Well, we are due in April 2016. Our first baby! My husband and I are big Mets fans, and waited till we found out the sex of the baby to announce it. So, this was the picture we shared to make it "facebook official" to our friends and family...
All of our parents are back in the states, so this is our way of revealing the gender/letting them know my due date got moved up. We called each of them personally about a month ago, and we still haven't told the rest of the family or any of our friends.
We finally announced on FB with this! I sing and play guitar (music teacher) and my DH plays the drums Our DS loves everything musical so this was fitting for us.
DH and I met playing ultimate frisbee (and he LOVES disc golf, too), so we decided to go with a frisbee/disc golf themed announcement. (Oh, and I'm from Rochester and he's from coastal Mississippi) I think it was subtle for a lot of people, but our frisbee and disc golf friends thought it was great.
I didn't know whether we were going to announce in FB, but recently some ppl started tagging me in baby-related videos so I figured I'd do something before someone says something by accident... I wanted something simple. This is the uniform of my soccer team in Brazil, Flamengo. The moment my aunt heard we are having a boy, she went out and bought a personalized uniform with the baby's name. My family doesn't waste any time! Lol
There was never the right time.. Decided today in our open window to do our announcement and we forget to put 4/2016. Didn't mean to post 2 pics. App was acting up and I couldn't delete it. Or more prego brain.
Most family and friends knew that we were pregnant but we didn't plan to make a Facebook announcement until we found out the gender, which we unexpectedly found out yesterday! I had my Harmony test done a month ago and never got a call. I had originally checked that I didn't want to know the gender because I didn't like the idea of being told over the phone with out my husband there, so we had planned to wait until the anatomy scan in a few weeks. But when we got to the doctor appointment and told them we never got a call, they had the results faxed over then. And because we were both there together, we decided to go ahead and find out! We threw together this announcement pretty quickly but almost 400 'likes' later, I'd say it got the job done
I originally wanted just a cute photo announcement. But, my fiance is a videographer, and I was vetoed on that decision.
When the video starts out, it doesn't seem like a pregnancy announcement. And that's the way my fiance wanted it. He wanted people to think it was just another one of our adventure videos, but we'd drop subtle baby "hints", and then the surprise is revealed at the end.
It's totally ok if you don't want to watch this. It's basically just me, waddling around with a can of ginger ale, looking lost as hell in Buy Buy Baby.
All the parents were pretty much out of town. Hubby and I had just discovered our bed bug infestation and were researching ways to get rid of them, which the parents knew. I just called them up and (completely deadpan) said "We decided to do the heat treatment since I'm pregnant."
