I gained 60lbs with my first two and 40lbs with the third. I would like to stay at 40 or below this time, but I don't want to stress too much over it. I do plan on walking a lot and some weight lifting. I want to get back into clean eating, but probably won't until after first tri lol.
How much did you gain with your previous pregnancies? 29lbs
Are you trying to gain less this time? Based on BMI, my OB will likely tell me to stay around 20-25.
Workout plans? Healthy eating? I'm sticking with my current workout routine and trying not to give into my current massive carb cravings. Also making sure to drink 100+ oz of water each day.
June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
I gained 60 lbs with my first.... But I started out at 95 lbs (I've always been super tiny). I got back down to 115 and then actually lost 7 lbs in my first trimester the second time around (I was extremely sick). When my second was born I was around 150, so technically from my starting weight I only gained 35 lbs. This time I'm starting out at 125. I'll be happy to stay around the 150-155 range that I've hit the other two pregnancies.
ETA: I'm a very active person. Lifelong dancer and performer. I plan on continuing to dance as long as I can and continue my active lifestyle otherwise. Unfortunately I get GD so my diet is dictated by that. It's NOT easy to stay full with zero carbs but it certainly aids in the weight department.

I'm not sure exactly. I think I gained around 30-35 both times. I'm pretty small to start with, so that's pretty good amount for me I think. My midwife has never mentioned weight. I've never really had a goal, I just try to take care of myself. I always let myself eat when I'm hungry and pregnant, I just make sure it's something healthy. So far the weight has always come off as long as I eat well and stay at my normal activity level. With two kids to chase around it helps me stay active even when is rather be lazy, haha
I gained 35 lbs last time. I was trying to lose weight before I got pregnant, so I would love to stay around a 20 lb weight gain this time (the OB nurse recommended 20-30). I'm doing 3 resistance workouts a week, 2 cardio workouts, and a walk every day (at least that's what I'm trying to do; this is what I was doing pre-pregnancy). I'm trying to eat as healthy as possible, but my appetite is making it hard--I want to eat everything! Trying to at least make most of my eating choices healthy ones.
Nov 17 BMB May Siggy Challenge: Mother's Day Fails
Hi ladies, new to this board but jumping right in!
Last pregnancy I gained about 18lbs... but I was pretty overweight to begin with (about 160)
This pregnancy I'm starting at a healthier weight (145) but I hope to keep gain to 20-25 lbs
I don't have the energy to even think about working out right now. Between baby #2, breastfeeding, and running after DS, I'm burning enough calories. To be fair though, I'm a pretty active person so in general I try to get activity every day, its just generally not stuctured exercise. Once the exhaustion fades, I'll do my prenatal yoga videos.
Last time I gained about 20lbs or so. I would be fine with similar weight gain, though I hope to be more active this time around. I am in 2 weddings later in the year (August and October) and I won't have a lot of time to get back in shape. Going to order my dresses in a huge size and cross my fingers for the best!
I gained about 18-19 pounds, but weigh around 10 pounds less than last time, so I'd be ok gaining the extra 10 back if it is necessary. However, since MS is in charge right now, I doubt I will be able to gain more than 20.
I gained 21 pounds with my first. I hope to do the same with this one. I didn't eat a ton, but had a bowl of cereal every night. I'm hoping to keep it under control this time, too. Since my ds was born, I'm not nearly as active as I used to be! But I'm really going to make an effort to at least be more active! I'm not going to lie, it helps getting weighed every month.
I gained over 50lbs with my first. I was up 12 pounds by the end of the first trimester.
I am almost 8 weeks and am down 2 lbs this time around. My goal is to gain < 30 of course if it is healthy. I won't stress over it as long as I am being healthy. My DH gained 10-15 my first pregnancy too. We ate a lot of ice cream. I craved sweets like no tomorrow. And my first pregnancy I felt starving. All. The. Time.
This time around I am getting full really fast but need to snack more frequently.
My weight fluctuates a lot. Easy to gain. Hard to lose. It took a year to lose all the weight the first time around. I will be in a wedding 6 weeks pp... So I really hope to not do as much damage to my body and make healthier choices.
I gained 30 one the dot first time, and closer to 35? the second. I was more active prior to #1, and continued to walk a few days a week. Second time I was a sloth... I hurt so bad I hardly moved. This time I'd like to stay at a 25 pound gain, by all means possible. I'm starting heavier (135) than #1(125 ) but a smidge less than #2 (138).
I gained 40 lbs with my first, got down 39 lbs, and then gained 55 with the twins. I was still 10-15 over before getting pregnant. So far, I'm down 6. I was a distance runner, but have pulled back already this time.

