Due to mega sore boobs i am going bra shopping at wkd!! For those who have experienced similar am i looking for maternity bras this early on or just soft cup ones?
I bought nursing bras at Motherhood when I was about 8 weeks because I was so swollen. I'm now at 21 weeks and I've outgrown them. So my recommendation is to go ahead and buy one or two, but don't go crazy because you'll probably need to upsize before too long.
Also following this post. I started at 40G and am almost 14 weeks. That moment after work when I get home and the bra comes off is torture. I'm used to them feeling heavy, but this soreness is almost unbearable. I'd really love a good, supportive bra without it being underwire.
Yes, I need to follow this post as well. I started at a 34DD and don't know what the hell I am now but my boobs are definitely bigger and the underwire in my current bras is being weighed down into my bump and it hurts. OUCH!
Gotta second @DrillSergeantCat here. Since you're still pretty early in your pregnancy I wouldn't go overboard with buying too many bras quite yet since you'll probably outgrow them (sorry!). I would get a few nursing bras in your current size to tide you over and then reassess your needs in a few months. They're going to change throughout your pregnancy and then postpartum as well.
I hear good things about Bravado brand but I never tried them myself so I can't speak from experience. I was never fond of any of the maternity bras I tried.
I have a weird size of 30 DDD so I already busted out of my regular bra. Rather than buy a maternity bra I got a soft cupped bra with no wire, kinda like a sports bra but with more stretch, cause I know I will grow even more. I'll attach a pic of the style I got. Soooooo much better.
Resurrecting this thread b/c I got the Bali Comfort Revolution Smart Sizes Foam Cup and it is life changing. I was a 34D pre-pregnancy (not sure what I am now; not that much bigger, mostly just fuller/heavier) and the medium fits great. Stretchy and comfy without the smashy uniboob situation of a sports bra.
I was a full 34C before getting pregnant. I got a 34D right away and.....can't fit into it anymore. I wear these soft sports bra style bras from Gap. They are comfy but your boobs still look good in clothes.
I was so sore at the beginning but I didn't want to buy too many because I have a small bust and didn't know how much I would grow. Actually before pregnancy I started using soft cup wirefree bras called Simply Perfect by Warner's and I get them at Target or Amazon and they are awesome for me. Recently I started wearing Hanes bras that are like sports bras because they are soft, wirefree, seamless are just comfortable to me. I'm waiting to buy nursing bras until the end because I don't want to spend too much money on bras if I will go through them.
First of all they are soooo incredibly comfortable. I'd say if you're a DD or smaller, these bras will feel amazing. The pads that come in them are removable, which is great because they're a little awkward. They are definitely comfortable to sleep in, and I think if you purchased your correct size they would work for daytime wear also. The fabric is incredible.
The only downside is if you've got a larger chest. I'm a 40G (boobs haven't grown yet) and I purchased the XL which is definitely too small to wear in any other situation than sleeping/lounging at home. A XXL would've been a great fit (if they had it in that size). I definitely recommend these bras if you're DD or smaller, and for $30 a pack of 3 is a great deal.
@fourtsixand2 - i'm in the same boat except I was a 34F before, I'm now a 36H and it's hard to find those in store unless you want to spend $80. I'm going to check your suggestion.

If you really just care for something to sleep in/lounge in, it's worth it in my opinion. You seem to be smaller around than I am, but in the same cup size range, so you might have more success if you chose to wear them outside the home. Worse case, Amazon's return policy is great. I'm keeping mine, even if they're a little on the small size.
I wore a 38D pre-pregnancy and bought the XL. They fit, but there's also room to grow.
I'm still looking for something to wear to work under my clothing - I'm a big fan of the Body by Victoria lined underwire and it's all I've worn for years, but I refuse to spend $40-50+ on a bra I'll likely outgrow. I do not want wire free for the workday - I don't like the way my boobs feel when they're unsupported. :-(

This is sound advice. Don't spend too much on your bras while pregnant. Your size and needs can change drastically.
