I don't let my kid drink juice, not even watered down unless it is a special occasion. I never let her have period until she was around 18 months or so and the only reason shed tried it then was because a family member gave her some without my permission. She drinks water and gets milk at breakfast and dinner. I won't let my next baby have juice either. I don't judge or care when other parents give their kids juice but it's just not for my kids.
This is me too. DD just turned 2 and she just tried juice for the first time a month ago or so, it was apple cider at the pumpkin patch! For us it's for special occasions only,for example we brought DD out to lunch with us for the first time a week ago (I realize she's 2 but were not big on going out to eat if we do we get a sitter, this was for a family gathering) and we got her some apple juice just to keep her busy and happy so we could eat in peace. She loves her water and smoothies (milk, greek yogurt, spinach, banana) and I'm not about to get her hooked on juice. No judgement on others but it's just not for us.
I have a UO! I hate when women say, "I don't have a penis so I don't get a say in whether my son is circumcised or not." Umm it's a medical procedure, and it's your child. You get just as much of a say as the child's father. It doesn't work this way for anything else, why for this issue? You don't hear dads saying, "Well, I don't love the idea of my teenage daughter having sex, but I don't have a vagina, so it's her mom's decision, not mine." Parenting is up to both of you (assuming you're a two parent household, obviously), not the person with matching parts.
*Clearly, as with any issue, if one parent doesn't care at all and one is passionate, that's fine. What works for you and your partner is cool. I just think the argument in terms of circ-ing is kind of a cop out. You don't want to take the time to research and make a decision, so you put it off on your partner because he's a guy. I think both parents should take responsibility to be research and be informed, especially about something THAT important.
I am not having a boy but I 1000% agree with this! We had the circumcision talk each time we were expecting before finding out and agreed it's up to both of us.
A bunch of my mom friends always say this! The one hasn't made a decision yet even though she's done tons of research on it because "it's not up to her"

My DD is over 2 and has juice twice... both times about a half a cup of watered down apple cider (unpasteurized, gasp!) because we were hoping it would make her poop.
She's also only had ice cream once, has never had cake, has had maybe 3 (homemade) cookies in her life, never had candy, etc. It annoys me, because people always say, "you're no fun", or "you need to let loose". Uh, no? She doesn't even know what those things are. It's not like she's asking and we're telling her no.. So why give them to her when she doesn't know the difference? Someday she'll want them and ask, but until then, why feed her junk she doesn't even "want"?
I hate how fantasy leagues and "Fan Duel" have taken over the Football world! Every other commercial I see is about joining and winning money. What happened to just betting on who would win a game (between two teams) with your friends? Or just watching the game for pure fun???

That's how we feel! Although I haven't been quite as strict. I've definitely caved more often than you. Props . But as a general rule, we just don't have that stuff in our home. Thankfully my side of the family is very respectful of that. My mom calls herself a vegan nutratarian. Pretty much, if it didn't come out of the ground, she doesn't eat it. But my husbands family thinks I'm super snobby in that area. I don't lecture them or anything like that. I just don't let her have certain things and leave it at that. When my daughter was really little I was super nervous to put my foot down but now I'm not so concerned. She is my child and this is what my husband and I feel is best nobody has to like it but they do have to follow my rules concerning my kid.
I've always hated the shows Seinfeld and Friends. I think they are both overrated, and I think people make too much of a big deal over Jennifer Aniston. Extreamly overrated actress with average looks at best.
Disagree! I think Seinfeld is incredibly clever and revolutionized the way writers approached storytelling in sitcoms from that point forward. I love that it bucked the conventional model and was a success in doing so. Like it or not, there are probably at least a few sitcoms on television now that you enjoy that are influenced by Seinfeld.
I love Friends too, but I'll give you that it follows more stereotypical tropes and perhaps got a bit more hype than it deserved.
I don't think Jennifer Aniston's looks should be a factor in how successful or popular she is, period. And since Friends, she's moved on to do some independent work like "The Good Girl" and "Cake" in which she really showed some range and depth. I think she's a very talented actor.

