  • Progress (week/day): 11+4

Symptoms: digestive, insomnia, anxiety, food aversions

Rants/Raves/Questions: flat out nausea seems to have stopped and I'm praying for an easy week symptom wise as I am on a plane headed to a work event with long days, late nights, and early mornings. Just gotta power through. Took Thursday off to recover.

Symptoms: Morning sickness shows up sometime between 3 and 4:00 in the afternoon. Typically this is a headache, sometimes nausea/throwing up a little in mouth only. Currently week 11, then 12 on Thursday.

Any ideas about how to help with this are greatly appreciated.
  • Progress (week/day): 8w6d

Symptoms: still no ms. The bloat is still terrible. I'm tired all the time. I realized I have an aversion to tomatoes, however food with a tomatoe sauce is fine.

Rants/Raves/Questions: so I have been getting over a minor cold, if you could call it that. It's basically a runny nose and my ears are plugged up. It's annoying!

  • Progress (week/day): 11/1

Symptoms: Almost every symptom is gone- boobs not as sore, not as tired, any queasiness I had is gone. The only thing that I had is discharge. I know around this time, its pretty common for symptoms to fade. But still have that uneasy feeling that something is wrong, so cant wait to see baby again next week!

Rants/Raves/Questions: I think my kid hates meat, which is making finding food options, especially for dinner, very tough. Yesterday the only thing I could stomach was apple crumb cake. Which was delicious, but obviously, not very healthy. I am starting to worry a bit about GD, especially since I have tested border line diabetic in the past. Any suggestions on food? I am more of a grazer- a banana here, some cheese there. But figuring out dinner has been a challenge, especially since DH is a meal kinda guy and would eat meat at every meal.

Maybe its not a cold? Maybe you have pregnant lady nasal issues?

  • @yogahh my baby is turning me into a vegetarian, so I am in the exact same boat as you. Even the thought of meat makes me gag. I have been eating lots of Greek yogurt and salads lately which is highly out of character for me.
  • @yogahh Yeah I just sent a message to my doctor yesterday and hoping to hear back today. I got my flu shot on Wednsday morning and by the afternoon everything started. So I am sort of wondering if it is from that. TMI everything that comes out of my nose is clear and no fever. That makes me think it's not cold related.

For your meat issues, have you tried smaller portions? I think in the U.S. we eat way too big of meat portions. Otherwise maybe eat beans/nuts for protein. I always make sure to bring a lot of food with me to work so I have options in case something isn't sitting right.

  • sarawifenow, I tried some Greek yogurt the other day, and it made me gag. To be fair, I ate SO much of it earlier this year when I was on Wedding Diet, and now I am just over it. And the thought of salad is also pretty unappetizing. I guess Ill be living on a diet of apple crumb cake ;)

m6agua , I had one bite of meat yesterday and had to spit it out. My issue is I cant even handle the thought of it, so def not eating too much of it! I am fine at work since I can nibble and graze. Its really just dinner time that I cant figure out since my idea of dinner (cereal) it totally different than DH idea (chicken parm). As for the flu shot, I have heard that its just a myth that it makes you sick. Hopefully your doctor gets back to you! There is nothing worse than a cold, and not being able to treat it!

  • Progress (week/day): 13+3

Symptoms: Still exhausted and experiencing RLP but my biggest complaint right now is shortness of breath. I typically get it in the mornings when I'm getting ready and feel totally winded after drying my hair. Today I couldn't catch my breath until I'd been sitting at my desk for 15 minutes. It is frustrating more than anything and I have to work hard not to panic.

Rants/Raves/Questions: Boo cellulite and veins! Boo redness on my face! 2nd tri is near, YAY!
  • Progress (week/day): 12+2

Symptoms: My nausea has gotten better, yay!  I am still struggling; however, with food aversions and many foods not tasting right.  I really want to eat healthy but so many foods are gross to me.  Headaches and lower back pain are kicking in.  I spent all of last evening on a heating pad.

Rants/Raves/Questions: For anyone starting to look at registry items, I have a RAVE for www.lucieslist.com.  I really like the way she breaks everything down and makes it easy to understand.  Plus, she's pretty funny!

  • @schicksal That's the sort of morning sickness I've had this time around, though it struck in the early morning too. I have a few suggestions your SO could try that helped with both the headache and nausea. If she can try to snack a little before the nausea usually hits, that helps. Not a lot of food, but something with protein and carbs is best-- like almonds and dried fruit, or cheese and crackers. Also, drink lots and lots of water. I drink about 32oz every 1.5-2 hrs to stave off the worst of the hangover-ms feelings. I liked putting lemon in mine too because sour things helped me to feel less nauseated (added bonus that it helps combat bloat). Keeping well rested helps as well. GL!

