@AL_TwinCities I was tested for everything under the sun about ten years back. My GI was pretty sure as we narrowed things down that I was going to test + for celiacs. My colonoscopy showed something was going on, but the blood tests came back just good shy of being + for celiacs. (Its been a while so I do not rememver all the details). The thing is, I had been on a GF diet for almost 3 or 4 months at that point. I have remained on the GF diet because it is the only diet that i have found that I can actually eat and not need to constantly suffer as I used to. Since going through all of this infertility stuff it has been needling me that maybe this is an AI issue.... I guess I have no question for you. Just thinking I should find a GI around here and retest.

@CopperLane congrats and thank you so much for sharing! I've also been brushed off by obgyns my entire life for crazy irregular cycles b/c I am naturally thin. My mom was tinier than me and is like clockwork so I never bought it. After your news I am very encouraged about starting Clomid later this month. I'm still traveling in Croatia and finally feel more emotionally balanced than I have in a long time- hoping this lasts when I get back to the U.S. Later this week. I miss my husband! One of his favorites is turkey chilli and he told me he was making a pot yesterday. So happy for all the BFPs - I love hearing those stories.
TTC since May 2013
Mild PCOS, Compound Heterozygous MTHFR No Folic acid/pharmaceuticals/supplements (too many to list- private message me if interested), IVIL infusion
This month is rough we officially hit our 1 year ttc. AF arrived yesterday. Called OBGYN who is giving 1 more month of 100 of Clomid. If this doesn't work he will be sending me to a RE. We had high hopes this last cycle since BD linked with our vacation but it didn't work. So I go get my prescription to take starting CD3.
QOTW: he likes Steak that he made a couple weeks ago. His favorite that I make is baked rigatoni which we had last week.
Out RE appt is Nov 2 to do our reciprocal ivf consult! Let the countdown begin!! Hopefully in Jan or Feb we can begin! This will give us a little more time to save money, research, and prepare.

@LauraNick2010 big hugs to you. I'm right there with you. Yesterday was exactly 1 year from the first time we intentionally tried. A hard anniversary for sure.
I am in the second week of my tww. I am hoping to not obsess about whether or not a bfp is this month as I was diagnosed with pcos and will be starting clomid if/when af bears her ugly head. Although I am dealing with a UTI right now so all I really am thinking about is peeing so I guess I have something to keep my mind preoccupied.
DH's favorite meal is pasta fagioli its been awhile since I made it just takes so long to cut up all the veggies
@vssbrm retesting might be worth it, just to see if your levels have changed. Even if they come back negative this time, Celiac might be part of the infertility equation. My cousin struggled to conceive 4 years after stopping eating gluten, but another couple years later she had no problem conceiving naturally (she needed IUI for her first two kids). I am seeing anecdoal evidence that makes me think Celiac might be correlated to IF, even years after going GF. I hope you have answers soon!
me 30; DH 35 TTC since May 2014. Aug 2014 BFP, EDD April 22, 2015. Low progesterone, started suppositories. Loss at 5w6d. Nov 19, 2015 BFP at 13 dpo, EDD July 29, 2016. MMC discovered 12/29 (9+4). Natural miscarriage 1/16 (12+1). AMH results 0.42, 1.2; FSH 12.1, AFC 10, dx DOR. RPL testing results normal. Nurse recommended progesterone suppositories in TWW. Clomid + trigger + TI cycle August 2016 - failed. Thin lining. Femara + trigger + TI cycle December 2016 - failed. Thin lining. Short LP (8 days). Acupuncture & Chinese herbs starting January 2017, lengthened LP to 10 days
@AL_TwinCities I have seen lots of articles about how going GF is the best fertility diet. I am really working on cutting down on my processed foods (trying is the key word!)

@Tawnie2929 UTIs are the worst! I'm so sorry you are going through that. I hope it clears up for you fast!
@twomommiestobe I have also been trying to cut back on the processed foods! It is so hard sometimes! I just want to grab something convenient and go, but as we know those items are usually the most unhealthy. The past few times I've been at the store, I've let myself purchase a ton of veggies and fruits. I hate to see food go to waste, so I find I've been eating it simply to keep it out of the trash. I did have a pumpkin snickerdoodle cookie today . . .a more than worthy splurge.

Congrats @CopperLane! How exciting for you! I hope you can let yourself enjoy that BFP soon.
About me:: We have been trying TTC for almost 9 months. No official dx or tx plan yet. I have irregular cycles (always have), and finally set up an appointment with an OBGYN for Nov 4. I'm nervous for the appointment, idk what to expect. I am getting to the point where I just want to jump into treatments, which I'm assuming will be Clomid first? I have been cramping the last week or two, so I will be very upset if AF makes an appearance right before my appointment and then I don't see her again for who knows how long. I'm currently on cd78 and will be devastated if I have to wait an added 3 or more months for any sort of treatment to start. Words of encouragement are greatly appreciated, I'm trying to keep my head up but its increasingly harder every day when I just keep feeling like my body hates me and all of my friends are announcing their pregnancies.
QOTW: DH doesn't cook, like at all. Before we met he lived off of canned soups and ramen noodles. His favorites are absolutely anything that I make haha. I can my own spaghetti sauce with veggies from the garden, and lately he has been loving eating that about once a week.

