Trying to Get Pregnant

Could I still be pregnant?

Haven't been on here in a while just because I've been so busy and this is really the first month that I have actually missed my period, so here it goes:

I am on cycle day 45, and I ovulated got my LH surge on cycle day 20 (used clear blue digital ovulation predictor kit). My cycles are typically between 32-34 days, but I ovulated roughly 6 days later than I typically do which makes me believe I was due for my period around cycle day 38 this cycle. I had some spotting for less than 12 hours on cycle day 38 that was light pink and very very little. ..Then after that there was NO more blood at all. I have been getting negative tests though. This morning I tested with a first response and there was no line, but I feel pregnant, I have been having morning sickness ans dry heaving out of no where. My uterus has a "fullness" to it. I have been having slight cramping and headaches and feel very tired. Today is cycle day 45 and I am never this late without a full period. Anybody else had this experience and still been pregnant? I just feel pregnant but am very discouraged that I don't have a positive to prove it, and I'm not sure when to trust the negatives. My husband and I have been trying for a year, and I was really happy when I was late but now feel more confused than ever.

Agree with PP. Also are you temping?? That's the only way to confirm ovulation

  • I'm too hungover for this.

It's against TOU to ask if you're pregnant. We don't know. A positive pregnancy test is the first true indication. If you don't believe the sticks consult your medical professional.
  • wow. So I can't share my experience to see if anybody can help me? I have never read anywhere that I can't post in TTC forum about this. Well, if nobody on here is going to help support me now, then you can sure as heck bet that I won't be back when I finally do get pregnant.

And for your information, Chrlyr, I have gone to the doctor. They already told us try for 6 more months before we come back for more vigorous testing. So, butt out.

If you've been ttc for. A year with no luck then you qualify for testing. Find a new doctor or don't get all in a huff when someone tells you the normal guidelines.

Did you read the TOU to *this* forum? Because this type of stuff is very clearly spelled out there.

Also, negative test means not pregnant. How would we know more than that? We are INTERNET STRANGERS.

Ok then... I'm sorry for trying to help you understand what is going on by asking a simple question of if you were temping. It is quite possible you ovulated later than you think.

  • @InHisTiming22 in case you do come back...

Are you temping your bbt? That is the only way to confirm ovulation. A positive OPK will only detect an LH surge, which means that you COULD be gearing up to ovulate. Many women have multiple LH surges per cycle, or have an LH surge but then don't actually ovulate. If you aren't temping, it's very possible that you haven't actually ovulated yet.

  • If you are on cycle day 45 with no AF and BFNs, then no, you did not ovulate on cycle day 20. A 25 day LP is not possible. You either ovulated later than usual, or have not yet ovulated. Even if you're "never" this late, our motto here is you're regular until you're not.

Also, zero reason to be rude to people who are just explaining the rules of the board. Even with the rules, we still get the "am I pregnant?!?" questions a hundred times a week. It gets really, really old.

Seriously?? @chrylr actually ANSWERED your question while most of us are reading this over here like

It's pretty ridiculous for you to tell someone to "butt out" when you blatantly violated an obvious TOU. You should be thanking anyone for entertaining your question at all.

  • I've had cycles last 50 some days and wasn't pregnant but felt fullness and progesterone can cause that feeling. A BFN means you are not pregnant, you're just having an off cycle. Please read the newbie thread posted at the top of this form.

Long cycles happen, unfortunately. My cycles are on average 45 days long. The cycle before last it was 60 days. I ovulated on day 33 (according to BBT charting and FF). You can always trust a negative. Odds are you are just "late" because you ovulated later. You can have many LH surges throughout your cycle and the ovulation event only happens once. OPK (LH strips) are great for sex timing but they don't tell you when you actually ovulated. Just that you MIGHT.

So, the general advice is to test once a week. Read the instructions carefully. Use first morning urine and throw the test out after the time limit. If you reach cycle day 60 without a positive HPT or your period then call your doctor to investigate further.

Its happened to me many times since giving birth to my son (August 2013). I'm breastfeeding etc. and sometimes any number of things (sickness, sleep issues or even just a random cycle where you don't ovulate at all) can affect when you ovulate. I know its frustrating, but honestly if you were really late then you would turn an HPT.

Ok, hold up here. We can't really help you, though. We can tell you what WE would do and what MIGHT be happening. Traditionally, one moves on to the trimester boards when pregnant, FYI. Especially if they aren't an active member that posts to support other people. This attitude is really not going to help you either. You said yourself that you haven't been back because you've been "busy". Its really not nice to waltz in and cop an attitude when a.) no one else's experience means anything for you. Your body and fertility are unique to you and b) its all just guessing anyway.

Are we supposed to be sad about this?

I wish I could love this a hundred times. Like we REALLY want to hear a strangers pregnancy announcement.... ? Someone truly trying with no success for a year would know better than that/realize how hurtful and rude that would be...
