Well at least all of the cravings are normal.I want to eat dirt...lots and lots of freshly rained on dirt..when I see a big pile my mouth waters. I have yet to eat any because I'm scared someone or something peed on it or spit or shit or any other gross thing you can think of. It's literally making me crazy.

I think mine is chick-fil-a cookies and cream milkshake. I didn't really think it was a craving but can't stop thinking about them and drove 20 minutes just to get one yesterday...I really want one right now too haha
True that .... I've tried to eat the whole grain but I can't do it without me 3 butters and a cream cheese. AND if they short me a butter ... I put them in their place lol
I've been worried about my cravings... at first I thought I wasn't craving anything in particular but now I know what it is since it is all I want pretty much every night. It's just gotten worse as the days move along and it's burgers, fries, and a coke. My husband thinks I'm out of control and I'm worried that this is going to be me for the rest of my life. I am usually good with moderation but haven't been lately. I had the fast food craving with my first but around the last month, with this one it started much earlier.

Hi, just so you know, they're right about this. It's called Pica and it's not uncommon (my mom wanted to eat topsoil with me, I had a strong craving for mown grass at the beginning) but talk to your doctor just to be sure you're not missing something vital in your diet. To get that dirt craving satisfied, try those little organic carrots with the plant matter still attached to the top. Lots of fresh garden veggies. The aroma of the soil is still on them, even after washing and cleaning them. They're heavenly.
@acanfield18 's post got me thinking. Anybody craving SCENTS specifically? I haven't had many food cravings - most of them for citrus and vinegar and other sour foods and fruits - but I have very strong smell cravings and sadly, some of them toxic. I love the smell of cigarette smoke and gasoline. I avoid both but if i happen to stroll into the path of them, i don't get humpty about it.. I also love natural smells. Grass, fall leaves, soil, tomato vines (OMG tomato vines, you guys...) and Chanel No 5, which I previously didn't care for, I can't get enough of. The chick at Macy's is onto me though. She knows what time it is when i show up claiming to be "considering purchasing.." etc. I've had to rotate around other Macy's in the area to keep my fix coming. Once i give birth, i assume i'll go back to not really liking it much so I don't want to hammer down $100 for a bottle of perfume I might enjoy for another month or two.
Thanks ladies... I did talk to my midwife and she said all of my levels are normal...I'm just craving dirt. She said it's not that uncommon to have pregnancy induced pica and it will go away...I remember wanting dirt with my other two but not this strong... But I'm too scared of what could be in it to actually eat any...it sucks. 38 days and hopefully it will go away!
@acanfield18 Pica (craving non food items like dirt, ice or starch) often seems to have a correlation to iron deficiency anemia but the science says it isn't actually causation. For some reason Pica seems to run in families, good luck!
Milk! Milk! Milk! And more milk!!!! I have to have it with everything. Also plain bagels and cream cheese. And another thing I have to have at every meal, broccoli with some ranch!
Re: Favorite food while pregnant/Most recurring craving
@acanfield18 you should mention this to your midwife/OB. You may be lacking in certain vitamins or minerals. https://americanpregnancy.org/pregnancy-health/unusual-cravings-pica/

I second this. Please bring it up in your next appointment.
Panera's cinnamon crunch bagels are the best!
