I'm due dec 21st when that day comes do I go to the hospital that day and induce me or do I wait until it my water breaks? Are due dates just rough estimates dates or do you just appear in that date.
@meowcat84 The due date is a rough estimate of when you "should" expect little one. Depending on your how your Dr or midwife feels you could wait longer, or be induced earlier. It really depends on the baby's size, and a few other factors. Are you worried about going over til Christmas?

What has your doctor said about due dates, inductions, etc.?
Get a pregnancy book and start reading on what to expect from labor.

So many rude responses, excuse me I was just curious, didn't know there were so many experts on this forums. I don't need bitchy comments.
No one was rude. I'm seriously curious if you have been to see a doctor. If that was a legitimate question then you really do need to do a little research on pregnancy and child birth. I do hope everything works out for you though!

I'm genuinely confused as to how you're in your 3rd trimester and don't know this information. I'd find it more understandable if you just found out you were pregnant but I'm baffled about how you're missing basic info.

Oh stop that. If you want a statistic, that can be provided by googling. Don't tell people they are being bitchy. This question worries me because you clearly need to speak with your doctor. Due dates are based off of your dating exam. You can go into labor at any time, and if you go a few days over your due date, they will definitely start talking about inducing. Not everyone's water breaks. Seriously, talk to your medical team.
Just asking ask simple question from people's own experience.
Actually, no. You asked if you should go to the hospital to be induced on your EDD (ESTIMATED delivery date). There is nothing simple about that question, nor does it refer to anyone else's experience.

But it really isn't just a simple question. It is something that if you don't understand (which you clearly don't) then you should be discussing this, in detail, with your doctor.
Again, have you read a pregnancy book or consulted with a doctor?

I think people are reacting the way they are because your post is a little unsettling. I worry for you if you are at the tail end of your pregnancy and you don't know the basics about how it all works. Perhaps you worded your questions differently than how you intended them to come out but it sounds like you have no idea how labor and delivery works which is a little scary honestly. You have a baby coming and these are things your doctor should have gone over with you or you should have at least learned from a book. Good luck OP.
Sorry if it's harsh, but for the health and well-being of yourself and your baby, please please please talk to a doctor. I really think there is a lot you are unclear on.

I'm not entirely sure asking about the experience from a small subset of people that may or may not have already had children is really all that helpful in your situation, though. Seriously. Speak with your doctor. Discuss a birth plan and signs of labor and what to do when you go in to labor.
Thank you. I am very scared and anxious I have a class I'm taking soon but I am also asking. Questions to ease my fear now. Sorry for any hostility I am freaking out and may not be asking questions correctly.

No worries. It's normal to be scared and anxious, but I think talking with your medical team will make you feel A LOT better.
I also highly recommend getting a book such as What to Expect When You're Expecting or any number of other books there are out there for questions and information on pregnancy, labor, and delivery.

Freaking out is normal. But there is no excuse for not understanding your pregnancy and your upcoming labor! It's for your own benefit. Good luck!

I am truly curious if OP has done any reading or has seen a doctor in regards to her pregnancy.