11w6d Symptoms: The worst of the ms seems to be gone, but breast tenderness and fatigue are sticking around. RLP, restless legs, and some lower back pain at night.
  • Progress (week/day): 12w6d

Symptoms: Probably TMI.... Yeast infection! Damn you, body. Thank God my doc okayed Monistat, so that's helping. Otherwise, nausea, vomiting on occasion, exhaustion, sore boobs, major food aversions.

Rants/Raves/Questions: none I can think of.
  • 11w 3d

I am so. freaking. tired! Bloating, which makes me not want to eat/being very picky about what I'm in the mood to eat. Still have sore boobs, and nausea comes every now and then especially in the car.

We told our family this weekend! Everyone was super excited :)

  • @yogahh Can you eat thing with the protien hidden in it for dinner? Maybe make a soup or chili, or a casserole? Would that work for your husband? Otherwise I would say make 2 different meals.

I was thinking chili, too. The chili flavor overpowers the meat, or even if you just make it with beans at least you're getting protein that way.

I have done this a few times, and it has worked! Always a good idea ;)

Many thanks! I'll be sure to pass this along.
  • Progress (week/day): 9 weeks 4 days

Symptoms: nausea off and on but no throwing up since I got over a horrible stomach bug last week. But bloated as hell. And food aversions. Constipation and peeing constantly. Latest craving - Airheads/Laffy Taffy ... Mmmm...

Rants/Raves/Questions: How do you all get your fiber in? I'm terrible about that. Last pregnancy I had the fiber gummies but I can't seem to find them lately at Walgreens/Walmart/Target/Albertson's ... I'll keep looking.

For those of you with meat aversions, I have it too. I could live on bean and cheese burritos and peanut butter crackers. Not necessarily super healthy, but they have some protein. Protein shakes are good too, I like Intek Evolution chocolate protein powder mixed with water. Tastes so good!

  • Progress (week/day): 9w3d

Symptoms: Same. Fatigue, some food aversions, headaches/migraines, back pain, sore beasts, trouble sleeping.

Rants/Raves/Questions: Had some spotting on Saturday, went in today for an u/s and everything is looking perfect! They think it might've just been some weird fluke.
  • @yogahh I've been on a total carb binge, I throw everything else up. I feel like a terrible person every morning when I eat either a pumpkin crumb muffin or a bagel with cream cheese, and then I have a carb for lunch and more carbs for dinner. I do manage to squeeze in an acai smoothie for some fruit during the day. I'm seriously hoping for a miracle in second trimester so I can get off the carb train and get back to my healthy eating. I started this pregnancy out heavy, and I was eating so so well for months trying to lose weight, and now I feel like the biggest slump ever over here with all my carbs. Hoping as you approach your second trimester you can keep more than carbs in your diet also!!

    11 weeks 4 days.
Slightly less tired during the day but still very exhausted. One day of my weekend is spent sleeping!!
My backpain has become intolerable. Saw chiro today (first time ever). He thinks my pelvis is not straight and my diaphragm is pushed out ( chest/rib cage has definitely expanded in the last weeks. So I'll give it a shot and pay lots of money twice a week for a chiro now.... Hope it works!!
@yogahh :-) don't worry you don't need meat for a healthy pregnancy. Fact ;-) ( vegetarian here with very good iron levels etc) . Just eat balanced and try to get your B vitamins and co with foods like lentils , whole grains , beans , nuts , etc :-) if you are super worried take a prenatal which you might do already.
    :-)

Other than that: bye bye waist! Dresses are my new best friend. Just the thought of pants hurts.

And : glorious bloat and other airy side effects ... I feel so very glamorous..

    Progress (week/day): 12 wks, 3 days

Symptoms: Nausea has mostly subsided. Boobs still sore, but not nearly as much as they were before. But, I'm starting to feel kind of "acid reflux-y" here and there. Also, suddenly my gums are so horribly sensitive and are bleeding constantly! I wake up almost every night to go pee and I look in the mirror to see blood all over my teeth. I hate it so much. The inside of my nose is also really dry and bleedy as well -_- Starting to feel short of breath at times and kind of light headed as well.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I really want a latte, but I'm kind of wary of the espresso part... also, I want healthy food but healthy food is too dang expensive. :( Also, at the beginning I was craving soo many things and once I ate them I was very content. Now, nothing sounds very good at all.

