How do you guys feel about little dabs of salicylic acid treatment? I've heard differing opinions about this...
I'm not a physician but my understanding is that salicylic acid is a Category C drug and should not be used during pregnancy. It's the main ingredient in aspirin which is a big no no for pregnant women. You may want to call your OB and double check but if I were you, I would stop using it immediately.
I've been having the same problem. I switched to an unscented sensitive skin laundry detergent, aveeno unscented sensitive skin body wash and lotion. It's made a big difference.
My pimples were horrendous up until recently when they finally started clearing up a little bit. I wash daily, sometimes twice, and nothing was working at the early stages of pregnancy. My main issue now is itchy skin! I'm soooo itchy! Cocoa butter is my BFF right now.
Omg face is breaking out like a teenager ! After years of being on the pill and having flawless skin ... This is a shock ! I feel like I'm back in junior high with pimples everywhere
Not really have skin problems more so I am having scalp problems, and the itching and burning is enough to make me cry. I just turned 11 weeks and my 1st prenatal appointment isn't til October 28 (
Im at 8 weeks now and my skin has been going insane. Non stop breakouts and super dry skin at the same time... But I have found relief! For the breakouts: mario badescu drying lotion. Its a spot treatment, you put it on at night, it dries pink which isnt the most attractive thing...but the acne is gone (or very much improved) by morning. For dry skin, the hempz lotion line. It sounds weird and cheesy, but is without a doubt the best lotion ive ever used, and not greasy at all. Hope this helps!
I've struggled with skin issues since I was a teenager, I found Paula's Choice about six months ago or so and finally I found my cure! Honestly my skin was perfect up until recently, and my acne is so painful! I've been breaking out worse than I ever have, and I'm still using my Paula's choice, it just isn't really having the same effect that it did before. I'm a huge fan of face masks, does anyone have an suggestions to a particular brand or face mask that's helped them with breakouts?
I started using Belli products after reading about them on here. After a week I have noticed a good amount of difference. Not completely cleared up but compared to before much better.
HOLY BLACKHEADS! Do any of you ladies know if it's safe to use Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay? I was thinking of popping over to the Vitamin Shoppe after work tomorrow to pick some up but not if it's going to harm our little bean!
I've skimmed past this post tons of times as it hasn't been relevant to me. However, here I am in week 9 with the worst skin of my life. After reading through all of your posts, it seems most people have dry, itchy skin. I seem to be having the opposite problem. My face has been incredibly greasy and it's so embarrassing. I wash my face and less than an hour later it's disgusting again. Not to mention the adolescent like pimples that have appeared out of nowhere all over the place. Any tips for greasy/oily skin?
This is my third pregnancy so I have some trick I know really work! I have eczema and it gets so much worse during pregnancy plus my face will break out a ton! I use Frank Coffee Scrub every other day in the shower over my entire body, or in certain spots if they're really bad, and it leaves my skin so soft and my eczema fades. I apply virgin coconut oil to my whole body and light argan oil on my face, a little goes a long way for your face. The coconut oil is so good for your skin though and helps with stretch marks. Good luck! Hope this helps!
I have been using BioOil for stretch marks on my body since I was in college. I had such intense growth spurts on my hips then that the stretch marks were so prominent. The Bio oil has been amazing for those so now that I'm pregnant I lather it on my belly and chest. The formula leaves skin super soft too. Worth a try! They sell it at the pharmacy but I got a great price at TJ Maxx
15 weeks and my hands, feet and sometimes belly are on the source of me not sleeping. I go to bed then wake up multiple times scratching. I tried multiple lotions. All I want to do is scratch, but I can't get no relief. HELP! !
My eczema is so much worse too... I have a whole patch of skin under my eye which is incredibly dry and irritated looking! Plus I've had more zits than I've had maybe ever. Ughhh... I don't usually wear foundation but now I have to..
