I began my pregnancy weighing about 105 pounds, I'm at 36 weeks and currently weigh 145. Have I gained too much? Is there anything I can do to slow this down?
I know the feeling, it almost seems abnormal to gain that much weight. I started at 95lbs and I'm at 145lbs now. I'm not handling it well, but I know it was needed to support my baby. I didn't go overboard on junk food and I'm more active than most of the women at my OBGYN according to my MW so I'm not concerned. I know a lot of it is water weight and other...fluids? And a good chunk is from the Great Ice Cream Addiction of the 1st Trimester. Seriously, it was bad. But we get weighed in on every visit, if it was dangerous I'm sure they would have said something by now. All I'm worried about is saying bye to my favorite foods because a diet is starting right after recovery!
Is your doctor concerned? If not, then you don't need to be. If you want to slow it down, then eat smaller portions more often or do some light exercising. You could also google normal pregnancy weight gain.
It sounds completely normal to me. You were probably a little under weight to begin with, and your body is making up some of that. I believe if you are in the normal BMI range, the recommended weight gain is 30-35 lbs. If you were underweight, it will be 40+. Also, I feel like your body is going to do what it's going to do. I exercise every day - either running or barre/Pilates and I've still gained 30 lbs at 35 weeks.
No idea if you've gained too much, I'm not a doctor. We really aren't in any position to tell you what's too much. I would talk to him/her about it. I've asked my doctor once or twice about my weight gain.
Gaining weight has been tough on me too. Try not to obsess over it. I'm a firm believer that your body is going to do what it needs to. It's all about supporting your growing baby. I've talked to my doctor several times about my weight gain and she has told me every time not to worry about it. Just be open with your doctor. Sometimes they don't know you are concerned until you say something.
Your doctor will definitely let you know if there is cause for concern! Weight gain will be different for every woman. Women who are underweight need to gain more, and women who are overweight need to gain less. I started out overweight so I've been very cautious with my diet and ask about my weight gain at all of my appointments to make sure I'm doing ok. Your doctor will let you know what is best for you!
Re: Too much weight gain?

Everyone says it comes of!!
That should help if you don't ask your dr.
