  • Week/Baby Size: 18 weeks, sweet potato

Symptoms: still tired all the time, but nothing much besides that. I'll take it though.

Rants/Raves/Stories: I can't think of anything right now. Exciting I know.

Upcoming Appointments: anatomy scan is in two weeks. It's taking forever, we know what we're having but I can't wait to see him again and make sure everything's ok.

    Questions: Nope.

GTKY: What is the best vacation you ever took? My wedding/honeymoon was my best vacation too. We went to Jamaica for 10 days and it was amazing. I miss it so much.

Rants/Raves/Stories: Yesterday was my first day back to CrossFit in 2 months! And even though my legs HATE me right now, it felt great! Everyone was glad to see me and said aside from the obvious belly you'd never know I was pregnant (I guess in reference to gaining weight elsewhere)

GTKY: What is the best vacation you ever took? As cliche as it sounds, my honeymoon. We live in Florida, so we didn't want tropical, even though it was a June wedding. We went to Seattle and Victoria BC. We loved the weather and the outdoorsy activities we did (Butchart Gardens, whale watching, outdoor markets, etc). And DH is a saver, so he was able to use his savings to spoil me :-P

I'm jealous you went back! Awesome that you did, I would much rather sleep even though I know it would feel great to be back lifting again.

Also, not cliche, at least not to me. Mine was too, and isn't that the point of honeymoons? To do something/go somewhere you've always wanted or wouldn't normally do?

Man I hope that made sense, I've been working all night.

Week/Baby Size: 18 weeks - sweet potato or bell pepper

    Symptoms: none!

Rants/Raves/Stories: We found out last week we are having a boy!!!! (In my heart I've known it from day 1, but it was nice to confirm :D ). We are so happy and I can finally start shopping!

On a separate note, it's been two weeks since I completed my IPS. I will hear the results at my next appt., but I'm a little nervous because I know my HCG levels were on the low side in the very beggining of this pregnancy, so I'm wondering if results will be out of whack. My NT was perfect though (1mm), so I hope it will be ok.

Upcoming Appointments: OB appointment on the 16th. Was supposed to have anatomy scan yesterday, but since I had an elective US at 17w1d, I postponed the anatomy scan til the 20 week mark.

Questions: I *think* I started feeling some baby flutters yesterday, and in fact just felt one now as I type this. I cannot be sure it's the real deal though as it is so light and faint. This is different than gas though. It feels like a little bubble right in the centre of the uterus. And right now I felt like a slight push or bend on my belly... Is this how you ladies perceive it too?

GTKY: What is the best vacation you ever took? Paris, always! I have gone once a year for the past 6 years and it gets better each time. It's the place where hubby and I feel the happiest and most relaxed. Can't wait to go back, this time with baby. :)
  • Week/Baby Size: 17 & onion

Symptoms: just some annoying stretching cramping, my belly is really starting to pop now

Rants/Raves/Stories: DH accepted a new job and we will be relocating for it. I'm really excited but also nervous because I've never lived more than a half hour from family/friends.

Upcoming Appointments: I have a regular appt the 19th & AS the 23rd. I can't believe it's already so close. This pregnancy is flying.

    Questions: nothing right now

GTKY: What is the best vacation you ever took? Another vote for our honeymoon. We went to Italy, Greece, and Turkey and it was amazing to experience the different cultures. We loved Greece so much we were looking for an ex-pat assignment to spend a few years there but then I got pregnant with DS.

@MrsCayEye I did my study abroad in Greece in college, it was AMAZING! We have plans to go back someday, hopefully...I'd love to take DH to the birthplace of democracy (he's a government teacher).

In Greece, I have only been to Athens and I was so impressed with humanity. What those guys could accomplish 3000 years ago in terms of math, architecture and art is mind blowing!!! I hope to go back and see the islands some day.

We went to Santorini, Mykonos, and Athens while we were in Greece. I totally fell in love with Athens. I was absolutely blown away by the culture there. Everything about it was so impressive. It's somewhere I definitely need to return to and spend more time. I really want to take my kids when they're old enough to appreciate the history and culture they're seeing and experiencing.

