Hey hey!
I know there's pinterest and Etsy. So I'm looking for something outside of that that gets a little more clever. I got coffee mugs for my in-laws. I figured if I'm wondering other mommas are wondering too. If you had any fun creative way of telling someone, please let us know! The best I could do was I sent my best friend who lives in another state a flower arrangement and the card read "To Aunt Marian Love, your niece or nephew coming 2016"
Re: Creative ways to tell family and friends
We are also doing a Christmas card announcement for those we normally send one to but will not be told in person or on the phone.
Last time, I just started wearing a shirt everywhere that said, "Does this baby make me look fat?" Don't judge. I was young and thought it was clever. ;-) :-)
My thought exactly but with Halloween and the skeleton shirt that shows the baby skeleton in the belly.
Also, for those we will see in person I like the idea of asking for a group picture, setting the camera on video and pretending to take a picture saying "we're having a baby" instead of "cheese". So you get everyone's reaction on video.
I love th idea of the flowers!! @ScoutPout
With the rest of the family we are thinking of telling them with pumpkins. We will have 4 pumpkins one for Mommy, Daddy, DD and the mommy pumpkin will have a heart carved out and a little pumpkin inside that says Baby #2. We will just send a photo of this since we won't be able to tell them in person since they all live far away.
I love the pumpkin idea!!! I would totally do it but we will be out of the country the rest of the month so we're not doing anything Halloween. No pumpkins, no decorations, no candy haha.
@jerseybroadwaybaby by all means take! I stole it from YouTube anyway. Can't take credit for it hahaha.
This is essentially what we did! I took a picture of my girls with an extra pumpkin!

My parents already knew I might be pregnant so it was not much of a surprise for them they got books to but I just asked if they we
This time around, we are going to use the holidays as an excuse to get large groups of friends/family together -- and pose them in a picture. Then we're going to replace saying, "say cheese" with "say ... Jen's pregnant!" .. and then capture everyone's reaction. I can't wait!
With our first son we ordered personalized m&ms that said "baby#2" "Due in April" and a tiny pic of the u/s. We made them in yellow and orange and gave them to both sides of the family (the inlaws were in town)around Halloween and said they were some special Halloween candy
With our second son we did the Halloween skeleton shirt with baby inside and we were a family of skeletons. We went trick or treating to my parents house. My sister noticed right away but my mom and dad took a while lol. We sent the in laws a toy from dd and a paci from ds with a note that said "please keep our stuff safe there's a baby on the way!"
We want to announce this baby around Xmas. I might wear a shirt and bake a pink or blue cake. So we will announce we're pregnant and then surprise them that we already know the gender with the cake afterwards. Or we might do a gift for the grandparents to open and say it's. Gift from baby #4. For the in laws I was thinking of sendin a bouquet that says congrats and they would wonder why and then we would call them?
This baby will be grandchild #7 for both sides! Which I think it's pretty cool
Haven't thought up a way to announce to Facebook yet, but that's always fun for us too. Probably some sort of pic with the big kids.
I love announcing it so much fun!!! It's also fun to finally be able to be excited with everyone else instead of holding it in lol.
I put this on the TTC board a few months ago. For our DS, we told our extended family at a family Christmas Party. We always have Santa come and bring presents for the kids. We just leave the pile of presents in the garage and Santa puts them in his bag before he comes into the party. We left one that said "Baby (our last name)". We had told Santa beforehand that we were surprising the family with the baby announcement. So he waited until all the presents were handed out and then pulled out our present. He made a big production of counting all the kids and looking puzzled at the extra present. And then he said the name and I came and sat on his lap. All of our family were crying! It was one of my most favorite moments of my pregnancy!! Hopefully, with the next one, we will be able to come up with something just as special.
