Nausea worse at 13 weeks?

I'm 13 weeks today and my nausea appears to be getting worse, not better. Anyone else out there have this issue? It's so disheartening. I've been on tons of different meds since week 6 (diglegis, reglan, phenergen), and nothing has helped that much. I haven't been able to enjoy this at all yet and when you read the week by week summaries online most say "By now most women will see their nausea subside!" I just want to feel better to get out of this seriously depressing state of mind, but part of me is scared that I'm in for sickness for the full nine months.

Re: Nausea worse at 13 weeks?

  • I'm 13 1/2 weeks (I am trying to figure out why my weekly calculation is different than my doctors) and my nausea has also gotten so much worse in the last week and a half.  It wasn't this bad through the whole first trimester... it's kind of a bummer.  I also never felt this bad with DS!

  • I've never had it bad enough to need meds but I can tell you with my DD, it got a lot worse right before it got better. But when it got better, it was sudden.

  • I am with you. There have been a few days I purposefully don't take my anti-nausea meds because I am convinced I am over the hump. And then, surprise surprise, I am vomiting all day! I hate the idea of having to take medication for my entire pregnancy, but I guess that it going to be the case. It does really suck when you think about how you should be feeling better, but aren't. Hopefully you get some relief, but in the meantime know there are those of us "lucky" ones still riding the nausea wave!

  • I'm with you still! I'm 13 weeks today and admittedly I have felt better for the past 2 mornings, but not well enough to stop taking diclegis. And the evenings are horrible. I almost threw up today but actually managed to keep it down, so I guess that was a victory. Anyway, try not to give up hope. With my last I didn't have it this bad, but I do remember that the nausea stuck around until 15 or 16 weeks... And even after that I still gagged every single time I brushed my teeth for many weeks, but aside from that I was ok. Sometimes it takes longer than 13 weeks. I hope things turn around to all of us soon!
  • I'm only at 11.3 weeks but mine disappeared at 10.2 weeks to only come back full force 2 days ago. So hoping I am almost at the end so I can enjoy seeing smelling making and eating food again.
  • I'm 12.5 weeks and forgot to take my anti-nausea meds last night. Guess who spent the morning throwing up in the ladies room at work......this girl. :( Boo. I hope this sickness ends quickly.

    Hang in there.

  • 13w1d here. I am still throwing up every day, too! I feel your pain! :-&
  • 13 weeks 3 days here. I felt nauseous before but didn't throw up until last week. Just thinking about nasty smells etc. sets me off at the moment. It sucks and I hope it passes soon, but some people don't get sick until later on, and some are sick the whole nine months. FX everyone feels better soon!
  • I'm 12w2d and I've definitely been feeling significantly worse the last few days. I REALLY hope I start feeling better.  I'm ready to have some energy back too.  I know I have another week before I'm in the second trimester.  This nausea and exaustion is really getting to me.

This is exactly what happened in my last pregnancy too. I'm a puker, but my last pregnancy was so, so much worse. It got way more intense at 13/14 weeks until I suddenly stopped throwing up at 16 weeks on the dot, and I felt zero nausea by 17 weeks. Hang in there. It's hard to feel romantic about becoming a mother when all you know of motherhood is throwing up. It's worth it!! You won't remember how horrible you feel now when you're gazing into your baby's eyes and snuggling soft newborn hair.
  • Thankfully, food has always stayed down, but getting it down has been iffy. The nausea was constant for 2 weeks, gone the next week, off and on with one really awful day this last month, and now back full force at 12w. Ugh. And I have a headache, which used to come with nausea pre-pregnancy, so that may not be helping any. Food is not my friend right now. Hoping it eases soon.
  • Thanks ladies! Not that I want any of us to be sick but it helps to know I'm not alone. Really hoping we start to turn a corner soon - maybe when we feel better we can post so there's hope for the rest of us? I know sometimes it can take up to 15-18 weeks - just feels crappy to wait that long!!
  • I'm 11 weeks and the past couple days my nausea has seemed so much worse! I'm really hoping it's worse right before it gets better.
  • I haven't taken Zofran in 2 weeks. I was down to throwing up once a day and usually at night. The nausea was bearable during the day. I haven't thrown up since Sat. I have felt better in general last week and starting working out again. Certain things can still trigger sickness. I'll be 13 weeks Saturday. I'm hoping for an increase in energy in addition to not feeling sick!
