Safe Over the Counter meds?

I am 8 weeks and have picked up a cold, my throat is so raw from coughing and drainage that I am completely miserable, but I am so scared to take anything. I had a mc during my last pregnancy and I'm terrified of a repeat so I am so super cautious about everything. Please help!

Re: Safe Over the Counter meds?

  • I'm in your same boat. I got Robitussen (sp?) DM, Benedryl, and Halls cough drops. All of those I was told are safe. Tylenol for fevers and aches. Hope you feel better soon!

  • Dr. Google could probably provide a list. My doc just gave me a list, however. The only two regular cold meds that were contraindicated are sudafed and tavist.

Benadryl, clariton, cough drops, robitussin, zyrtec, allegra, vicks all ok.