BFP #3 5/4/13, EDD 1/9/14 Twin Boys! L&L born 12/18/13
So far im winning.... I gained over 70 lbs with my first. I am going to try to keep the weight gain under control this time. My goal is to exercise 2-3 hours a week. Last week I met my goal. This week I'm not doing so well... The morning sickness started yesterday and it's more like all day sickness. I'm also planning to keep fast food to a minimum.
I gained 55 lbs with DD but my OBs never said anything about gaining too much. It did take me a year to get back to pre-preg weight, but I was not exercising for fear it would mess with my supply. I also think I'm one of those women that holds on to weight instead of shedding it while nursing. This time, my midwife suggests gaining 25-35 lbs, and I've already gained 3. I'm certainly not going to count calories, but I try to make nutritious decisions (when my nausea allows). I was also diagnosed with hypoglycemia between pregnancies, so I can't eat sugar/simple carbs anymore, which will hopefully slow the weight gain since I stuffed myself with sweets and carbs last time. I do need to be more active this pregnancy, as I pulled a stomach muscle last time, which sent me to labor and delivery with contractions at 31 weeks.
I gained just over 35# with DS but lost close to 70# in about 8 months after giving birth. I'm hoping I stick under 30# this time so I don't hit my pervious pre pregnancy weight!
Last time I didn't do too much. This time around I'm doing my best to work out every day for at least 20 minutes. I do a stroller class once a week, cardio video twice a week and then run on the elliptical or spend the morning pushing a stroller around the zoo.
I gained about 35 pounds. I am 5 feet 8in and just clocked in at 138lbs today. I will probable gain about the same this time around too. I eat really healthy and exercise, but I do love me some cookies and sweets.
I gained 14lbs during both pregnancies. I was overweight to start with though. I recently lost 16lbs and have really been working in my body. I'm hoping to keep my weight gain under control again this time. I am doing the 21 day fix exercises and plan on continuing. As I get farther along I will modify as needed. I really like how I feel when I'm exercising daily so I don't want to quit that unless I have to.
Gained 60+ pounds with first pregnancy, took me about 7 or 8 months to lose it with lots of hard work. Starting 20 pounds below last pre pregnancy weight and I would love to stay below 40 pounds gained. I was eating pretty clean before, but now all I can think about eating are carbs. Fingers crossed for 2nd trimester being easier to make better choices!
Wow looks like most of you gained the recommended 30-35lbs or less. I'm not sure why I gain so much, but my doctors never seem concerned and I lose it all quickly. Although it was way easier to lose it after the first pregnancy vs the other two so idk how this time will go, lol.
I gained 40lbs. I found it hard to lose it all and ended 5lbs over my first pre pregnancy weight. My hope this time is to gain 25-30 and am going to work out more this time and for as long in to the pregnancy as I can and will try to stick to healthy food choices. I am worried because I am a SAHM so hope I can be diligent at home.
I gained 33# with my first. Doc recommended under 25. This time I am starting 10# heavier and they are really stressing 15-25. But my nausea has been preventing me from eating so I may gain nothing by end of first tri.
I gained like 60 lbs with my first - I was huge! With my second, the combination of more morning sickness and chasing a toddler kept my weight gain down to 35 lbs or so.
I definitely hope to stay around 35 lbs again this time. I felt SO MUCH better about myself immediately after birth, whereas with my first I had gained EVERYWHERE, so I still felt huge and gross! When people say to you, "oh, you're pregnant - you're allowed to eat 3 cupcakes for lunch!" DON'T LISTEN! lol I over-indulged with my first and quickly learned that all those calories/weight do not just go right to the baby!
Im my whole pregnancy I gained like 25 pounds. But after it I did not gain anything at all. After a week of my delivery i was back to my normal weight. I got a little diabietes during my pregnancy and the dr put me on a strict diet. I just ate the right stuff for me . ofcourse my stomach doesnt look exacltly like it used to be, but some exercise can fix that. However, now that baby number 2 is coming that its out of the picture for now lol
I gained right around 25 my first pregnancy. I would like to have about the same weight gain this go around. I'm excersising less though so we will see. I think weight gain is highly individualized. So women gain a bunch and lose it the first week after baby is born. Others struggle for months to lose it. Eat healthy and don't increase your intake a ton. Follow your doctors recommendations and everything will fall into place.
With my first I gained 30, second I gained 40. I'm pretty active but I love food. Haha really hoping to keep it between 30-40 this time. I plan on keeping up with my cardio and weight lifting. Thankfully I lost it both times within the first year.
With DD, I started just under 120, gained about 35, and lost 30 of it. I was super careful with what I ate until the third trimester, then I pretty much ate whatever I wanted ha. I was also super busy with student teaching and work, so all that movement kept me fairly healthy.
This time around I'm definitely hungrier, so it's been more difficult to control myself. I'm a SAHM now so I've had a hard time being as active as I used to be. I've also been struggling with some depression. between that and first trimester fatigue, some days (like today) it's really hard to even get out of bed. Good thing I have DD or else I would probably not move ever ha. My goal is to stay around 35 again, but I'm pretty sure I'll end up gaining more.
I gained about 35 with DS and I lost it and more within a month PP. Breastfeeding really caused me to lose weight fast.
This time I don't necessarily want to gain less but I want a more active pregnancy and I'm trying to eat less carbs. DS was 10.5 lbs and I'm hoping eating less carbs will keep this baby smaller.
I gained close to 80 when I was pregnant. It was horrible. I know that the fact that we lived in a hotel for close to 4 months and spent that time eating out every meal (we moved states for hubby's job and we're waiting on our house to close). It took me over two years to lose the weight and I actually started seeing a nutritionist to help me. I still see her and we have a plan for this pregnancy and think that not eating out every day for 4 months will really help. This pregnancy I plan to gain about 25-30 lbs.
I gained 18lb with DS and most of it was gone when I was weighed on my way out of the hospital. I have a bad feeling I won't be so good this time around. I was so ridiculously healthy with him.. But I've been so sick this time that Im just trying to eat whatever I can stomach. I usually LOOOVEEE salad but right now healthy food makes my stomach flip.
I gained 20 lbs with my last pregnancy. I was overweight so that was an appropriate amount. Second tri I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes so i ate very clean which helped me keep it to 20. This time my aim is to eat healthy from the beginning (successful so far).
I actually lost weight with my first, about 5 pounds. I was 60 pounds overweight at the start. Between making healthier choices in general, and eating smaller portions more often to stave off puking, I just ended up staying the same weight.
I gained 75 pounds with my first. I lost it all and got back to 125 lbs. i was crazy swollen. I couldn't work out and was high risk. I'm hoping i dont gain as much this time but if o do, i don't care

