Re: 11/3 Twatwaffle Tuesday

  • The buying agent is a twatwaffle. He asked that my tenants move out early because they were just so ready to close. I had the girls move out over a week ago and we haven't closed yet and probably won't close until the end of next week at this rate. Now I'm paying an extra mortgage this month as well as having to pay someone to secure my house because bums (they're twatwaffles too) decided to squat on my house literally 2 days after the girls moved out. And I've had 2 attempted break ins since because the power is off and the house obviously looks empty with a for sale sign in front. I'm about to drive 10+ hours to deal with those effing bums. You don't mess with a pregnant mofo.

  • My grad student is a twat-waffle. She has to defend her thesis by late November, is not nearly ready and literally demanding I return revisions IMMEDIATELY while holding over my head the fact that she is a single mom and NEEDS to graduate this December. I feel bullied!

    Haters.

I'm interviewing for my dream job next Monday, a job I've been working toward for ten years that would secure my family's financial future and put me closer to my parents and friends, and--to boot-- a job that seems made for me and which I'd be amazing at.  I'm one of three finalists.

Some twatwaffle at the place I'm applying to posted my name and the names of the other two candidates in a public forum (totally against protocol and common decency) and sparked a gaggle of other twatwaffles who are mad that they weren't selected to start attacking me and my credentials. I know these people are asses, with clear interpersonal shortcomings that would explain why they didn't get a call, but it still makes me so mad!!!!

    1. I've been passed over for jobs before for no good reason: that's what happens when there are 100-300 applicants for every job.  Sorry. It happens to all of us.  So why is everyone up in arms *now*?

    2. There's nothing these asshats can do to re-do the search, so why the f*ck can't they just suck up and be nice?

    3. I've got haters.  Like real freaking haters.  Mostly they think I'm a lightweight because I'm a woman (I think, since my professional cred is solid and there's no opening for them to be attacking me for another reason). but I hate having haters!

    4. This is souring the job search, and I'm worried that if I'm not *themostawesomethingever!!!!* the search committee will be reluctant to hire me or any of the other candidates.

    5. A good employer is getting totally undeserved flack, and it's just sad that people are responding to their attempts at decency (running an accelerated search) with pure vitriol.

I'm just so mad and I want to throttle the lot of them.

    Ugh.

  • District exam writers
My district creates the midterm and final exams that core subject teachers must use to evaluate students. Results count toward 20% of each student's grade and 30% of each teacher's yearly evaluation.

There were two major, confusing typos in the multiple choice section of my course's exam-- for the second year in a row! I reported the very same errors last year, and it still wasn't fixed for this year! Wtf? I rereported the errors, and dug up the old paperwork from reporting last year to attach this year.

Please, just let me make my own damn midterm and final exams.

Also, I'd like to add any student who hasn't applied him/herself and yet asks for bonus opportunities in the last three days of the grading period. Nope, no bonus. Stay on top of your work and maybe accept my offers to help next quarter.
  • The receptionist at the hospital.

I made my second appointment a month ago and turn up today to find out she booked me with the wrong doctor. Of course my doctor was unavailable and I just couldn't wait another week to see my baby! So I went to the old guy, he barely spoke English and then he tells me I have a UTI according to the test I took a MONTH ago. Thanks for letting me know guys. And now I have to take the test again (and pay for it AGAIN).

Is it just me or is it weird that I have to call my doctor to get them to check the results? "Usually my patients bring me their results" he says. Umm...I'm not your secretary.

And to top it all off he wasn't as good as my real doctor at taking the US pictures.

    *Rant over*

Thankfully baby looks great was moving like crazy and seems to be healthy. :)

The fact that I have to call every day at 5pm until Feb to see if I have to report for jury duty. I work a nights into mids shift so you can imagine how freakin tired I am when I have to leave work at 1am or 3am just to report to jury duty at 9am (leaving the house by 8am). My work does pay me while I am at jury duty but that's been only 6 hours (we work 10s) so I have to make up the 4 hours or go unpaid for the 4 hours. Because I work nights into mids my boss is making me work the 4 hours by coming in late and working until 1a or 3a. I tried to explain to her I'm exhausted and only getting 6 hours of sleep between work and jury duty and she just asked, "Well, do you wanna just work until 12a?" REALLY?! NO! I want to go from jury duty to work so I get off at 6p or 7p so MAYBE I could get some adequate sleep! Also, I had to sit through a child sex crime case for 6 freakin hours... I really need to have some time after that! I work as a dispatcher, my DH is a cop, AND I used to work in booking in the county beside the one I'm having to do jury duty in. Don't you think I should get dismissed?! Well the judge presiding right now doesn't think so... So I guess my twatwaffles are my boss, the jury duty rules, and the judge.

