HDBD or just fat? PIP

Alright ladies. Are we at the point where any of us have real bumps? I am calling mine a bump because I have continuously been losing weight, but gaining girth. What do you think? Post your bumps if ya got 'em!

  • You look like me. I don't know if you're experiencing this but my stomach sticks out more as the day goes on so I kinda think it's a blump. I hate the blump. The blump and I aren't friends. I can't wait until it's a definitive bump bc I just feel like a chunky butt most of the time.

  • I wish I could participate...but I think I'm still a few weeks out.
  • I too have blump. I feel so fat! It does not look like a cute bump whatsoever, just fat.
I need to start slowly working out again. I've lost a couple of pounds since the beginning and I think I'm losing all my muscle :(

  • I think mine is still just bloat. I can start to feel lower down where it is starting to pop a little bit I think, but I think I'm still a few weeks out for a real bump.
  • Mine is still super squishy, even though it resembles a bump. So for now its still a blump.
  • Yay for HDBD!!!

I think we are ready to start this thread for real soon!

  • I'm bumping. It's not even a blump anymore. Hard round and always there.

  • @LadySamLady I definitely say bump! Don't worry, I have been cropping out my face on every single bump picture I have been taking haha!
  • Looking at others, maybe mine might be a bump? Idk. I am kinda in the same boat as not really gaining anything but getting a little more round around the middle. I'm probably just in denial. Maybe I'll take a picture when I get home.
  • no clue why the pic posted sideways - sorry!

  • I don't think I'll ever have a real bump since all my fat accumulates around my middle and I can pass as a very pregnant lady every day of the year due to that.   Ugh!  Although I have noticed some mornings when I wake up my stomach down there in the general vicinity looks seriously lopsided.  Like wtf

I have to say thank you to everyone posting bump pics. FTM here and I have been feeling VERY self-conscious lately because I keep reading that I shouldn't start to show till week 20-ish and I thought I was just gaining excess weight not baby related due to a few poor food choices. I feel so much more normal now to have a bit of a bump at week 15. I'll try and remember to take and post a pic later
I started showing with my first at 11 weeks, 10 weeks with this one. Only to those that know me well but still showing. So it depends on the person. I have no torso so there isn't anywhere for baby/uterus to go but out.

  • lalala2004 Your picture could be mine. Any extra weight I carry is in my thighs/butt and my stomach is definitely not as flat as it was. Still, I'm wearing my normal pants and everything.

  • I'm just squishy bloated still. Womp, womp.
  • I kind of feel like a freak! I'm 5'9" and was always in good shape, everything I've read indicates that I should not be showing so early. I'm trying to embrace my new body but it is hard.

I'm still wearing my regular pants, too, but occasionally with the rubber band trick, or some maternity pants just because they're comfortable.

  • I have a HUGE blump. I know it's not a bump because I can still suck it in (mostly), and it's twice as big at night as it is in the morning :(. Jealous of all the legit bumps out there!
  • I've legit gained weight, so I just don't know in my case.
Not posting my pic, but I really just look fat in it. Not pregnant.
I feel like because I lost a ton of weight before getting pregnant, my stomach shows weight gain more readily

  • I'm really jealous of all the cute bumps! Mine is definitely still nothing at 12 weeks. I didn't show noticeably until about 22 weeks with DD but I'm hoping this one shows up a little sooner. I'm tired of just feeling fat.

Same! 10w5d, and I'll call it a bump when it doesn't change size depending on what time of day it is! Being due at end of May, I like this group because I can see what's coming, but always get a little jealous of everyone else being in the next steps too :)
  • On Monday, my regular lady at the salon immediately picked out that I was pregnant (at 11w2d), so I guess I must be showing to outside observers too and it's not just in my head.

    I... guess... that's nice?

This is me too right now! In tighter shirts, my midsection just looks thicker and it isn't pretty.

  • Some days I wake up with a flat stomach. It's never concave anymore though and by evening it's always blumpy and I can't suck it in. It's a hard ball, but I can tell it's a hard ball of gas and not baby.

Other days, I wake up with a big belly that just continues to grow unattractively as the day progresses. Never looks like a pregnant belly, just looks like I ate a ton of salty pretzels and beer.

It's gotten markedly worse the last two weeks so I definitely think it's more than just regular bloat now - I think my uterus is pushing stuff (ie my guts) upwards and all that stuff is super swollen and irritated from poor digestion hence it sticks out more. My regular pants still fit (in fact, I prefer to wear the tighter ones as they suction everything in) but I don't always look great.

@KurrantI have also heard a lot of stories of people not showing until 20 weeks. I think that happens with some people, for sure. I've known people like that. However, I think people who say 20 weeks is average are often telling you when they started to definitely look pregnant vs just a tiny bump/swelling that a stranger wouldn't really see. Almost every pregnant woman I've known started getting a bit bumpy shortly after she announced she was pregnant. For sure, a stranger couldn't tell, but I definitely could and I'm sure each woman noticed a difference far earlier than I did. Furthermore, most of those women went right back to looking their normal, small selves after birth, so it's not indicative of outrageous weight gain. In other words, don't be too stressed about getting all blumpy/bumpy right now. You're in good company.

I don't know how to post a pic but I'm 12 weeks 5 days and I started getting a bump right at 12 weeks. It's small but it's definitely bump because it's hard and I can't suck it in--oh, and it's there when I first wake up :-) I think we should start the official may HDBD thread starting next week! ETA can someone tell me how to post a pic? Thanx!!

  •   I missed this yesterday.  I'm totally ready for a HDBD thread.  My stomach is bigger, lower, right when I wake up in the morning,  It rounds out by mid-afternoon but at almost 15 weeks, it's not just blump anymore.