About 30 with my first and about 25 with my second. However, I had it finished loosing from my first with my second so probably a little more. I plan on sticking to hopefully around 20-25. I will ask at my appointment what I should keep as a goal. I worked out all summer and got into pretty good shape so I want to keep that and just add a bump!

I gained way too much with both my kids: 50+ each time - and I was starting over weight. I still haven't lost the weight from my last pregnancy, so I am focused on keeping weight gain healthy this time. I have no idea how much I'll gain, but I am focused on doing my part in ensuring that I'm healthy and not overeating like an insane person.
I gained 35 with my first, lost it all plus 10, then gained 32 with my second and lost that. Starting this pg, I was about 2 lbs heavier than after losing weight with my second, but my BMI is normal. Hoping to gain around 25 this time, but won't stress. I don't lose very quickly when BFing, but most of it comes off, and then I have to bust my butt for the last 5-10lbs.
With my first two pregnancies, I gained about 30 pounds each. With my last pregnancy I only gained 4 since I was sick a lot and lost weight for most of the pregnancy. With all three babies, I was actually much lighter at my 6 week pp check up than I was before getting pregnant. I have no idea what to expect this time around. It will depend on how sick I am. So far, I haven't had any morning sickness but I know it's still early for me (5w4d) and morning sickness didn't start last time until 8 weeks.

I gained 40 lbs with my first and never got back down to where I started, despite breastfeeding (I gained 10 lbs while I was breastfeeding), eating a healthy diet and working out with a personal trainer. I started this pregnancy exactly where I was about a week after I came home from the hospital. So I am hoping that I can gain less this time around... not having excess fluid (polyhydramnios) this time might help too. Maybe?

I gained 37 with my son, 23 with my daughter and so far nothing...I think I've lost. I'm going to try being conscious of what I eat. My first pregnancies I lived off Pepsi, Twix and strawberries. Lol
I'm 5'4" and gained 38 with my first- 16 in the first trimester! I ate lots of sodas and carbs and didn't exercise at all in the first tri. I exercised regularly in 2nd/3rd tri. I gained major inches in my thighs and butt- I went from size 6 maternity pants to size 12 maternity pants. I was able to lose the weight 4 months pp, but that involved major dieting and working out hard 5 days a week while breastfeeding a newborn. I just don't think I'll have the energy or opportunity for that again.
Goal this time is less than 30, and I want to maintain tone in my legs. I've gained two lbs (7 wks) and I'm exercising regularly. I do modified Insanity Max 30, and I just started doing Autumn Calabrese's Fit Maternity series. It's really hard to rein in my appetite- greasy food is all I think about- but I'm trying to take it one day at a time.