Nurses should be getting paid more. They do 90% of the work and they are usually extremely invested in their patients.
(Military people will get this more than civilians, sorry) my husband once lost a patient because his doctor wasn't listening to what my husband was saying, and the patient bled out. My husband was so pissed about it (he's an e-3) that he screamed at a captain and told him he was one of the worst doctors he has ever met. The patient died in agony because he captain believed his degree was more important than my husband pointing out that he is bleeding like crazy from his wound vac. My husband was in tears the next 4 days, he's not even the one who told me this story. Another nurse did.
Plus when you go in for any appointment you are always triaged and seen by nurses first. They don't need to look at a chart to recognize you and your kids or husband. They stay extra hours sometimes and it's so annoying to see doctors who do nothing and don't care get more money than them.

I couldn't disagree more. While I acknowledge how much nurses do, I disagree that they are somehow more qualified than doctors to make judgement calls or earn as much just because of effort. My brother is a doctor. He had tons to juggle while specializing. Exams, patients, endless 48 hour shifts, money. It's not as easy as you make it out to be. Being a doctor is tons of investment and effort. You look to your doctor for a CURE and a fix. Not the nurse. If he doesn't perform, it's all on him/her.

Some people are more diligent and dedicated than others, regardless of their education, occupation, or field of work. Like @Achae said, one reason doctors get paid more is that they are also more accountable, and more subject to malpractice suits and license suspensions, so they have higher insurance premiums and more at stake. My understanding of the nursing occupation is that pay varies dependent on your education (4 yr. vs. 2 yr.), accreditation, licensing, and experience (although I am not a nurse and do not work in this field, so correct me if I'm wrong). I would imagine that licensed nurse practitioners and registered nurses are going to draw a higher salary because they have more education and are board certified. It probably makes a difference if you work in the private sector or public sector as well. I'm not sure what your husband's educational background is, but I can understand why he might feel frustrated sometimes when he and doctors aren't on the same page, and being on pay scales that are quite different can cause a lot of tension. Sounds like he's had some bad experiences. But I think on average, doctors have a lot weighing on their shoulders too, and are often just as overworked, understaffed.

This. Nurses should make more. Paramedics should make more. Teachers should make more. Hourly workers should make more. Everyone should be making a living wage. I don't think we pay doctors too much, but I do think we pay professional athlete and actors too much.

Bottom line is that yes, medical doctors make a "lot," but they don't start earning their salaries until WAY later in life than most other professionals and they have crushing medical school debt as well as sky-high liability insurance costs. So in some cases, the "excessive"pay is an illusion.
Having said that, yes, I think there are many professions (including my own, which requires a masters degree but is compensated quite poorly) that should be paid and valued more. But that doesn't mean physicians make too much, IMO.

Well, I know for my husband and I we decided to give up our lives and our time, we don't work for the money. We are the stereotypical "do it for the people" type. I feel like ta different for civilians. We literally sign a contract saying that we agree to be overworked and underpayed basically.
Most of the civilian nurses here dedicate so many more hours than anyone I've ever seen and they go unpaid. A lot of them are in school right now too, to become a physician and keep building in their careers. That's just my UO. K don't like someone undeserving (patient care wise, not school wise) getting a really good amount of money while someone so deserving gets scraps.

Thanks for summing it up! (I'm still going to look when I can do I can read the details, of course) . Isn't that the way almost all degrees are now though? Lawyers have a ton of debt too, I mean even my tuition is pretty bad after my assistance programs and I'm going to a cheaper online school. (I'm going for security & programming) while I know it isn't the same amount, it's still a lot no matter what career choice. Most of these doctors didn't pay for college because of the GI bill or officer programs though.

Too many of these men either don't have a post secondary education or have been handed a degree with their scholarship and have no other job experience. So when they hit their career length average (4-6 years depending on the sport) they have nothing else to fall back on. Basically, they have to make enough money to last a lifetime early on and hope that they're surrounded by "good" enough people to help invest/spend it properly so that when they (more often than not) suffer some sort of career ending injury they have something to sustain them. It's honestly a very fragile career path.

I guess I'm just curious
