Sleep Deprive

4 weeks pp and I'm having a hard time taking a nap when lo is sleeping during the day. I get up at 6am to get the other kids ready for school. I'm running on low. So low that I gave my oldest a prenatal pill instead of his Add med. he said uh mom what's this lol.

I was doing the same thing as you the first couple mornings, but then just letting my husband sleep......Nope sorry sir. Since I'm the one getting up in the night breastfeeding. I told my husband he is in charge of getting the older boys ready for school and taking them since he doesn't have to work till 9am. I get a couple extra hours sleep that way :)

  • I have a hard time napping too, especially if little guy decides he wants to sleep on top of me. I started to go to bed really early (6:30-7) and leave DH with a pumped bottle. By that time, I am ready to pass out. I do all the night feelings, and DH is a much better sleeper than I am. I have a hard time falling asleep.
  • I have been surviving off of coffee in the am... I've never been a coffee drinker lol but LO hasn't been sleeping well at night no matter what I do! He's has been going thru growth spurts And cluster feeding. He eats every 2 hours or so and goes right back to sleep bit some nights its every hour. And he eats 4-6 oz... He hates swaddling and he has had bad gas which wakes him up too... I've switched formula and I am using gas drops which has helped but he still only sleeps in 2 hour stretches. LO is 6 weeks ...

You are not alone girlfriend! My DD is doing the same thing. She was sleeping longer like 3-4 hours at night but last night she woke up every over hour! She's 5 weeks tomorrow. I thought this was supposed to get better!
Let me know how it works for you or if you have any tips or tricks. I barely nap during day too.

I've never been a coffee drinker either lol. But now I am!

  • Well it has to get better! Lol jasminluke!! My mom keeps telling me that by 3 months they should sleep thru the night. I'm usually ok with him waking up every 2 hrs it's the every 30min-1 hour that gets me. And for whatever reason he loves the swing and will only sleep good in there. I think it's the motion he loves! That's why he has found a way to rock the cradle on his own. He pulls himself up on his side to move it... It freaked me out last night !
  • Same here!!! She's up every 2 hours but what kills me is she gets up, by the time I change her feed her and rock her back to sleep it's been about 45 minutes but she's ready to eat an hour after I put her down! So by the time I get her down again then I lay down to fall asleep I get about 20 minutes of sleep and she's up screaming for food again!!!
