Re: WTF Wednesday 11/11

  • Wtf pt2: wtf fiancé? I literally take care of everything domestic in your life, and you can't be bothered to take something out of the oven when I'm at work and you're playing video games???!!! Also going on five days without sex... If I'm doing everything to make your life easier, and you're going to do nothing but complain to me about what I'm "not doing" why am I bothering to do anything at all?

Don't get me wrong, I love this man, and I appreciate everything he does for me fiscally (which is where we balance responsibilities) but damn it I'm not happy about where we are right now. I need some help, and not just a demanding wallet. :'(

    Baby due April 6!
  • @Achieverjo wtf, Texas? That's so annoying!
  • @Knottie9983816 it would be different if you didn't work at all and you had it worked out so that you stayed home for the sole purpose of cooking, cleaning, etc. My only advise is to talk to him, wish I had something better.

WTF hemorrhoids - just why? Why do you have to be a cruel never ending cycle? Oh you got constipated? How about we make it so pooping hurts more than the first 12 hours of labor, that'll help right?

I second this complaint... WTF indeed. I've named mine Henry... Henry the hemorrhoid.

WTF at how big my ass is getting. Seriously... There is some definite booty explosion happening back there, and it startles the frick out of me every morning when I catch myself in the reflection of windows.
Oh I just literally LOL'd. Maybe if I name mine I can at least laugh through the pain. Sorry honey, no sex tonight, Herbert's being a PITA.
Right there with you both! It's a horrible cycle - get constipated, finally poop and it hurts like hell so you don't poop for a few more days and it starts all over... I'm having a girl so maybe I should name mine Harriet. What a bitch.

  • WTF DH..
Thanks for starting a fight in front of your mother, and then storming out.
THEN being surprised that I'm currently avoiding said mother.
I'm mortified. We're NOT that couple, and I'm so embarrassed about the whole thing, I'm not sure how I plan to face her anytime soon.. Because I'm sure she'll want to talk about it.

wtf is with the rude questions?

I don't generally tell people I am pregnant because I can't stand the rudeness. I manage a master's program and one of my students is organizing an all-expense paid trip to Israel through some educational foundation. We were discussing the agenda and I mentioned I have always wanted to go to Israel, so she invited me. Under normal circumstances, I would totally go, but it is during their spring break (2nd week of March) and I am due April 4. I skirted around it for a few minutes, saying I had plans but ended up telling her I was pregnant. I mean, it is pretty obvious at this point, but I have so far managed to avoid ANY questions, which I love. (thank you, coats and scarves!)

Her first question- "was this planned?". First, I hardly know you, so that is super rude. Second, I am 32, married, own a home and have a good job. I am hardly a prime candidate for that to be your first question.
@sarahufl, I had a coworker ask me that. In a crowded elevator full of people I didn't know. Um...what?? Similar situation - 31, married, own a home, have worked at this job for almost 5 years. (She has said several other inappropriate things about me being pregnant, and I bet she'll be one to try to rub my belly when it gets bigger. NOPE.)

  • WTF Insurance... I'm sure you're trying to save as much money as possible because your client hit not one, but two cars... but that doesn't mean you can insultingly belittle my injuries and thus my settlement... Why yes... I do think I deserve more than just coverage of my medical bills... and the reason there was a gap in my treatment is because I got married and went on my honeymoon... Oh I'm sorry you didn't read the notes on my claim when it hit your desk... and yes... your client hit me a month before my wedding... and yes, because of my injuries I got two dances with my husband and had to sit the rest of the time... between that and 4 months of physical therapy... yes... I'd say I deserve a little more than coverage of my medical bills... and don't you think for a second I won't take this to court... imagine how it will look when you are trying to short change an emotional pregnant woman... good luck with that.

Oh I'm absolutely fuming right now!!!

Oh i hate this! One of my dogs does this every once in a while, usually it means they are lacking something in their diet. We have to keep changing up our dog food cuz our dogs are SO FREAKING PICKY! either he wont even touch his food for a month and she is fine, or he likes the food and she eats her poop. And DH put his foot down at the idea of buying two kinds of food, so we just swich to a different food each time we buy.

WTF to work today.  SO MUCH RAGE.  I dealt with this by eating my feelings.  Turns our milkshakes are basically valium.  I felt infinitely better after those 600 calories.

Wow, what is wrong with people?? I had a coworker ask me the other day if I was taking birthing classes? Huh? I have not said more than "hi' and "good morning" to this man, and he walks in and without saying anything to me or anyone else in the room, justs randomly blurts out that question. It was so awkward! I just told him no, and then walked out. People, sheesh!

Is tell him they aren't born the old way any more. Modern medicine is an incredible thing; children are now springing from the womb like the vagina is a water slide held open with the biggest speculum you've ever seen. Faster recover time for mom and less stress on baby.

