Hi Mamas! DH and I were out today looking at cribs, and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed.. Where did you go for your crib? Babies R Us? Pottery barn? A larger furniture store? Thanks!
I ordered ours online originally from BRU, I believe. Also looked at Target. There's no PB/PBK in my area and I just can't justify spending that much so I wishful thinking window shop online.
Gave it away about a month before we found out I was pregnant with #2.. funny how that worked out.
Target online - ILs got it for us and it wouldn't have fit in either of their cars, so she order it and had it shipped straight to our house (yay Red card!)
Bru has amazing protection if you ask me. Went through them. Got most of my big ticket items from there. Had an issue with me breast pump and they just told me to go to the store and buy a new one and send them the receipt. They sent me a check and never asked to see the old one. It was a small problem too.
BRU, I think the brand is baby cache? All of his furniture has held up beautifully and he is rough on it. We got a cheaper one (around $100) from Amazon for our beach house and that works just fine too and has also held up well.
We got ours from PB, not sure of the name but it is the one that converts to a toddler bed and is on sale now for $399 I think? It is 2.5 years old, still looks brand new and we will be getting another one (expecting twins). It's a little more $$$ but we plan on using them to convert to the toddler beds.
I got a nice one for about $120 from wal mart, it's white but nice and sturdy, best part is I didn't spend too much on it! Mattress was bought separately from BRU $40 I believe.
Buy buy baby and the crib still looks brand new. We also purchased the toddler and full size rails which we have yet to use. We'll be going to look at new cribs at Buy Buy Baby again or Pottery Barn.
We got a pembrooke crib from BRU and we love it. There was an issue with holes being drilled on the outside of the front corner pieces, but I just took pictures and contacted the company and they sent us new ones for free. It didn't impact the crib in any way, it was just unsightly.
Nothing fancy here, but it's sturdy and it works. I got this one in espresso. You can adjust the mattress in three different levels. We didn't put the wheels on or else she'd be skating all over the floor.
It's affordable, sturdy, already been taken down and put back up with no problems (we moved). It's also high enough where she cannot climb out of it yet and she's 2. It also converts into a toddler bed.
This will be baby #3 to use this crib. It's held up quite well and I love the look of it (this line seems to do knock-offs of very expensive modern-looking lines like Oeuf).
We did BRU during the trade in event (usually end of January). You trade in a larger item (stroller, carseat, etc) and get 25% off a large item. Some one gave us some hand me down stuff we didn't want to use (too old) and traded in an old stroller for the coupon. Then we went and found a crib we liked (that was also on clearnance) and used the 25% off of that. Worked out well for us.
We got ours from buy buy baby. It's held up pretty well except the bite marks from my son gnawing on the crib rail. (He found his way around the rail protectors haha) Oh well, he can explain it to his friends when he's older since it converts to a full sized bed haha
I'm a FTM but we're getting ours from Target. The Storkcraft Venetian is gorgeous and less than $200. Some of the cribs we've looked at, like the Dream on me, seem so dinky. I don't like that I can literally shake the front of the crib.
Ikea... we didn't want to spend a ton on a crib, and our nursery is very modern so it works well! My MIL bought a much fancier and more expensive crib for him, and they're both perfectly functional! So personally I wouldn't spend a lot, but it just depends on what you want.

BRU. It's a baby cache heritage. Still has held up very well but whole set was pricey. Conversion kit was discontinued so not sure what future plans are when DD outgrows it. She's going to stay in there as long as possible!
@yodiggity, OMG I love that one you linked! I can't seem to make up my damn mind. I thought we were settled on a basic IKEA one, but then I like the Wal-mart one linked yesterday and I luuuuuurv that one. Arghhhhh.
For DS we bought one from Pottery Barn. It is nice, but really nothing great...if I had to do it again I wouldn't spend the money on it. For DD we bought one from Ikea and it has been great. This LO will get one of the two cribs we already have. DS will transition to a big boy bed when we move in about a month...he stayed in his crib for a 3 1/2 years and I think DD will have nothing to do with her crib once she sees her big brother in a regular bed (she'll be 2 in January and copies his every move).
Walmart. It was 115 and it's very cute. I'm going to use it for baby #2 because my sin wasn't allowed to sleep on his back flat so he was in his swing and after his open heart surgery he still won't sleep flat. :I

What one did you get? I was just looking at one from there with a drawer under it.
