Natural family planning and the bonus of being too dam tired to get frisky!! Been doing NFP for about 9 years both kids were planned and prayed for and very hard to conceive- and are four years apart. So i think we are good
Nothing but condoms right now, but he has his consult for the vasectomy next week. I tried the pill for a few days but was nervous it was affecting my supply so I stopped.
Mini Pill (Progestrone only). It doesn't affect supply which is nice, but Periods have already returned and are said to be completely unpredictable. The main problem with this pill is that if I miss one day, it takes 48hr after my next dose to be safe.

I am doing mini pill also. Only day 4.. We will see. I just don't want Irish twins.. Probably start trying again in the summer.. I think 18months or two years is better for me then a year!
I'm using the mini pill, been on it for a full cycle already. I haven't noticed not even the slightest change in my breast milk supply. Nor have I experienced any other side effects.

@KateDerek when you stopped birth control did your supply come back? I've been taking birth control for 1 week and noticed a drastic decrease in my supply, so I was thinking about stopping. I just hope my supply goes back to normal.
Has anybody had the Paraguard iud? I'm planning to get it in 2 weeks when I will be 2 month pp (the doctor won't do it before then) and I was just wondering if anybody has had their period right away...or if when you did get your period back if it was heavy and crampy? I've read that some people get really bad periods so I was hoping to get some real stories before I make my final decision. Also, if anybody has info or personal experience with Mirena...
I had the Skyla IUD inserted two weeks ago at my 6 week checkup. My milk supply has stayed abundant. I'm weary to recommend it to anyone else because I haven't stopped bleeding since my doctor put it in for me and haven't been able to use tampons because they are uncomfortable for whatever reason. The Skyla is made by the company that makes the mirena, but is a 3 year version. I wasn't bleeding at all before I had it put in. I'd imagine sex would be uncomfortable because of how I've felt trying to use a tampon, but we haven't tried because of the bleeding. If it doesn't stop by my 4 week check where she makes sure it is still in place, I'm going to ask her to remove it for me. I didn't want to deal with a period yet and definitely not bleeding that would last this long. I have other friends that swear by their IUDs so I imagine everyone is different. Maybe waiting longer before you have it put in is a better choice. The packaging warns of a higher risk of the device puncturing your uterus if breastfeeding, which is something I wish I had read beforehand rather than after, but I should have asked more questions before I elected to have it put in. That risk is scary for me because I would like to have more children and avoid complications. Overall I'd say it's nice because I don't feel like my hormones have been out of whack like I have on other forms of birth control, but the cramping, bleeding, and other risks involved make condoms seem a lot more appealing.
I take the mini pill as well. I would recommend it over any other form of hormonal birth control from my personal experience, but it is very high maintenance. It must be taken every single day at the same time of the day, and is only effective for 24 hours at a time, so it is extremely important to stay on schedule. The mini pill does NOT stop ovulation in every cycle like the combo pill, but thickens your CM to make it difficult for sperm to survive. I have been on it for 2 cycles and can feel my left ovary in action as I type. Aside from being high maintenance, I have no complaints at all. Doesn't affect my mood, cause undesirable side effects (so far), is safe for BFing, and is doing it's job. My personal recommendation for BC

I had mirena for 8 months and bled the entire time. After removal, I found out it also gave me cancer.. We aren't using anything but condoms this time. Luckily, DH doesn't mind using them.. I mind but I dang sure ain't taking a chance! I'm a freak of nature when it comes to my body and fertility lol.
We use NFP...we successfully used it to not get pregnant for a year and then had luck getting pregnant using it when we wanted to. Luckily no period for me yet either!
I got the birth control implant a month ago. Love it so far. My milk supply is still good. I did get my period two weeks ago though.
I got the Paraguard and had two regular cycles. No issues with milk supply. I always had heavy bleeding on day two, so the bleeding is the same as before. However, the last cycle I got the periods 5 days early, and now I've had them two weeks after the last cycle! Anybody else experience this? I see you did. Did it get better?
Natural family planning. It's been working for us for a long time. I used to have the 5 year IUD, but from the day it was put in it constantly hurt. It hurt to walk, lay down, exercise, have sex. It hurt alllll the time.
I just got my second depo shot, but idk if I'm going to get it again. Some incentive for him to get snipped, and the first week or so of me taking it im a total moody bitch and I hate it.
No longer breast feeding here but I had Skyla put in over 2 weeks ago and so far its been great. I had spotting on and off for a few days but ti supposedly takes a full months for some regulate things. I was taking the pill before and it made me incredibly angry and moody so that's why I opted for Skyla.
