I hate when people pronounce meme as me-me and I can't figure out if gif is pronounced with a g or a j because most people say gif (live give but with an f) but I've seen that it's supposed to be pronounced jif like the peanut butter.

That's funny, the people I've heard say it out loud always say it pronounced like "jif". I guess it's a regional thing? Haha.

  • My Inlaws are dropping off h's aunts car today so we can take it to the airport for her next week.
I'm annoyed that mil made fil call me since it's her responsibility and he is sooo annoying to talk to on the phone because he's nosey and asks my life story.

Anyways. I've ignored his call and her text this morning. I just don't want to people yet.

"I just don't want to people yet" - I'm totally stealing this and using it on my H!
  • My FFFC - H and I are supposed to go several hours out of town with his boss and his wife, and stay with another couple we know casually for the weekend. I have zero desire to be in a car that long, be around drunk people all weekend and to sleep in an unfamiliar bed for two nights. I've been telling H all these reasons but I think the real reason is my house is a mess and I want to stay home and organize like a crazy woman

Confession: I worry that people will judge my registry. Maybe because I love snooping other people's registries, haha. I'm worried people will think I have two many big items on it, or too many higher end brands. I know that's ridiculous, but I can't help having those thoughts in the back of my head.
I think the most expensive thing on my registry is a rocker at $250 and I feel the same way. I don't have it on there with the expectation that someone will buy it for me, but if they do great! I just want the coupon for it. I wouldn't side-eye your registry unless it's only really expensive stuff.

  • Pro tip: When you're shopping to use your registry discount, you can ask for a scanner and just zap everything in your cart (not everything is eligible, though). Just in case there's anything you don't want other people to see but you want to use the discount for.

Bahahaha I totally asked my mom to check out my registry and see if it's pretty equal of if I need to hide things because I don't want to get side eyed by family members

I don't know if this is a FFFC or just needing to vent.. but i think i am way in over my head for tomorrow. I am photographing a wedding tomorrow and i've only shot small, backyard weddings up till now. This one is pretty big for being a budget wedding. They have 8 on each side of their wedding party and it's going to be a long, long day. I honestly don't think i'm qualified enough to handle this since I am still pretty new to the wedding photography game, but i needed the money. I just hope that since this is a budget wedding and they know i'm still pretty new, they don't hold me up to the pinterest-esque photos i've seen on her board. i don't know, i'm just super nervous i guess.

  • FFFC is that to take my vitamins in the morning and at night I drink the juice straight from the container. I only need a swig and don't like taking a glass out for just a sip. I know many people frown upon it but I don't care.

Also I still refer to my dog as my baby/first born and I have a 2year old.

Do you have a helper or assistant? We had two amateur photographers at our wedding.  It helped a lot that there were two, because they could fill in the gaps for one another and when they worked as a team it sped things along.

If not, just take tons of pictures!  At my brother and SIL's wedding, their photographer (a referral from a friend) was an amateur as well.  She didn't like any of the pics she took and didn't want to release them, and ended up giving them a total of four pictures.  I'm not even kidding.  They had already paid her and didn't have a lot of other photos from friends and family at the wedding, so they have hardly any pictures of their wedding or reception.  It was a huge disappointment, and they wasted a lot of time going back and forth with her trying to get her to release the pics.

  • I just left an ultrasound appt where my little girl has decided to Yet Again turn her face away so the tech can't get the facial views they need. I am waiting to see the doctor and then they will try to see her face again after. My FFFC is that I hope she doesn't show us her face (they already have palate and lips shots so cleft -- has been ruled out as much as possible) so I can see her again at my next appointment.

Never!! My babies are asleep now. I can't wait for them to meet their human sibling :D But in all seriousness ,calling my dog a baby doesn't define my ability to parent in any way shape or form.
The people I know who call their pets babies seriously think a pet is the same level of commitment as a kid. I just can't wrap my head around it. You can stick an animal in a crate, leave it alone for hours... not a baby.

Yay for more appts! I have one on Tuesday because of the choroid plexus cysts as well as a cyst of my own.
I'm super nervous but also excited to see how much she's grown

    Somebody lied to me then!

JK. I call my cats my babies, not that I think it's the same level of commitment, but that they rely on me for everything they get.

  • My dogs are my babies. I know that they are not the same level of commitment as a human baby, but without other children running around currently, these guys are my life. When my human baby comes, I know things will change, but what will not change is the care I give and the love I have for my pups. They're my babes!

I don't have any kind of assistant however the groom's aunt will be acting as a second photographer to sort of fill in the gaps. However since she's part of the family I'm not going to fully rely on her.. I should probably shoot her a message though to make sure we're on the same page, I'll do that now..

Omg, I feel so bad for your brother and SIL! that's so unprofessional! Even if I didn't get that great of shots, I'd still send them to the client, that's just being a decent person. Plus the word of mouth on not getting any photos is so much worse than bad photos IMO.

Thanks for the pep talk though, I will just do what i can do!

You'll be fine!  Like I said, we had two amateur photographers at our wedding (they were the cheapest we could find in the area) and our photos turned out great!  Best of luck!

  • Regarding pets as babies:  My husband carries the cat around like a baby and she HATES it, but he is convinced she loves it.  Every morning he brings her into the bathroom (she also HATES the bathroom - water, meh) with her draped over his shoulder and talks to me while I get ready for work. She squirms the whole time.  Is she our baby? Yeah of course, but I also recognize that you can't leave babies home alone for a long weekend while you're on vacation like you can a cat, lol.  I think she'll be super stoked when a real baby comes along and he stops treating her like one.

  • Hubby is being made redudant at the end of the month and I'm trying SO hard to be supportive while he does his job search but I also don't know how to help him as he really has to do it all. I'm beyond stressed but trying hard to hide it because he is super stressed. I'm not sure what my FFC is other than I don't think I'm doing a great job of supporting him because I'm freaking out so much :(
  • Tomorrow (Saturday) My husband, my mother and myself are taking my almost 2 and half year old to see the wiggles.

My confession: I don't know who is more excited to go her, or me.
