Flu vaccine???

Re: Flu vaccine???

  • Absolutely! Just read a meta analysis and it is not associated with any ill effects to mother or unborn child. I would preferably get it in the second trimester or further because there were rates of miscarriage, though they are no greater than the general pregnancy risk before 12 weeks- earlier on in pregnancy more studies are needed. Hope that helps!

  • Yes I get the flu shot every year.

  • So, why is it that when I post on the flu vaccine, I get attacked and told to learn to use the search bar and stop clogging the discussion boards?! Where were all these helpful women when I was gaging everyone's opinion?

And just as my input, no. I didn't get the flu vaccine but each doctor appointment I go to I feel like she is trying to use scare tactics to get me to change my mind.
  • @livnicolery they were already posted. Hence people requesting that you search!

  • I work in a high school, so I have sick teens around me a lot more than I'd like.

My doc said to get the flu shot because my immune system takes a hit while pregnant. So I went to Kaiser and I got the shot. I had my husband get it. I had my 3 teens get it. My baby got it too. Then we all got ice-cream. Because, bribery. :)

  • @livnicolery - this thread already existed before you started your thread. That's why I and others told you there was no need to start another "debate" when one was already started. Hence, use the search function.

  • Pregnant women are recommended to get the preservative free flu vaccine. I am s health care provider and received mine.
  • I am 18 weeks pregnant and have reserved the right not to get the flu shot, but to each their own. I don't believe this is the forum to attack and or harass anyone who has a difference in opinion about whether or not to get the flu shot. If you inform and educate yourself, you should feel comfortable making whatever decision you feel is best for you and your baby. Kudos to those who get the flu shot, kudos to those who don't. After all... it is YOUR beautiful baby you're growing inside your belly. ;)
