  • Sorry wont let me post picture very frustrating

  • I would love to know what size you choose for your "Bringing Home" outfit? Are you taking a few different sizes to hospital?
  • I'm bring premie and newborn size outfits. Super soft long sleeve tops and soft loose pants with little feet and of course matching hats too and a cozy blanket for the car seat. DD was 6 pounds full term so she wore premie for quite awhile. Not sure how big LO will be but this should have us covered!
I'm big on making sure the clothing is soft and not binding. I always cringe when I see newborns in scratchy/cutsy coming home outfits that I'd refuse to wear for my own comfort. Just a weird pet peeve I guess!
  • My hospital suggested bringing baby home in footed one piece sleepers so the umbilical cord stump would not be irritated by pants. So I picked up a newborn & 0-3 month cute fleece sleeper to go home in
  • From the title I thought you were having 4 babies... I think it is time for me to go to sleep

That's the only reason why I opened the thread.. Yup bed time I-)
  • I vote NB or 0-3mth footed Jammie's with a hat, mitts, and a blanket (and car seat cover if you live in a winter wonderland like me). My son was 7-7 and fit Nb for probably 2 weeks? Premie fits closer to 5/6lb babies, which aren't that common unless you're early.

This is our going home outfit minus the socks and mitts my sister is getting to match and I have 2 different blankets depending on the weather. Louisiana is unpredictable!

    I was told this too.
  • I'm going to piggy back and ask a silly question. I'll be in for 3 days recovery, do I dress her in my clothes or do they prefer the hospital issued outfits? I've packed preemie to 0-3m outfits, footed sleepers and front open shirts for the umbilical cord, so I'm good on clothes but I just don't know the protocol...

My hospital allowed us to put DS in whatever we wanted. I kept him in side snap onesie tshirts, hat, and socks. It was the end of May so the ac wasn't on full blast in the hospital yet. He was pretty comfy and the shirts didn't bother his belly button in any way.
  • We brought preemie and newborn outfits to the hospital with us for our previous kids, and every one of them ended up wearing the preemie size.  (Our kids were all nearly 7 pounds and none more than 21".) They're just so tiny when they're brand new!

I would also recommend a simple one piece outfit - it's just easier all around for umbilical cord care and for a diaper change if you need it before you get home.  We're also bringing a hat or two and a cozy blanket for the ride.

During our hospital stay, we just left babe in the side snap shirts and diaper from the hospital and waited to change them into their going home outfit until it was time to go home.

At my hospital, its policy to leave the baby in their clothes. We aren't allowed to put our clothes on him till he's going home. Not all hospitals have that policy though. You may want to call your hospital and see what they say. Or you can just pack everything and change LO's clothes if they let you.