Girl the commute from thre city to bay ridge was horrible tonight. I just had to keep saying to myself "don't fart don't fart" while stabbing pains in my stomach. I can't handle these pains but I want to give birth without an epidural?!?!

We had terrible delays on the A train tonight too and I swear I had the same mantra while we were stuck in the tunnel!!
  • This is my first symptoms post...
    I'm 10 weeks 1 day

Symptoms: exhausted! Until the last few days, I have not been this tired yet. Is that normal? My boobs stopped hurting last week; which I guess is a good thing! :D and I've never had morning sickness, nausea, or food aversions. I am craving anything cinnamon!

Rants/raves/questions: did anyone's fatigue/exhaustion get worse after the first 8 weeks? Is it okay that my boobs don't hurt anymore or should I be worried? and is anyone else worried all the time through the first trimester?
    Thanks moms!
  • @babykasper worrying is very common and I'm pretty sure it lasts beyond labor and delivery, worrying about our LOs is the new normal :) . My fatigue hasn't increased but it is still going strong at 13+4, I can't stay up past 9:30 and get waves of exhaustion throughout the day. My boobs stopped hurting all the time about 2 weeks ago, I only wake up sore occasionally now. I think symptoms coming and going in pregnancy is common but if anything is really worrisome you should definitely check in with your doctor. We've had quite a few threads about worrying and symptoms/lack of symptoms - take a look back and I think you may find some helpful insights from our lil' May 2016 community.

  • @LadySamLady
Thanks! And I too can't stay up later than 9ish and I've even been napping during the day sometimes! Lol I work from home so it's easier for me than most... But the exhaustion has sky rocketed this week! Soooooo tired!

hahahha... i had my first chiropractor appointment yesterday..... I was soooo tensed up, as i was terrified to fart in his face while he was adjusting me....
I also now have the magical power to wake myself and DH up at night with fairly loud... "trumpet noises".

  • I am SUPER emotional today. Literally crying at my desk right now. I'm not depressed or anything, just having a wave of emotions that won't quit. I know what is upsetting me and it isn't the kind of thing I normally cry about but no matter what I tell myself I can't seem to rationalize the sad feelings away.

It's so frustrating! I wish I could just laugh and be like "oh hormones" but instead I'm crying into my honey nut cheerios like a crazyface.

That was me yesterday! My daughter was sick, grumpy, and refused to nap. Normally I can shrug this stuff off, especially when I know she's only being a terror because she feels like crap, but not yesterday. By about 2 pm we were both laying on the floor crying. I seriously felt like my whole world was crumbling! It was miserable.

I just keep reminding myself that this too shall pass. Hang in there :)
  • Progress (week/day): week 12

    Symptoms: insomnia, random food cravings/aversions

Rants/Raves/Questions: For the past week or so, my bladder/stomach are really heavy when I wake up, like I'm going to burst. I usually lay in bed for around five minutes and the feeling greatly decreases. Does anyone else experience this/know what it is?

Have you tried having a snack around 2:30-3? It seems like a lot of morning sickness issues are related to blood sugar levels.

Espresso actually has less caffine than a cup of coffee. Plus, there's also decaf espresso. I don't have lattes often (2-4 per month) but I totally still enjoy them.

    Progress: 12+2

Symptoms: nausea, several food aversions, headaches. On the bright side I haven't puked in a week and my boobs don't hurt anymore :)

Rants/raves/questions: sooooooo moody! Which I guess is a symptom too but lordy! This is my 3rd and I've never been this emotional ever! Everything either ticks me off or makes me cry or both! Does anyone know any good methods to deal with that? I have a 2 year old, 10 month old and I babysit a 4 year old and 2 year old...I can't just keep bursting into tears over nothing and basically getting mad over nothing!

Edit because spelling is hard :(
  • I have a killer headache today. Also, I am suddenly super sensitive to all smells. I swear it smells like something died in our garage, but H says he can't smell a thing. And my DD smells like a wet animal to me, which is not cool since she gets a bath every night.
  • Progress (week/day): 9 weeks 4 days today!

Symptoms: nausea, food aversions, mini cravings.

Rants/Raves/Questions: My fatigue has greatly gone down but my nausea seems to have tripled! I used to just feel sick most the time but now I'm throwing up with almost no warning. Ginger candies are a God send.
Also my doctor found an infection she's fairly concerned about which, of course, has me worried.

Mini whine fest: all I want is milk right now, but I have to wait a minimum of 8hrs after taking the antibiotics to consume any calcium. Ug.
