I have my B.S. in Family Studies and Social Work. No, it's not related to my current job. I'm a legal assistant and office manager at a small law firm that does oil and gas title work. I've had this job for 4 years and was a legal assistant at a different firm for 3 years before this. I just (finally) finished my degree last year so I decided to stay with my current job rather than working in my field of study. I would be taking a big pay cut to go into social work. I also really enjoy my job now.
I really just completed my degree that I started years ago to finally have my degree. I also need my Master's to really do much with it anyway. And I'm not interested in pursuing my Master's right now.

friend is pregnant is hard on you. I reacted the same way last year when my SIL
found out she was pregnant… I sobbed for hours and called my mom… It helps to
get it out… But I will admit… if I go to the holidays without being pregnant
seeing my nephew will be hard.

I’m avoiding taking Claritin because I’m worried about it disrupting my cm. So
I have been suffering through it.

about how I will feel after “try” for the first month… everyone in my family
has conceived on first try and I will just feel like a terrible wife… and I
know its so cavemanish to think like this… but I do… so we “cried it out” and I
moved on… but it is definitely harder than I thought it would be and I felt so
guilty feeling this way because its not very common to actually get a BFP on
the first cycle.
GTKY: I majored in journalism with a minor in political science and now I work for a newspaper as a copy editor, page designer and wire editor. However, I would love to change careers and go the PR route. Working for the newspaper industry sucks.
R/R/CS: Still no temp spike this morning, but I think today is the day, so hopefully temp will go up tomorrow to confirm O. Haven't noticed very much CM today, and DH and I were too tired to BD last night, so we may only have one sack session that would count within FW. I honestly didn't think I would learn much from temping, but charting on FF really helps me understand what is happening in my ute, and keeps me from SS.

I have a BS in Psychology, and had planned to get a masters in school psychology because I love children and could never do social work. I worked as a tech in a mental/behavioral hospital for 5 years counseling kids ages 3-12. I saw everything from severely abused to severely spoiled children and witnessed every type of mental/behavioral issue. Now I'm a SAHM, so I would say my education/job experience was definitely related to what I do now.

I studied psychology and addiction counseling. I never finished my degree for many reasons, but I always dreamed of and intended to work with teens. Eventually I worked at my church as a youth minister for a few years and was able to apply a lot of my education towards that, so I kind of used it. Now I'm a mostly SAHM and work part time as an office assistant for my family's business. That stuff is not so much related lol
@bcooke314 same thing here! My sister in law is getting married next summer, and DH and I had planned on TTA this month. But in the end, we decided to just keep at it. Why wait? Life has to go on. That's been our motto this whole time TTC

I got my BA in Philosophy and was planning on going to law school, but changed paths and ended up getting my master's in Social Work. Now I'm a part time school counselor and work in private practice part time so, yes, I'm definitely using part of my education!

@dogmomwantinghuman I'm so sorry that you are going through all of that with your friend. I'm glad they at least told you in private/via text so you could process it. I can totally relate to the crying for hours and you can't stop the tears. Its horrible. My DH has been frustrated by my frustrations and that has been something we've had to work through. I've had to tell him multiple times that I don't need him to be mr. positive and tell me to look on the bright side, but I need him to let me cry and not try to fix it at the moment, sometimes I just need to cry it out. I also have to tell him that ALOT of it is the hormones talking, not me and that if we could swap body parts, maybe he'd understand. Hugs to you.
@Sarah0985 That's so awesome about going home to see your family for Christmas!! I'm bummed because I don't think we are going to see much if any of my family this year at all over Thanksgiving or Christmas. We all have lots going on so it could be hard for all of us to make something work. In some ways I'm ok with it because last year we were very busy and moving so DH and I didn't have time to do much of anything so we are already planning some fun stuff for Dec. We didn't put any of our decorations up or anything either because of the move, so even if we do some fun stuff that will be good, but I miss my family! So I hope that will work out for you!!

@Hummingbird125 Awwwww, I'm so sorry about your morning. That sounds horrible. You could just have long cycles I suppose and O late. Being that this is your first cycle temping, I guess we won't know much till you get to the end of it unfortunately. You can have a period and not O, so until you get to the end of this cycle, you probably won't really know much. I know that stinks.....Sorry.
@mali0902 That's terrible about your dog!! Mine was covered in poo yesterday when I let him back in from going outside!! So he required a bath before I could leave for work. Its a good thing he's a 10 lb chihuahua that I just threw in the sink and that he's cute......I would just keep your 1st temp from this AM but make note of the 2nd temp somewhere that you will not forget in case you need to swap them out later.
@pupatella The next few days are going to fly by!! Just breathe and enjoy the festivities!! There's plenty of time for making babies!
@LittleMissTimeLord I'm living this right now. DH's unexpected increased work load has made him a very unhappy camper. I'm wondering how we'll get a BFP if his stress level continues at this rate. He did calm down last night and was in a better mood not too long after he got home, but I can see our actual timing going down the drain over the next few months. Instead of getting 2-3 or more sessions in the FW, I can see us being lucky to get 1-2 depending on what's going on with him. It only takes once though right?!?
@alicedavid2013 the leak waddle!! Oh no.....I'm sorry.....i hope the neighbors didn't see either!! I always alternate midol and ibuprofen every 3 hours or so on bad days!

