I'm totally going to get flamed for this one, but that's what fffc is for! I am slightly disappointed in how mellow this board is. Maybe it will pick up, but we've already had a slew of "OMG, am I preggers even tho I'm not late and I haven't POAS!?" And the responses seem to *mostly* be "maybe! Weeeeee! Super-happy-fun-time!!!"

Challenge accepted. Bitch mode activated. All the snarky gifs from now on!
@sparkysunshine I agree it is annoying to see all of the "am I pregnant" posts here... pee on a stick, and hang out in TTC like we all did... but that being said I suppose my FFFC is that I don't like when everyone gangs up on a poster & makes fun of them, mainly because we're all going through this together and for many people they don't have any other outlet to ask questions (even if they can most likely find the answer on google or their doctor) for the trolls/obnoxious ones its totally worthy - but for those asking innocent questions I always feel badly that just because people don't know the etiquette and get flamed! Idk, pregnancy hormones have turned me into a softy
To add to that: I cannot stand how I've seen pee sticks posted on this bmb and not one member has said anything about TOU or posting in the 1st tri board.

Eta: gif, they make the world go 'round!
I'm with you. I've been holding back, but the sass is coming!
In my experience on my previous BMB, you were told to read the rules and observe before you posted pointless questions that we cannot answer for you. And more than likely, after observing and reading the guides, you probably WON'T be asking those questions.
For example: "Am I preggers?? I have all the symptoms but I keep getting negatives on all the tests!"
I feel like that is just common sense to not ask an online forum that question. How the heck are we suppose to know what is going on in your uterus??

@SparkySunshine - Yes, yes, yes. This. I've been holding myself back bc I didn't want to be the bitch in the group but I can't handle the unicorns and rainbows!
My confession: I don't really like the LO I babysit. I feel terrible, he's only 10.5 months and it's not his fault. His parents have conditioned him to be 100% dependent on an adult for all soothing, entertainment, and to be held for an entire nap. Or he screams horrendously. Um, no.
By this age a kid should be able to play with a toy for more than 30 seconds alone without an adult's continuous participation. I should be able to stand up without him throwing an instant tantrum that lasts for 30 minutes. I should be able to put him down while he sleeps. He's not a newborn!
In regards to the board being boring. It is so early, excitement will come soon. I mean we are only up to people being due mid July, we still have am half a month of people to add.

Completely agree! I guess my confession is that I can't comprehend how anyone could get all uptight about someone posting a question they don't like on a public internet forum. I also don't think petty meanness is acceptable in any situation, online or not. I've been so glad to see that this board is maintaining a friendly, open vibe
Other than that one I haven't seen many... (Though I just joined this week.)
FFFC: I'm not as excited as I think I should be and it sucks! I think I'm just being a logical planner and staying cautious - I'm thinking mostly about timing of appointments, telling family and friends, etc. Maybe after my first appointment (in 27 freaking days!!!) I'll trust that the bean is sticking.

Seeing the same questions over and over again gets annoying - my old BMB started out like this one but changed pretty quickly. When you see 5 different posts in a day about nausea it gets old. I think there's a big difference between being mean/attacking vs. being blunt, though. I've seen my fair share of both.

I agree that meanness is unnecessary and I don't like a poster get jumped on without an attempt to direct them in the right direction. But if they don't take the advice in a mature and reasonable manner, then it's fair game.
My FFFC: I never learned to gif on my old bmb and don't plan to here. I think it is a lazy thing. I don't have time to look up gifs nor do I care to. I love seeing other peoples though so gif on but you won't see any from me!
I feel the same way about the individual symptom posts. I just wait for someone to post the "what's everyone feeling like today" posts. I will FFFC and say I don't like the unneeded snoot that sometimes happens, I know there was a whole board at the start that got shut down because the women on it were just down right nasty to each other. I think the bump needs to do some condencing so it's easier for people to get information.
My FFC, my best friend and her husband have been in town all week and I am SO beyond ready for them to leave so I can take a nap! They are the type of people that need to be entertained.... We have a 2 yr old and like to relax.
I agree that the "I have x symptoms and I think I'm pregnant but the tests are all negative" posts get really old really fast, but I find it really catty when the replies become a "lets make this person feel like an idiot" thing. If the first 5 posts tell the OP to go to TTGP or POAS I don't see the point in another 20 posters adding on to say the same thing in a snarky tone. That's the attitude that keeps people from posting in the first place. I agree that some people need to be redirected (or have some common sense smacked into them) but I don't think we need to be rude just for the sake of being rude.

THIS!!
I agree. I think the issue with how type comes across as rude is that there are too many people saying the same things over and over. If someone has said what you like then just like the post unless you have something more constructive to add.
My FFFC: I dont like intro posts. If the argument is about people posting the same question over and over then the same can be said about all the intro posts. They also dilute the board and make questions difficult to find/answer. I would much prefer a sticky that was an into thread and everyone put their stories there. I like getting to know everyone but they all become the same thing. "Congrats H&H 9 months!!! "
I do like the fact that this is a BMB so, the intros will slow/stop soon and we'll all be in this together!
Also, whoever installed a tazer under my nipples, would you please stop pressing the button!!!

You should make an intro post and ask bump admins to sticky it!
To add to the snarky BMB.. My last BMB was so freaking snarky.. I hated it. I liked getting on and talking to some people and joining in on threads but it was too much for me. I don't mind some snark, but I don't like people being mean or rude. I know text is hard to convey feelings. Im totally okay with rainbow and puppy dogs. Haha
I believe in a two-way street. I'm happy to give support to community members that do the same or are going through something scary but I feel that it is extremely entitled and rude for someone to jump on to stir the pot, never read replies or whatnot.
I wear big-girl panties but there are lines one should never cross. Otherwise, I enjoy some quality snark and am a HUGE fan of gif parties
I didn't realize the whole etiquette thing when I first posted and got redirected/schooled and felt the snark. It made me question if people are so freaking serious about these boards they need to get a life. I didn't use this when TTC.
I stuck around anyway and so far I don't want to punch anyone. .
The month club of my MC was a lot of fighting. We'll see what happens when someone posts about going to the ER to get an US or whether they should get a flu shot.....
My FFFC: I never learned to gif on my old bmb and don't plan to here. I think it is a lazy thing. I don't have time to look up gifs nor do I care to. I love seeing other peoples though so gif on but you won't see any from me!
I love to gif! So expect one from me most of the time!
Loving this thread! I agree in so many ways with what most people have said.
I feel too exhausted to think of a FFFC... Oh! I absolutely can't stand when people use text talk or whatever it is called. Like srsly im 2 lazy 2 punch all of the keys.

FFFC- I always use Siri dictation! You'll see that I edit a lot of my posts due to auto correct fail. It's not so much laziness, but more the fact that I am strictly mobile and often times multitasking.

@Taymiller absolutely possible. The Admins need to sticky/pin it to the top of the bmb. I'm waiting on them hopefully to sticky my search function thread.

Not a stupid question. There are a ton of acronyms and you'll get used to them soon. There is also a glossary in the same thread.
