Also, this message coming from anyone trying to peddle their wares ruins it for me. It's a glorified advertisement, that as a PP said only perpetuates the very idea of "mommy wars".
Unsolicited advice has always been considered judgement, hasn't it? That's the kind of "advice" PPs are talking about.

I guess I just don't see it that way. I think that people who genuinely believe they are trying to help aren't judging. I also see a massive difference between telling someone what you think they should be doing because you don't agree and offering advice because you want to help and believe that the recipient wants to hear what you have to say. I think that a lot of people confuse the two types of communication without realizing that they are giving the very idea of real advice a bad reputation. Advice is typically offered out of experience, kindness and concern, not judgement.
Everyone is saying the same thing here, "Feed your baby however you want". And yet here we are feeling judged & guilty. We all have experiences that put a filter on how we read things on the internet. You are the only one who can make you feel guilty. Work out your feelings, accept what has passed, what's done is done. No one knows your story but you.
None is this changes the fact that the ad is a commercial for formula & the only "innocent" party in it is the formula feeding parents. *shrug*
