How is your weekend going?

Confess, complain, or tell us what you're doing this weekend.
My SO and I are deep cleaning and decluttering our apartment because we will most likely be moving next month and it just needs to get done. However, our cat is driving us crazy! She meows often and wants attention all the time. I talked to her vet who said it could literally be due to me being pregnant. We bought the cat a Frolicat Bolt, which is a laser but it does it all for you for like 15 minutes. Also my SO is having issues because we just found out he has low thyroid, so he is exhausted all the time but our cat wants him to give her attention. It's a hot mess of a weekend, but I do have peanut butter frozen yogurt...

Re: How is your weekend going?

  • Painting our room.. and exhausted :(
  • Loading the player...
  • Relaxing because DH is so chill. Internally screaming because we have SO MUCH TO DO!!!!!!! AHHHHHHH...!
  • Step daughter's mom is being a you-know-what, so we missed a day of our home with her. Then she came over smelling like weed... Took SO out for his birthday to see Jeff Foxworthy and Lay 3 the Cable Guy, which was definitely a good time. Today, I'm having an awful tI'm trying to get everyone moving and out the door to go buy Halloween costumes for the kids. Ugh, I dread spending so much money on something that will only be worn for a couple hours.
  • Today was great actually. Yesterday DS wasn't feeling great and hubs was out all day, but today he was feeling a little better, we went to a farm and fed the animals and went on a hayride and got a pumpkin AND I just got to take a nap while he was napping.
  • Can't stop thinking of and talking about things we need to get done, making lists. DH is giving one word answers while he watches football. Don't get me wrong I LOVE football, but we got sh*t to do and the only day off we have together is Sundays.

  • I had a lot of plans for today (grocery shopping, pumpkin patch and buying DD her Halloween costume). Instead I woke up nauseous, and with a headache, so I asked my mom to watch DD so my husband could work on his truck so at least something would get done. I've just been on the couch all day and am mad I'm missing a beautiful fall day :( ok, end of rant.

  • I've been waiting quite a while for a response from a job interview. I asked them if they could call me whether I got the job or not, just so I would know. Every time I called, they said they were still "in the process".

Well, I stopped in today to see what was going on once and for all, and the manager goes "oh yeah, I already hired two people." I asked if there were any particular reason she didn't choose me *cough*PREGNANCY*cough* and she said "I just felt like the others were a better fit."
Now, I've been denied from jobs before for that reason, and that's ok.

The kicker is that the position was for a sales associate at Pet Valu. I have years of pet retail experience, a Bachelor's degree in animal science, and open availability.

Maybe I'm just being sensitive, but that's a littttttle bit fishy...

Let's see, I quit my job, did laundry, visited my parents, got really freaking irritated... And now I'm debating on if I want to go to the store to buy cereal and ice cream. Decisions
  • We changed our daughters bedroom around and moved her from a toddler bed to a big girl bed and rearranged things. I'm so excited to be able to check some things off my list. I have been freaking out about things. I also gave my husband a big long list of things to get done this weekend and he did them all. I'm so in love! Lol!
  • I got to deal with late Canadian Thanksgiving with the inlaws (Canadian Thanksgiving was last weekend). Mostly I'm just getting sick of Fiance buggering off and playing game EVERY time we do a family thing. When we go to my parents he goes into the basement and plays video games with my younger brother and I do the visiting. When we go to his parents GOD FORBID I get to bugger off and take even a nap because he's buggered off and I'm the one that gets to play the good house guest.

Don't get me wrong I quite like his family... but I'm not a huge visitor to begin with and to be the only one doing it when I've had awful sleeps for the last 2 weeks isn't my idea of fun. Especially because bump was super tight and uncomfortable AND my RLP was acting up like mad.

Rant done... the food was good at least

  • When I started thinking about what I had gotten done, I then realized why I was so tired!
We had a soccer tournament, took my steps with me to the grocery store, did three loads of dishes, and 6 loads of laundry.
I also made a beard for a lumberjack costume, and cleaned all the summer and small stuff out of my steps' drawers.
Our best bet was that I took the boys to the childrens' twice-a-year consignment sale. It was half-price day, so I got so much for $50. (Half-off the consignment price, not retail.) We ended up with three pairs of jeans for my 10-year-old, really nice sweaters for all three boys, tons of baby clothes, a baby carrier, some bottles, and their favorite--a fetal doppler for just $10. They were so excited, since they're in school for all of my OB appointments. For $10? I can do that.
I will admit that I got as much done as I did because of my stepsons. It really helps that somebody can carry a laundry basket for me up the stairs, and that our 8 and 10-year-olds can start the dryer.
