We know our Bumpies love sharing recipes for meals to make and store in the freezer - while baby is still cooking! Once your LO arrives, the last thing you’ll want to deal with is whipping up dinner (or ordering take-out).

You can never have enough great recipes, or enough delicious frozen meals ready to be enjoyed! Check out some of our favorite recipes for make-ahead freezer meals here. Get inspired...and get hungry! What meals will fill your freezer?

Re: Our Favorite Make-Ahead Freezer Meals for Moms-to-Be

  • Already have some chicken enchaladas, split pea soup and coconut curry. I try to make extras of some dishes to freeze throughout the fall so I'll be ready, an not living on pizza once baby comes.
  • Loading the player...
  • Ranch pork chops, twice baked potatoes, meatloaf, meatballs, lots of soups
  • We should have a place to share recipes!!!

    I second this!!
  • How far in advance are you guys making the food?!
  • I'm going to start making mine in a couple weeks! Especially before the holidays come....I know I won't be wanting to meal prep with family around and such.
  • TACO SOUP! Try it!
  • So far I've tried pot roast, vegi soup and Hawaiian chicken, they all have turned out well ... freezer meals are good for 3 months, they may last up to 6 months if your freezer is below 0 degrees.
  • I plan on doing this the day after Thanksgiving. That way, I can use some of those turkey leftovers, and we'll have already borrowed our in-laws' giant stock pan. I've started a pinterest board of freezer meals, and you'd be surprised how easy it is to find stuff.
The ones I really like so far involve mooshing all raw ingredients together in gallon-size ziplocs, with the idea of just dropping it into the slow-cooker when you're ready to cook. This, to me, seems like it will heat better than a casserole.
  • @usernametaken1 does she make house calls to California?! She sounds awesome!!!!
  • I highly recommend the once a month mom website. It's all freezer meals. You could get adventurous and do a full cooking day or just make some recipes. I did a full cook day once and was very happy with everything
  • We freeze some meals. Then I don't feel like cooking so we eat some of them lol
  • We just did a prep day for our chicken crock pot meals and the taco soups. We ended up making 9 meals to freeze, because chicken was on sale.

    We made:
2 chicken, potato, carrot, spices, creamy chicken broth, and regular chicken broth
2 terriyaki chicken to put over rice
2 chicken, salsa, black bean, and corn
1 chicken noodle soup (without the noodles)
2 Taco Soup (without the rice)

Next up is the beef meals and the lasagnas. We'll make those whenever the meat goes on sale! We also just purchased a freezer chest, so all the meals will go in there, and hopefully we'll take meals out as I start filling it with milk.

    Trying to be prepared :)

  • The writer at the Smitten Kitchen did a whole series on freezer friendly meals when she was pregnant earlier this year. All her food is amazing, so I imagine these are too. I'd find you the link but it's been a long day and I'm tired...I'm sure you understand :)
  • I've really loved everything I've made off of https://newleafwellness.biz/ .  I did a big huge freezer session a few weeks back with the Chicken Chili, Balsamic Chicken, Hawaiian Pork and Beef Tortellini and they have been really easy to put together and great to have around when I don't feel like cooking. =)
  • I'm from New Orleans and will have a Winter Baby.. So Gumbo, Different Soups/Stews frozen are awesome! I love pasta, So Cajun Creole Pasta! Spaghetti! Lasagna! Oh and a wonderful Spicy Chili. Perfect freezer foods for winter if you crave like me
  • Not sure if anyone is still following this, but I found so great ones on whoneedsacape.com
Search either 7 meals, 20 meals, 30 meals, or 40 meals. I took some from each and made 8 in about in hour and a half. I also made quite a few breakfast burrios wrapped in tin foil and put in a gallon freezer bag. Check pinterest for that. We did those when camping one year and were a huge hit.