I lived in Athens and traveled to Santorini and Aegina (which is a small island only about an hour ferry from Athens). We also visited Corinth, Thessoloniki, Mycenae, Olympia, and some other places I can't remember names of. On my personal travel I went to Cairo and Barcelona...oh to be "young" again lol :)

@thaisac1 Cairo was FANTASTIC. I have been obsessed with ancient Egypt since I saw a Sesame Street video with a little Egyptian boy in it when I was young. To actually get to go there was one of the most amazing experiences ever. It is so different than anywhere else I've been, it's honestly a pretty dirty city, but still so beautiful. I actually taught ancient history, therefore Egypt, for 3 years prior to switching to science teaching.

Also, that bending you mentioned DEFINITELY sounds like baby boy!!!

  • Week/Baby Size: Week 15, Navel Orange

Symptoms: Still sick a ton, starting to have some sciatic nerve pain, encouraged by a double s curved spine!

Rants/Raves/Stories: We unexpectedly had puppies last weekend.  Legit, mama dog could be on the show, I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant.  I'm pumped to love on the pups, but SO over having her shut up in our bathroom all day everyday.  Thank goodness DH brought home some incredible cleaner last night--I couldn't even go into the bathroom without puking anymore!

Upcoming Appointments: 16 week next Monday

    Questions: nope

GTKY: What is the best vacation you ever took?  Either the study abroad summer in Germany when I was 16 or the family reunion trip to Jamaica in 2010.  Freedom at 16 and heaven in paradise!

  • I'm back!!! First of all, baby is measuring PERFECTLY and is super stubborn, didn't want to let the tech get heart measurements until the last possible second, but everything looks great! I am also over the moon to say we will be welcoming a second little GIRL to out family! Seriously beyond thrilled my DD will have a sister!!! And this also means DH is convinced we aren't done so we.can try again for a boy ;)

    Congratulations!!!! :)
  • Week/Baby Size: 16 weeks / Advacado

Symptoms: Always tired! So...tired. My Appetite is back full force. I always feel hungry, but once I start eating I can only eat small portions at a time, which isn't a bad thing.

Rants/Raves/Stories: DH always says he's "too tired" to bond with the bump, but after talking last night, he kissed the bump goodbye before he went to work this morning. My day was made!

On the WTF thread, you can read about the crazy lady who walked into my driveway this morning while my dogs were trying to poop!

Upcoming Appointments: Nov. 20th can't come fast enough!

    Questions: nope

Last Spring, DH and I went on our first cruise to the Bahamas and it was SO FANTASTIC! Carnival ship was great, and the Bahamas were breath taking. We did a lot of nature tours and sight seeing of the towns. So great! We loved it so much that we decided to skip our Hawaii honeymoon and go on another cruise lol so December, pushing close to the pregnancy limit for a cruise, we're sailing out again.

I really thought I was gonna cry if we were having a boy, but I was so happy to see him wiggling around that it didn't even matter anymore! DH was a little more upset because he really wants a little girl.

  • Week/Baby Size: 17 weeks / onion (gross!)

Symptoms: Finally feeling like my old self, now if I can just get back into a workout routine

Rants/Raves/Stories: While on the subway Sunday morning to go cheer on friends running the NYC Marathon my husband and I were talking to this group of older people that were also heading in to cheer for their daughter/niece since it was her first time running.  I had told them about my experience running last year and how I think she'll really enjoy it and my hubby pipes in "Yea she took this year off because she's pregnant" lol like a proud daddy he couldn't wait to get that out.

Upcoming Appointments: Nov 18th check up with my OB and Nov 24th anatomy scan

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is the best vacation you ever took? This past spring we went to Paris.  Hands down the best vacation.  I ran the marathon with some friends, we got to spend time with DH's cousin who lives just outside the city, and DH surprised me with a beautiful night in an old chateau that was converted to a hotel.  After 10 years together this was the night he asked me to be his wife (a month after we came home we got married, at this point why wait lol), so yea, hands down this will always be my best vacation.

  • Week/Baby Size: 18/Sweet Potato

Symptoms: Sore legs & tons of mucus.  Oh and super emotional lately.

