Well, I've got it again...I had this when I was pregnant with my son nine years ago, but do NOT remember it hitting so early! I'm only five weeks. Anywho - I know it's not uncommon or dangerous, but wondering if anyone has found anything that helps. Online, I see recommendations for "pelvic floor strengthening exercises and the like, but without any specifics...
Re: Symphisis pubis/pelvic pain anyone?
I had this last time. I saw a chiro and it helped a bit - but my friend saw a physiotherapist who specialized in pelvic floor therapy. Dunno if you have anyone like that in your area?
As for the belt - wowsers! Really dumb question, but I guess this goes under your pants/skirt? So better with stretchy maternity stuff, I suppose, right?
Depending on the belt it can be worn under or over clothing. With my SI-Loc I used it over my clothes. I'm getting a different one at the recommendation of a new midwife & friends, Baby Belly Band. This one will be worn under my clothes.
It can be dangerous. There are instances where the ligaments have torn necessitating surgery or leaving you wheelchair bound. It's very rare but it happens. Giving birth on all 4s or standing helps prevent that.
My OB said it will likely happen earlier and be worse this time.

On the bright side, the pain is much improved today. I guess I overdid it Monday with an 8-mile walk...my friend & I usually take a weekly exercise walk, I may have to make them a bit shorter for the moment!!
