Well so far my recovery has been good but I got sick with chills then fevers headaches my bleeding was less then after the third day of getting better from being sick I started bleeding agian a good amount I feel the blood gush(sorry if it's tmi) and having blood clots are like as big as golf balls at times and a good amount of bleeding and feeling cramping like period cramping I made an appointment for Friday I'm a bit worried I'm 5 weeks postpartum recovery. I want to ask if anyone one else has had this happen and what did it end up being ?

Re: Postpartum recovery

  • Is there an advice nurse you can talk to before your appointment tomorrow?

Minus the sick part, this happened with my first and sadly it was my first post partum period. I literally got like 1 week with no bleeding :(

  • This happened to me!!!!! I went into the emergency room last Thursday. My fever was 39.5 Wednesday night and we monitored it at home and was still 38.2 Thursday morning. It turns out I had a little bit of placenta left in me and an infection starting. The ordered an ultrasound, X-ray, blood work and urine. I didn't have to have any of the physical tests (hand in me searching for placenta or surgery) they saw enough on the ultrasound to diagnose the issue. They gave me a prescription that shed the remaining placenta. The prescription caused heavy bleeding for a day...now Im feeling so much better and my flow has almost stopped!

One word of advice - GO TO THE HOSPITAL!!!! If you wait you could hemmoroge (Im not a doc but it's what I was told, or the infection could get a lot worse and you wouldnt want to be hospitalized with a new baby) and as I hear this usually results in you waking up in a pool of blood. Treat it now while it's a minor issue. I did the same. Debated going to the hospital but I'm so glad I went!!!

Your issues could be completely different then mine but seriously better to be safe then sorry!
