I'm 35 and will be 36 when this one is born. This is my second. My dd is 17! DH is 42 and has 2 children 19 & 14! I'm happy to see so many of us "older" moms on here!
@cdnrunning Glad to see I'm not the only old lady with a younger husband! I'm 40 and my husband is 32

@redheadbride15 - I'm in a very similar situation. I'm 39 and this is my first. (DH has two children: ages 16 and 14.) We got pregnant the first time we tried so it was easier for us than we planned, as well. We were married in May and I'm due May 2016. Exciting changes for us. Congratulations to you and your new hubs!

Hi! I think I'm the oldest so far, 42 now and will be 43 when the baby is born. I have two DD 15 and 17 from a previous relationship. I'm also a cougar, DH is 36! I took my iud out in September 2014 and I only have one Fallopian tube from a ruptured ectopic so I was starting to think maybe I couldn't get pregnant. I'm 7 weeks and so excited but also nervous. I'll feel much better after 12 weeks when I've done testing and my chance of MC decreases.
Hi everyone! I met SO at 37, had #1 at 38 (june 2014) then miscarried in december & april. Hoping this one sticks! So far so good & have passed the hurdles of the two mcs. LO will arrive for my 40th birthday!! Congrats to everyone here!!
Hi! I'll be 35 in December. This is my pregnancy #5. First two being m/c 's about 10 years ago. I have a 4 year old, a 1.5 year old surrobabe and 8weeks with my own #2! Currently wondering what I was thinking. ..lol!
I will be 39 when this baby arrives, was 36 for my first. I liked all the extra ultrasounds I got the first time around b/c of my 'advanced maternal age', but my doc switched practices and the new place doesn't seem to have the same policy so I'm stuck waiting two more weeks for my first appointment (8 weeks).
Soon to be 40 yr old cougar here with a 32 yr old hubby. I'm 6 wks 3 days preggos and I get my first ultrasound tomorrow. This is not my first rodeo..lol I have 7 kids, not including my surrogacy twin boys that live in France with their family. So really I have given birth to 9 kids...hopefully #10 is healthy and if so then he/she will be here June 20th. This is my husband and my 2nd child together. My eldest is 21 and a mom of a 1 yr old so yes I'm already a Grandma! Yup! That's right, grandma's having a baby! Lol so that's me in a crazy nut shell!

Hi all! I had my first at 34, am 36 now. Hubs is 38. In my group of close friends (all my age or older), I was the first one to have a kid, so I don't feel particularly geriatric. Also I'm getting no bonuses for being AMA- my first doctor visit and ultrasound is at 10 weeks. Happy and healthy pregnancies to all of us AMAers!
Hi! I'm 34 and only 5 weeks pregnant for the first time! I'll be 35 when the baby is born and my husband will be 40. We met 7 years ago, but just got married last year. We have wanted this for a long time, and I often feel like I'm old to be having my first. So it's sooooo nice to hear from all of you! There are more of us out there than I originally thought.
Hi all! I think we should be called mAMAs. I'm 37, 38 when this babe comes. Dh is 43. We were totally shocked by this one. We were d-u-n done. Well, here I am 9 weeks! I go for u/s tomorrow and I'm going to talk to my dr. About the materna21. They offered it last time, but I declined. I have ds5, dd4, dd2. I'm getting excited for adding one more! I missed this thread the previous times on this board. I am so relieved that there are other mAMAs here!
So, I had my first appointment - and there was no mention of any of the special testing mentioned above - just the usual IPS test. Any other Canadian mamas have this experience?
I am 38, as of August, and will still be 38 when our baby is born!
I was married previously, in a not-so-good marriage, and simply refused to get pregnant with the relationship being rocky.
Divorced years ago, met the love of my life (boy does that change everything!), and he was also divorced. He had 2 kids from his first marriage, and I had none. So, here I am, 38 with my first! Yay!
I am so excited! And so happy to see all these other wonderful mature mommy's here as well!
I am certainly nervous about any issues being 'older' may bring on. Crossing my fingers for all to go well!!
I turned 37 last month, and this is our first. We'll be 6 weeks tomorrow. I wasn't convinced I wanted children, but this has been such a lovely surprise. Now it's all I can think about!
Hey mamas! I'm 35, this is our first. Pregnant through IVF. I'm just 8 weeks so don't completely trust it yet but trying to enjoy each day. Congratulations to everyone here!
In the boat with you other ladies. I turned 35 just days after conception. I had my dd at 33 so its still fresh. I guess this just doesn't feel any different.
Yes! This is our first pregnancy after losing our first. I'm 36, and feel quite old when I go in for appointments. Strangely still don't feel that ready! We are excited though, adding a baby to our marriage will be wonderful and scary and thrilling all at the same time! Congrats to you!

I'm 34 and this will be my first. At my ultrasound last night, my doctor said "Don't freak out, but I have to mark your file as "elderly" because you'll be 35 when the baby arrives." LOL
I'm 42, will be 43 when this one arrives. I have a 9 year old from a previous marriage. This baby was a compete surprise! My BF, who is 30, freaked out at first but he's done a 180 and is so excited and caring. I am so exhausted but will be glad to put up with that if this will be my sticky baby.
So, I had my first appointment - and there was no mention of any of the special testing mentioned above - just the usual IPS test. Any other Canadian mamas have this experience?
I'm a Canadian Mom, and I've been offered extra testing. I live in a rural area, so I'm being flown to Vancouver for a Nuchal translucency ultrasound that we can't do here. There is another newer blood test that is not yet covered by health insurance here, so it's pricey. We will wait and see how all the tests turn out before going for that.
I'm 36, my husband is 37. We've been married almost 8 years. This is our first but my third pregnancy after a blighted ovum and chemical pregnancy. We did fertility treatments (clomid, then gonal f) for about 6 months this year and now I'm finally having a baby! Crazy thing is I have several friends due around the same time, mostly with their 2nd and 3rd babies, but we are all 35 or older. Really nice to have them around!
I'm 35, 36 when baby is born. This is my first pregnancy. Me and my husband have been trying for 14 years. We went through tons of testing and some fertility treatments and when they started talking about IVF, we decided to stop. I was not on birth control but we were not really trying any more either. We are over the moon excited about this baby! Take that science!! Lol