    Rants/Raves/Stories: none

Upcoming Appointments: 2 1/2 weeks we have our Anatomy scan.

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is the best vacation you ever took? DH and I used to travel quite a bit but I'd have to say when we took a trip to San Diego/Coronado Island.  Beautiful there.  The other would be our trip NE- we drove from RI to Maine along the coast in the fall.  That was amazing too.

I didn't want to say it earlier cause I didn't want you to be upset at me (especially after reading your recent post about how you got annoyed by a person who guessed you had a girl); but I've had a strong intuition about you having a girl all along.
I cannot explain why but I seem to guess baby sex correctly 90% of the time. Some times I don't get anything, but when I get a strong intuition I'm usually right. This has only happened to people I know In real life, this is the first time it happened with an "online" friend - I must have connected to you on a deeper level. :)

@thaisac1 OMG that's awesome! I love it :) The best thing is that EVERYONE tells me I'm glowing and that I don't look like I've gained anything but a bump, so those old wives tales can take a hike haha :)

I honestly thought I would have slight disappointment either way, since I saw the bright side of either a boy or girl, but I honestly haven't had any disappointment at all. I am so so so excited for the sister bond my girls will have :x

  • Week/Baby Size: 15 / navel orange

Symptoms: daily headaches, usually I wake up with them but sometimes I feel like I'm going to have a great day bc I didn't, but of course they set in by the end of the day

Rants/Raves/Stories: Apparently I looked extra pregnant yesterday and when I showed up at a family's house another therapist totally outed me. So then I had to call all the service coordinators to let them know since families will be finding out soon. I was still gonna wait another few weeks.

    Upcoming Appointments: Nov 13 - 16 week

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is the best vacation you ever took? What a great GTKY! I love talking travel. Our all time favorite place is Spain (Sevilla specifically) since that's where we met while studying abroad and then lived (and got married!) again a few years later. But we don't really think of that as a trip. Our favorite trips are tied for our winter eurail trip - 3 weeks traveling around central and Eastern Europe over Christmas (think fluffy snow, Christmas decorations and markets, and hot mulled wine) - or our month long excursion to SE Asia. They are completely opposite so it's so hard to choose. But I suppose we want to go back to Europe during Christmas again (with the kids some day!), so that's probably the winner.

I spent the last 2 New Years in Paris, and while the Xmas markets are nice I find them way too busy. But 2 years ago we visited Belgium after Paris and I looooved the Xmas vibe there. Brugge was cute as usual, but I was impressed with Brussels during Xmas time actually. I thought the Xmas markets were smaller and cuter than in Paris, and overall a lot of fun. I definitely recommend it. Ah, and they had the MOST awesome carousels in Brussels during the Xmas time, I'm sure your kiddos will love it! I wanted to play in them, that's how awesome they were! :)

But that's awesome that he teaches it! I loved teaching our Egypt unit, middle school is more my speed haha

  • Week/Baby Size: 18 weeks, sweet potato or tall frappuchino

Symptoms: hungry all the time, but nothing sounds good. Slight headache here and there. My hips hurt.

Rants/Raves/Stories: my dad passed away pretty suddenly a little over a week ago and it has not actually hit me he is gone. I was the one he appointed to handle everything and so I did and I knew what he wanted. I just feel weird I haven't had a major crying spell or breakdown. Part of me thinks it's because I found out after he was at least in the beginning stages of cancer and I know it would have been a long fight so this was a more peaceful way for him to pass. I also think it was wonderful we had 15 people there when he passed. The VA Chaplain said it touched them because they are so many veterans who pass with nobody.

But since then we have been putting smiley faces everywhere because when we were little and my parents separated, my dad would draw smiley faces and hide them all over the house. He swore he didn't put them there and we must have happiness elves there. It was really cheesy, but we loved it. So many family members have jumped onboard and even friends. So if you see #smilesforDanny somewhere, it may be for my dad!

I love camping in the mountains! Some of my favorite trips with my family as a kid were our camping trips. I'm from the mountains of NC, so luckily the camping spots weren't far away.
