My missy will be 19 weeks tomorrow... At birth she was 8.6 pounds and 21 inches long Today she is 17.11 pounds and 27.5 inches long She's breastfed only
Sebastian weighed 8lbs 15 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. We do a combination of both bit will most likely move to just formula soon. I went back to work and my supply suffered, I'm not beating myself up though. My kid's happy and healthy, that's all that matters.
At four months he weighs 14 lbs 9oz and is 29 inches long. He is a long, skinny boy.
ETA forgot to put his 4m stats on here, what was the point of posting his newborn stuff if I didn't show how much he's grown lol.
Finally! 4 months on the 17th but her appt was today.
At birth: 7 lb 8 oz, 19.75"
4 months: 13 lb 11 oz, 24.5"
And I'm giving LO the Happy Baby award. She has an ear infection but has been nothing but smiles and babbles and giggles. We never would have known. Picture was right before shots.
Sorry about the ear infection LO has one too and she had no symptoms either! We brought her to the doc for her cold and the pedi was like "by the way she has an ear infection". Wtf? I swear going to the doc is like going to a mechanic. She keeps finding new things. (But of course no solution for the cold beyond ... Time).
Anyone else with big babies feel like people think your LO is older than he/she really is? In the beginning people would think he was old enough to hold up his head when he clearly wasn't.

Yes, always. LO resembles the 6-9 month olds in her daycare class more than the other 4 month olds. The other 4 month olds are like half her size. I assume this will slow down when she starts moving...DH and I are both small people so she can't be big forever! I'm 5'3" 125 and dh is 5'9" 145. How did this happen!!

Yes! It made me so nervous when people would pick him up.

Yes they think he's a year old or almost a year.. But if I remember your LO is even bigger than mine.. My back hurts
^^^ Yes LO was over 17lbs at 8 weeks. That was when it was a huge issue, we had to remind everyone how young he was. Men would want to toss him the air, people would over bounce him. His newborn face went away quick. He looks like a one year old so now I wonder if people think he's delayed. I had him at the pool today and he looked like a giant blob of mush lying in the shallow water.
My back hurts but my abs and arms ate looking jacked. He's the best workout. Nursing him if I can't lounge is insane. 10 minute static hold of 20-21 lbs.
LO turned 4 months on the 19th and had his appt on the 23rd.
Weights: Birth: 9lbs, 0 oz. 4m: 15lbs, 1 oz.

Jealousssss!!! My kid was born there, and the pediatric care is amazing. And December is so magical with all the Christmas markets. It will be so fun with the baby!
@virginiaunicorn11 We're pretty excited! What area were you in? Are you military? My husband is with the Army, and they're sending us to Vilseck/Grafenwöhr in Bavaria.

The absolute best area for the Christmas markets!!! Awesome.
I had a fellowship there last year, so DH and I spent 13 months there. We wanted to stay, but it didn't work out, unfortunately. As I said, I'm super jealous you get to go! Good luck!
What were some of the topics or questions y'all asked at the 4 month apt? I always feel when I get to the doc I have no questions then hours later I think, "damn it I forgot..."

Yes, please! Because I go tomorrow and I know I wanted to ask stuff and I have completely forgotten it all.
- best formula for supplementing in case we need to start doing that now that she is eating more
- what to do about the weird scales that are still on her scalp
- if i need to buy new probiotics since i didn't realize they needed to be refrigerated at first (whoops). . i didn't by the way, just keep them in the fridge from now on
- What to do about clogged tear ducts - we have had a couple of pretty crusty eyes that aren't pink eye
I asked about: -Starting solids with LO's sensitivities -Tapering off the prescription antacids -Cutting out the last MOTN feed
@hudson202 We still have cradle cap too! I should have asked about it. The little brush from the hospital doesn't work so we've started using a comb. LO really likes having her head scratched. This should probably go in FFFC but then I used the cats' flea comb to get the loose flakes out of her hair. I'm a classy mom, I know.
^^congrats!! What an accomplishment, especially doing it while having a LO!
Thanks!! Hubby and I weren't actively trying to get pregnant but it happened. And by the luck of the draw I had her during summer break. Definitely isn't easy. But having a great hubby and parents really help!
Struggling just a tad with weight gain again. Some tweaks will be made to his feeding schedule and regimen. Nothing too serious but something to be conscious and aware of. Looks like I'm back to weight checks every 2 weeks or so tho (Not drs orders, just me following up and making sure its going OK)
@mellymar - My guy was just over 13# at 4.5 months (didn't get the exact height, but he's 30th percentile for height, 20th for weight. This thread makes me feel like I'm dropping the ball by not recording his stats each month ).
LO eats constantly... I don't know where it all goes! (Have a feeling I'm going to be saying that for the next 18 years, haha)
I try to see the positives of having a petite baby... like right now he can still fit some 3 mos outfits in addition to 6 mos, so less frequent laundry. And it sure feels like he's growing plenty fast to us, even if "statistically" he's not. Babies grow at a slower rate between now and one year, so there is plenty of time to catch up.