I have irregular cycles as well. Mine are usually 80+ days. I would still go. I was on day 3 when I went to the RE and they did bloodwork and the ultrasound. (Totally grossed me out but they said they need to do it at the beginning of your cycle) so it was perfect that I started. If they need your cycles to come sooner (so you don't gave to wait another 80 days for your next appt) they will just give you something to trigger it to start. Don't freak out

@clt2pwm11 I feel awful about throwing away food too, but my problem is I "forget". I'm in such a habit of eating the same stuff I just look right past the healthy stuff until it is fuzzy and moldy.... which is usually also the day I am CRAVING strawberries haha

So, I just got back from my followup and I only have 1 follicle at 17. The rest are 11 and below. I'm so disappointed and confused. Last cycle on injects, I had so many, and this time: one. Also, my lining is still thin at 5.9. I'm so confused and frustrated. This cycle mirrors my clomid round, and I don't understand why the large change between injection cycles. I'm trying to convince myself it only takes one, but I feel so discouraged and disappointed. Thus was my last attempt before IVF.

@riveridgional keep your head up! It only takes one as you said!! And even if you do have to move on to ivf, we can do it together and support each other, that's not too bad!
RE DX for me: Anovulatory cycles/Mild PCOS RE DX for DW: Endometrioma on left Ovary. Reciprocal Ivf Feb 2016. DW eggs and I am carrying. EDD: 10/27/16
@riveridgional I'm sorry you didn't get more encouraging news. It is so weird that your response to the two cycles was so different but it's great you haven't developed any cysts this time - *huge hugs* and I've crossed every possible body part that the one good follie gives you your BFP!
Thanks @twomommiestobe@agriffin92013@ceclarlinetlo. I think the large difference in cycles is what is so upsetting for me. He decreased my starting dose from 125 to 75, but I definitely didn't expect such a large difference! I have to blame something, so I'm blaming the BC pills. I know women take them before IVF, but they are usually given a different inject to take before the FSH. I wasn't given anything else and only had a 2 day break. I also really believe that is why my lining is so thin. I just stopped spotting Monday. I'm blaming them for the lack of response too. Maybe I was too suppressed? I don't know. I'm just really looking forward to the call from my doctor to see the next step this cycle. I'm confident estrace will thicken my lining enough since it worked wonders on my monitored Clomid round. I'm just wondering how we're going forward with injects.
My paralegal saw me crying today and made me feel better. She recommended I focus on how cool it would be if I get pregnant because I was able to see the baby as a little egg (or follicle) and know which follicle it came from, and I could ask for a picture of the follicle to frame until I have my first ultrasound. Basically, that I was able to see my baby from the earliest point possible. It is a neat thing to think about.

Thanks @twomommiestobe. I feel a little less anxious now if AF comes before the appointment.
Sorry for your frustrations @riveridgional, your paralegal makes a great point. It would be pretty amazing knowing that you saw your baby from the earliest point. Good luck, hope you hear something good when the dr calls.
*pulls out hair* we were supposed to get the results for DH's SA yesterday, but no one ever returned his call. I called my RE to see if they could see the results (I had to call anyway, I think I'm overdue for bloodwork. Not sure how overdue, since I got told 2 different things, but still) but no one answered there either. I understand that they are just the doctors, they don't have the personal investment, but grr! Next month makes it about 4.5 years since DH and I decided to have children. I think I've waited long enough!
I think my next cycle I am going to start OPKs and temping again. I stopped temping when I started iuis, since they gave me a trigger shot (even though I ovulate on my own) and I stopped OPKs while DH was getting this figured out so I wouldn't drive myself crazy
@erica0901 I'm on ww too - only because I had to be under a certain bmi for my RE to treat me.
*hugs* to everyone
QotW - DH loves when I make chicken parmesan. And garlic bread.
@Praying4ayear I'm sorry, I am young too so it's been hard to get Drs to take me seriously, even more so since I do have a daughter I conceived naturally. So it's been rough. My advice to you is to insist, get second opinions, until someone does help., and someone will.
*end of mention*
AFM, I am CD30, 16DPO, and no sign of AF. Seems the progesterone is delaying it. So I went in for a blood test, just in case, came back negative and will be stopping progesterone now so hopefully AF will be here soon. Hoping to get a trigger this month and more monitoring to see what's going on.
QOTW: My DH loves lasagna. I haven't made it in a while, will be making it tomorrow for him, he's been good lately

