GD recipes

What are You ladies making for dinner? Just found out today and the work day and snacks seem easy to manage. But I am wondering if You have any good GD friendly dinner ideas? Thanks in advance!

Re: GD recipes

  • This seems like it would be gestational diabetes friendly (though I'm not 100% sure.)  I think if you omit the rice on the side or use brown rice it would be good!  This is what I'm planning to make for Sunday night dinner.  :)

  • Steak and salad:)
  • Roasted veggies and a protein are my go to! Also sweet potatoes are great for a healthy carb. Brown or multi grain rice is good too. Trying not to put any store bought sauces and only adding spices or homemade sauce without sugar. Look up paleo recipes If you need ideas as most are GD friendly :)
  • I haven't been diagnosed with GD but I've been making a lot of carrot and swede mash as a substitute for mashed potato, super easy and tasty and cuts out a lot of those carbs.
  • I've been doing meat with roasted veggies. That way I can weigh out my portion to check the carb count and DH can help himself to as much as he wants.
Rice gives me a high reading every time but a small serve of pasta with a meat based sauce and side salad with oil and vinegar dressing seems to be ok.
