Since one of America's best holidays is just next month let's talk about what you plan on cooking on the big day. I think I'm the most excited I've ever been for Thanksgiving, because I'm living under this beautiful delusion that when Thanksgiving occurs, I'll be so far along in my pregnancy that MS will disappear and I will finally enjoy eating food again. Beautiful, greasy, fattening, non gagging inspired food. So please feel free to join me in discussing what you'll be cooking up, and let's give each other virtual food-gasms.
Re: Let's Talk Thanksgiving
if I flip out at least I can blame it on hormones
That's means shrimp cocktail and veggies. :-)

@mrszoess what are these gloves you speak of?? I'll be looking them up as soon as I'm done here!
We host Thanksgiving, so I'll be making turkey, ham (DHs grandma doesn't eat poultry, so they always have ham and turkey) mashed potatoes, roasted sweet potatoes, stuffing, maybe Brussels sprouts, and an app or two. Last year I made butternut squash soup for an appetizer and it was pretty good, so I may be doing the same. I'll probably make a paleo dessert for my sister and me, as she can't have gluten or dairy, and I can't have refined sugar.
I'm hungry. Also, maternity pants.
also: maternity pants should be aka holiday eating pants. def super excited for that.
I am also excited that I will be over 12 weeks pregnant and we will probably share the news with such friends!

Cran sauce
Rolls
Green bean casserole
Corn bread pudding
Pumpkin pie w/ ice cream and whipped cream
Caramelized carrots
Apple cider
I'm sure I'm forgetting some things. Having t day at my moms house and everyone has to bring something. Dh and I are contributing stuffing, so I've been looking up recipes all week. I just refuse to bring boxed stuffing since I figured we only have to do one thing so we might all well try to do it properly. So if anyone has an amazing stuffing recipe I'd LOVE to get my mits on it!

Aw. But I'm sure they felt so honored to be able to help you bring life into the world that special day! I'm always blessed in some way or another on holidays that I have to work (at least Christmas or thanksgiving every year.. Usually we rotate which one).. It's not fun being away from family on these days but it's meaningful to me to be able to love on someone else who may feel equally sad (if not more) that they are sick during the holidays. Especially in my unit. I work critical care so my patients can be extremely sick and facing horrible decisions.
That being said, I work the day before and day after haha. But I'm off the weekend following thanksgiving so maybe we will do something small that weekend. I'm ok with leftovers.. Actually my all day nausea today has got me more ok with working thanksgiving just because the food sounds repulsive right now lol