Round 1 of Femara- 10mg CD2-6 Mid cycle scan showed two follies (31mm and 27mm), trigger shot- BFN
Benched out December- BFN Round 2 of Femara- BFP!!! First beta at 10dpo- 28 Second beta at 12 dpo- ?
@riveridgional does your RE have an idea why this cycle was so different? That one follie is easily all you need! FX
**beta update**
I got my beta today, 62,128! They want me in for an ultrasound on Friday, so it's possible I ovulated earlier than I previously thought. My husband had a mini fit that I didn't check with him to get my blood drawn because he wanted to be there. He is a nut.
This is why temping and OPKs are not a bad thing to keep track of each month. I have spotty temps in my chart with maybe two temp rises. This helps no one.
@CopperLane Whoa!! What a strong beta! I can't wait to hear about you ultrasound results!!
My RE hasn't talked to me at all since the US. I've only spoken to my nurse, who just said it's hard to predict. I'm calling BS. I definitely think it was the BC and stopping only 2 days prior to FSH injections. I've read up on it a little, and it from what I've found, it can definitely affect response and quality. My nurse told me to take nothing today, a Ganirelix tomorrow, and an HCG shot Friday. He wrote nothing in my chart about estrace or additional appointments. I'm calling back tomorrow and asking the nurse to have the doctor explain why no estrace and why he thinks my lining will be fine come implantation time. I'm also going to request monitoring Friday morning of my lining. We'll see what happens, but I'm a little pissed to say the least.

@riveridgional I'd be pissed too! I'm surprised the RE hasn't talked to you at all, especially since your lining is still thin. Hopefully they do start monitoring your lining more closely!
Hi everyone! I keep on lurking for people's updates, in case I can help! It's nice to see more BFPs, and I hope some of the veterans on here will get to move soon. @riveridgional : I was on Femara, and then on a few days of Follistim 75iu. I was also livid with my response (always got 2-3 follies with Femara alone, only got 1 for sure one with the combo with injectibles...sure made me wonder why I had spent so much money on those meds). When I asked my nurse, she said not to be concerned as the quality was likely better. I'll have my FX for you that special one is a really good one and it works out. Are you doing TI or IUI?
@KidShrink Thanks for the insight. I'm hoping that's the case too! I'm doing TI, but I have no sign of fertile CM for now, so I'm really hoping things change by Friday evening!! I will have been off of BC for a week tomorrow evening. Hoping that things will kick into gear tonight and tomorrow!

@riveridgional : would IUI be a possibility, even if all counts and everything looks good? It does put the good stuff right where it needs to be, without the CM or anything else to worry about. I have my FX for you (and everyone else)!
Today's BS - DH finally got a call back from the urology office, saying they cannot discuss his test results until tomorrow because the doctor is in OR. Are you serious? You wait 2 days to return our call and that's only to say we can't tell you the result? I am livid.
@starlitfae That is frustrating! Throwing it back to Stephanie Tanner Full House days, "How rude!"
@KidShrink IUI would be a possibility. We can choose to do it anytime, but we both feel we don't want to spend the money on it this time with only one. I know that may sounds strange to most people, but we're on a tight TTC budget and would rather have the option of doing one more round of injects and possibly IUI when the response is better. We've talked about giving injects one more shot since I only used 1 Gonalf-F pen + 12.5 iu of a second and will only need on Ganirelix and the trigger. So, our medication cost was very low this time around. I just better not have any cysts this time if it's BFN! I don't want to waste almost an entire Gonal-F pen!! But, if we do one more round of injects, that will definitely be the last regardless of response.
I talked to my nurse this morning who assured me my lining will be fine. They think it'll grow quickly and think it's just lagging at this point since the follicle I have matured so quickly. She is letting me go back in tomorrow morning for an ultrasound to hopefully allow me to see the lining's improvement and feel more positive about this cycle. FX it has grown!! I've been drinking pomegranate juice and eating pineapple like crazy! I'll close my office door at some point today and try to sneak in some yoga poses that are supposed to increase blood flow to the uterus.

I had another blood test today and waiting for results now. Hoping the ectopic is done at this point and I can move on. I did start bleeding so I'm thinking that's a good sign.
Well, they did send us the actual SA, buy we are still waiting to talk to the dr. My question is, why tell DH to call for the test results when he tried to make an appointment when having an appointment to discuss everything would be so much easier? He drove to the office (about 45 min away) and was told to wait for the call.
My levels are negative. So it's finally over. They said I should get my real period in about three weeks and then can start another iui. I can't wait!!
@Drove2u great news, I am so glad you get to move on now!!

Sorry for your frustrations @riveridgional, your paralegal makes a great point. It would be pretty amazing knowing that you saw your baby from the earliest point. Good luck, hope you hear something good when the dr calls.

Round 2 of Femara- BFP!!! First beta at 10dpo- 28 Second beta at 12 dpo- ?
**beta update**
I got my beta today, 62,128! They want me in for an ultrasound on Friday, so it's possible I ovulated earlier than I previously thought. My husband had a mini fit that I didn't check with him to get my blood drawn because he wanted to be there. He is a nut.
This is why temping and OPKs are not a bad thing to keep track of each month. I have spotty temps in my chart with maybe two temp rises. This helps no one.

Well, they did send us the actual SA, buy we are still waiting to talk to the dr. My question is, why tell DH to call for the test results when he tried to make an appointment when having an appointment to discuss everything would be so much easier? He drove to the office (about 45 min away) and was told to wait for the call.
