38 weeks and just got my first stretch marks

Early on I assumed this would be inevitable but the last few weeks I started thinking I might be able to get away without any. The morning getting out of the shower I noticed three lines on either side of my belly button. I know this isn't really a big deal and is really common, just so disappointing so close to the end

I'm with you! 37 weeks and 4 days and I found 2 little stretch marks coming out from around my belly button. I blame it on the tummy tuck I had a few years back though after weight loss. They made my belly button nice and tight and now it's buldging like it wants to pop out but instead is just stretching

I'm hoping not too many more come out over the next potential weeks.

Haha same here. I couldn't see them because my stomach is so big! But you know what...it really doesn't bother me. I thought it would..They are my mummy scars and I will wear them with pride B-)

You can get them even afterwards, pregnancy and birth is fun like that. Any kind of change can cause it. It'll be ok

Me too! At 39 weeks noticed some at the bottom of my belly. They aren't too visible so I'm fine with it. Plus I always had some on my thighs and breasts and I just never let it get to me.

Just continue to take care of your skin even after birth. They could very well fade

I made it 38 weeks without any. Got out of the shower yesterday, nothing. Just got out of the shower and now there are like 4 on both sides of my stomach under my belly button. I expected this to happen, yet for some reason I can't stop crying. I know I'm being dramatic but I have such horrible body image issues as it is that just adds fuel to the fire.

I bawled my eyes out this morning. I am coming to terms with it. Just grieving the loss of my body.

I also got my first stretch marks this week (I'm 37 weeks). I was so proud that I didn't have any...LOL. They are low on the underside of my belly, below my belly button and I don't think they appeared until after I dropped. They are not super noticeable now just because of their location, but will be once my belly is back to normal. Hope they go away; I would rather not keep them!

I got so many stretch marks last time around and nothing this time. Till last week! Just one little spot, but still!

I'm blaming it on being pregnant longer this time (DS was born at 36 weeks 5 days and I'm now 38+6).

37 weeks tmrw and started getting them a few weeks back. I would wake up and find one. Got them on my boobs

I also didn't get them until late into my pregnancy, right around the point that I dropped. Totally thought I was in the clear! I think my husband noticed them (I couldn't see them since they're on the under side of my belly lol) around 37 weeks. I too had a good pity party and cry session! I'm honestly having trouble being positive about them, but I'm trying.

First pregnancy got them at 39 weeks and 5 days.. They do fade just try to keep them lotioned or oiled to avoid more and soon enough they will be nothing more than a reminder of how you carried a life inside your body. Don't be ashamed

wahhh I've made it to 39 weeks with only stretch marks on my boobs which don't bother me but just then while looking at my belly I've just found at least 10, it's like they've just come out of no where over night I thought I was in the clear! they can't get much worse with only one week to go can they? I'm devastated

My first one also showed up at 36.4. I went to bed the night before hoping it was a line from my clothes and woke up with two. I now have 5 at 37.5, but they're not as awful as I thought they'd be.
