Do you think size of belly = size of baby?

My belly is huge, sticks straight out and looks like a basketball. ?Was the same with my first son. ?I swear my belly stuck out 3 feet by the time I delivered. ?My son was 9.1lbs at 39 weeks. ?I am not measuring big and either is the baby, but 6+ more weeks of belly/baby growth kinda frightens me on how big my belly is going to get. ?

It is just amazing to me how everyone belly's can look so different when pregnant - big or small. ?I was curious to see if others thought belly size was any kind of indicator for the size of the baby. ??

Definitely not - both my sisters were huge (gained 65 and 80 pounds) and had 7 pound babies.

It seems that the general public thinks that.....I keep getting comments that I'm not that big, or don't even look pregnant (I guess I just look really fat) and that the baby will be really small.
Belly size has nothing to do with baby size and the same goes for the amount of weight you gain in relation to baby size IMO.

i think it sort of is, which is why they measure fundal height, but it varies a lot with body shape/size/etc. for eg, i am really short, so where else is the baby going to go but out?

Nope...size of belly tells you haw big your amniotic sac is, more fluid = bigger belly. There could still be a little baby inside all that fluid.

Fundal height measures the size of the uterus, which does not always correlate with the overall belly size.

Nope. I think it might have something to do with the way the baby is positioned, though.

hmmmm my dr. did say i have a lot of fluid, maybe that is why i feel like such a fat a$$.

Guess everyone is different. ?For me it seems to equal bigger babies. ?Just wish I could say I have a big belly and haven't gained a ton of weight. ?With both pregnancies, I pack on the pounds. ?At least to strangers I look "all belly." ?But who is going to tell a pregnant woman that she looks fat anyway? ?

I think my belly size has more to do with my torso... I have a long torso, so I don't think I look as big as women with shorter torsos.

Nope - everyone, including my midwife was convinced I'd have at most a 7 pounder. He was 8 lbs 6 oz. Here's my belly day before I delivered:

I dont think so at all.. i was at the Dr. yesterday and she said my belly was measuring very small.. we then did an ultrasound and at 37 weeks my baby is already almost 7 pounds.. i think it has alot to do with your body type.. your level of exercise.. and eating habits.