This is why I won't weigh myself after thanksgiving or Christmas. Nope, nope, nope.

    Glad yours was just water!
  • Also, I'm a day late but WTAF car? Please, please don't die just yet! DH is quitting his job to go to school full time (and will actually make more than he was in a management position for a company that sucks) And I can't have it break down before Christmas! After that, he can bring me to and from work but I'm trying to desperately avoid buying a new vehicle until after Christmas, when the money flow is more stable. Ugh!

For what it's worth, I've found that regular sitz baths in the tub with a hefty dose of Epsom salt keeps Henry in check. That and the standard OTC meds.
  • WTF at people posting pics of me and my pregnancy double chin. I thought we were friends, now you're dead to me.

  • @Achieverjo Yes, the sitz bath has worked wonders at times! Also keep preperation H wipes in every bathroom!

I'm so happy for this today. WTF to the secretary at work. I walked into the office this morning during my planning bell. She immediately looks at me and says: " I'm so glad you're pregnant." I thought to my self, ok, where is this going? She proceeds to tell me: " I saw you a few weeks ago, and thought to myself, motherhood is hard, and she must be putting on some weight. And then I saw you a few weeks later, and thought Oh, Erin, no. But then I decided to text someone else on staff and ask if you were pregnant because I couldn't believe you would let yourself go like that." WTAF? I mean seriously, who says that to someone? I don't care that I am pregnant, that is just rude.
This person really deserves to be on TP Thursday.

Umm... that's super weird that SHE would want to talk about an argument between you and your husband? oF course arguing in front of the MIL is not ideal, but I would say if it's an argument within your marriage, it's none of her business. (And I would tell her that politely if she tried to talk about it!)

@allaire314 That is so horrible that it happened to you and I am so sorry! However, I genuinely don't understand... what do you want them to compensate you for beyond your medical bills? Isn't that what the insurance is for... to cover the associated costs with the injury?

Ditto this- what are you asking for?
  • @pinottoparenthood and @sarahufl

If you're looking at just damage to your car, insurance takes car of repair/replacement...whatever the case may be. But when you are talking about injuries (when you are not at fault...I suppose also if you are at fault, but if you make a claim against your own insurance your rates will go through the roof!), the insurance of the responsible party takes care of medical bills and depending on the extent of your injuries, will pay out 2-3 times your medical bills to cover general pain and suffering, loss of productivity, long term care/pain management etc.

Currently their insurance is offering some monies toward pain and suffering, but are claiming that since I had a break in my treatment (17 days because we got married and went on our honeymoon), they shouldn't have to pay as much because I wasn't diligent with my treatment. My counter argument is that if I could go back and have their client cause this accident at a more convenient time so that I didn't have a gap in my treatment...I'm pretty sure I would just go back and have him not cause the accident in general... but I can't control that, and feel that due to the extent of my injuries and length of treatment I deserve more than what they are currently offering.

Right now it just seems they are trying to minimize the payout as much as possible. It was a pretty bad accident... 2 totalled cars, my car and extensive frame damage and was in the shop over a month. The driver of the middle car had severe internal bleeding and my husband will more than likely need back surgery (still in treatment 10 months after the accident).

I was in a pretty bad accident (determined 100% not my fault in a shared fault state) and was in physical therapy and occupational therapy for 4-5 months after.  The insurance company of the party at fault offered minimal pain and suffering compensation (I accepted it as I hadn't asked for it); however I was paid much more than that:  They had a negotiated rate with the doctors who provided my care, but the law apparently said they still had to pay out the total amount the doctors charged before the negotiated rate.  I received that difference. (They of course paid for my car to be fixed as well as lost time at work.)

If you are trying to collect on pain and suffering, loss of productivity, and long term care/ pain management then you have to do a lot of work to prove that you are owed this.  You should be at least a year beyond the initial accident (I think most insurance companies have up to 2-3 years to settle) have to get doctors involved to provide documentation of your losses and long term care, etc.

Salt and carbs molecules carry a lot of water around them. Eat too much salt/ carbs and you will carry extra fluid weight. I was eating in restaurants 3 meals a day, and you can never control the amount of salt ppl put on your food... Everything was so salty.

In my case, one day back to a normal diet and it was enough for me to "diurese" all the Extra fluid.

Lol I know all that! I was just wondering where you ate. You were in O-town, right? I go there pretty frequently, and would like to avoid that experience.
  • @Jules08 Yeah accidents with injuries are interesting to say the least. I know it will be a long process but it's worth it to me... especially with DH (2 herniated discs, a bulging disc and nerve damage) there is a lot that neither of us could do for a long while, even more so for DH. I had to give up projects I managed at work because of my injuries, and even though I've been discharged from PT, if I don't keep up with my stretches/exercises in my long term care plan I notice a huge difference in my abilities (ended up with upper back issues and a torn calf). Getting hit at 45 mph when you are at a dead stop is no fun.