In related news: I tried to study up on CM before this cycle. I ended up on a bunch of pictures. I was okay at watery, a little queasy at egg white, and almost lost my lunch at creamy. I know it's the human body and it's amazing and fascinating, but the combination of the CM and the fingers did me in. Good thing I didn't pursue the fleeting thought I had of becoming a nurse midwife. I'm such a weenie...

Oh it's awful isn't it, I did a nosey search on instagram once to see people's journeys as they TTC - bit of motivation and all that - and people are actually posting pictures of there own fingers with their own CM attached. What the actual F....
@LittleMissTimeLord omg yes, I find cm so confusing and I've done way too much googling. Each ttc forum has its own quirks but I've had to quit a couple after just a few browses because people are posting cm pics left right and centre. It's truly gross.
Since we're in a sharing mood, I have done all this searching because I have decided that I have a type of cm through most of my WTO cycle that defies classification. I now call it "snot-like" and put that in my notes on FF each time I find it. I haven't decided how to record it yet. For now I'm recirding it as ewcm but I have a feeling that may mess up my crosshairs so I might go in and change it to "sticky" even though it is not. Maybe I'll post a picture next time I find some so you ladies can help me decide

WAYD: I am getting tired of trying... I'm not doing a great job at temping this cycle.. but I am still going to my acupuncturist to keep my cycles going...
R/R/CS: this cycle has been really hard on me. I am feeling like giving up on everything and seeing if we can look into adopting. My Husband keeps telling me to not give up just yet. So we are planning on going back to an RE start of the new year. I wanted to finish out this year with acupuncture. But the more I think about it, the more I fear that the RE isn't going to be able to do anything and we should just give up on having a biological child and start working on adoption. I would love any child I could have!. My husband has no problems with adoption, but he wants that to be our last option... uggghhh... emotional woman here!
...On another note, I had random bleeding/spotting on CD 13, when my temp spiked, but my temps have gone down since... so I am not sure if I Ovulated (I don't think so... ) but yeah... that's confusing... I think it might be stress messing with my mind and body.

MNturnsVA I don't know what my cycles are like. I was on the IUD for over 6 years, and can't remember what it was like before that, because at that time, I didn't really pay attention! I know I had irregular cycles though. If I don't get AF by January, my doctor wants to do some more tests. I am going to be SO EXCITED the day AF finally shows up!!
R/R/CS: Had my first catch up with a friend where she just casually dropped, “oh, yeh, and I’m pregnant again.” Which, totally awesome, and I’m sooooo early in the TTC process, but a little corner of my heart was still kind of like “ouch!”

I didn't even know she was wanting kids right now, (thought she was waiting until she got married). It definitely hit me harder than I thought it would so go ahead and cry it out girl! @Sugargirl1019 It can take a while for your cycles to regulate after going off the pill, which makes it harder to time things for TTC. You might want to consider going off soon and using barrier methods of BC until you are ready to TTC, just a suggestion. Plus then you can get some practice in with charting sooner
@MNturnsVA and @MrsDho11 I've never experienced a cycle longer than 35 and here I am now almost double that and to be honest my last "period" consisted of just having to use a thin panty liner for one day and that was it. As soon as I get my new insurance card in I'm headed to the doctor.

Haven't noticed very much CM today, and DH and I were too tired to BD last night, so we may only have one sack session that would count within FW. I honestly didn't think I would learn much from temping, but charting on FF really helps me understand what is happening in my ute, and keeps me from SS.

Since we're in a sharing mood, I have done all this searching because I have decided that I have a type of cm through most of my WTO cycle that defies classification. I now call it "snot-like" and put that in my notes on FF each time I find it. I haven't decided how to record it yet. For now I'm recirding it as ewcm but I have a feeling that may mess up my crosshairs so I might go in and change it to "sticky" even though it is not. Maybe I'll post a picture next time I find some so you ladies can help me decide

WAYD: I am getting tired of trying... I'm not doing a great job at temping this cycle.. but I am still going to my acupuncturist to keep my cycles going...
R/R/CS: this cycle has been really hard on me. I am feeling like giving up on everything and seeing if we can look into adopting. My Husband keeps telling me to not give up just yet. So we are planning on going back to an RE start of the new year. I wanted to finish out this year with acupuncture. But the more I think about it, the more I fear that the RE isn't going to be able to do anything and we should just give up on having a biological child and start working on adoption. I would love any child I could have!. My husband has no problems with adoption, but he wants that to be our last option... uggghhh... emotional woman here!

@dogmomwantinghuman I'm so sorry to hear about your bad night. My cousin, who I am only 9 months younger than, recently told us she is expecting. I didn't even know she was wanting kids right now, (thought she was waiting until she got married). It definitely hit me harder than I thought it would so go ahead and cry it out girl!
