I got pregnant on my first try. We were excited with reservations knowing that miscarriage is common in the first trimester. But I honestly never thought it'd happen to me.
At 6 weeks 5 days I had some light bleeding. Because it was pregnancy #1 I went to the ER. The gestational sac measured at 4 weeks 5 days but they assured me I wasn't miscarrying.
The next day I went to work. The bleeding was heavier but I kept hoping for the best until I started bleeding clots. Went to the ER again where they confirmed the loss.
The hardest part was 3 days later seeing the gestational sac in the pad. I almost vomited.
My husband is 46. The chance of miscarriage doubles with fathers over 40 so I'm having a tough time wrapping my head around trying again. He's ready to start again.
Last week I wrote a letter to my baby and started coloring in a book called 'Color Me Calm'. It has helped a lot but I don't know how to move forward to try again.
Re: My introduction and story
I love that you wrote a letter to your baby. We lost ours about a month ago and I've been kind of talking to it ever since. We also planted a little tree in memory.
It's been a long road- Let's just say that!