  • The new guy I'm training at work. Idk if it's just nerves or him wanting to try to fit in but he literally does not stop talking. Even when I need to take in a patient he will follow me out of the room and keep talking. I'm still so tired all the time and now I have zero down time. Every time I have 2 seconds to breath and get caught up he's there.. Talking. It's making the exhaustion even worse! I'm about to lose it!
  • My former boss. I left a job at a small clinic a year ago due to my terrible boss. I was Facebook friends with everyone that worked there, including my boss, as we were actually work friends initially. After I left, my former boss "unfriended" me (I only noticed months after leaving). One of the other employees (and a good friend of my former boss) recently added me as a friend, and I can't help but feel like she is "spying" on me to see what I have been up to since leaving. I wasn't close to this other employee at all and rarely worked together, and she only just requested me as a friend a couple of weeks ago (which I have ignored).
  • Today my DH makes the twatwaffle list.
Two years ago we cut the cable and just had tv with rabbit ear antenna (we can only pick up three stations on a good day) and signed up for Netflix and Hulu.  I recently signed up for SlingTV which was 20 a month and gave a few cable channels.  Sling sucked b/c it would cut out a lot.  I work from  home and I can't stand not having anyone to talk to, so I constantly play something on Netflix that I have already seen before just to have noise in the background .  Most of the time it's Friends.  I can only watch that series so many times before I go crazy.
So I saw a good deal on Direct TV's website and I called them and signed up for the deal of 26/mo.  I was really really really looking forward to getting the Hallmark Channel back so I could watch their Christmas programming.  I love love love Hallmark Channel this time of year.
I told DH (after the fact) that I had signed us back up for DirectTV and that the technician was coming Thursday to install the box. He seemed fine with it when I told him it wasn't anymore than Sling and Hulu costs together.  He seemed perfectly fine with it.  DH said he would have to make sure the cables were running through the walls correctly b/c he thought he had messed with them when he painted his garage.  He does not trust the techs to do the job right.  So tonight he discovered that that it was going to be really hard to get the cables back where they needed to be and he threw a three year old style temper tantrum and basically made me feel like shit.  Saying how I should have talked to him first (even though before he seemed completely fine with it) and that if I ever did anything like that again without talking to him.... I don't know what the rest of that sentence was going to be b/c he did not finish it.   But it's not like he doesn't do the same thing.  That is how we ended up with an alarm system.  He got it without talking to me first.  I found out when the guy was coming to install the damn thing.   I did not throw a fit like he did though.  Most of the time we do talk to each other before doing stuff like that.
Then he starts riding my ass about how I don't keep the house clean and how he works his ass off.  Like he is the only person with the full time job.  Ummmmm I have a full time job too and I'm growing a human.  I know I wasn't good at keeping the house clean before, but still. Timing is everything.  He likes to throw in my face a lot about how he has two jobs.  Ummmm no you don't dude, you work that second job maybe one day every other month, and your so called third job of working on people's cars isn't a third job either b/c you could always say no.  It's not like he gets paid worth a crap to do that.. God forbid you ever disappoint any of your precious car friends by saying no once in a while.  It seems like I'm the only one he ever says no to.
He threw such a big huge temper tantrum over the tv cables that I called DirectTV up really fast and canceled it just so I wouldn't have to hear his shit.   God forbid his wife ever ask him to do anything.  Anytime I ask him to do anything he makes excuses about being too tired, and how I don't appreciate how hard he works, etc.  Most of the time when I ask him to do something, it's like it's one fucking tiny thing that will take you ten minutes or less.  Or if he does do it, he throws a temper tantrum and sighs a lot and plays the martyr.   But any of his car buddies ask him to do something he jumps right on it.   I would never ask him to give up and/or completely stop helping out his car buddies, but at least sometimes say no and show your wife some priority over your car buddies. Sorry for the language, but I"m just really ticked off right now and just had to vent.

  • This honor shall be bestowed upon bank of America.

I refinanced in July and still am going back and forth with them to get my escrow refund in November. They keep saying they have sent me the forms they need (duplicate of the exact sane documentation I had to provide for the refi) but I haven't gotten any of them. Somehow though, I still get my mortgage statements just fine...

Apparently I didn't fill out the form right last time. Didn't know that because I never got their letter. Keep having to go into a branch and get associates to get these magic forms, and they keep coming up with more things they need from me all of a sudden.

Never had to work so hard to get my own money before. I wish I could invoice them for the time I have wasted on the phone with cs or in a branch.
