I Fell..It hurts

So DH hadn't cut the yard in a while. He was able to yesterday afternoon and I had some extra energy so I decided to weed eat to make the yard look really snazzy. Well, the grass was so tall, as I was walking I stepped into the hole that's been in my front yard for years. I fell on my butt, heard 2 pops in my ankle, and started crying like a baby. Last night a huge egg appeared and it still there. I know later on if I fall I'm supposed to let the doctor know (I fell down the stairs while 6 mos pg with DD...yes I'm very clumsy) but this early? I may mention it to him at my next appt on the 30th but I don't have to at almost 10 weeks right? No cramping, spotting, etc. Just a sore and swollen ankle.

Oh, dear. And anti-inflammatories are off-limits. Get ice on it as much as possible for the next 48 hours to relieve swelling. Elevate. Tell your doctor when you see her/him, consider calling your GP. If the pain is bad. A pop is not a good thing. Feel better!

You poor thing! I popped my ankle about a year and a half ago, it hurt sooo bad. From what I've heard, it's not a big deal to fall this early on, since the baby is small and well-protected.

For your ankle- I found moving it as much as possible right away helped me heal quickly. Ankle circles, draw the alphabet with your foot, wiggling your toes around, start walking on it as soon as you can, etc. Thats assuming it's not broken; mine was sprained plus I had a small avulsion fracture. But ugh, that popping sound you hear when it happens is the worst! It still makes me shrudder when I remember it, ha.

Good luck and keep us posted on how you're doing!

I would call your doctor. I'd rather be safe than sorry. If it's black and blue, it may be broken. Or if you can't put any weight on it.

I iced my ankle and elevated it and the pain really isnt that bad. In the morning its more sore but as soon as i get walking around i barely notice the pain. Surpsingly its not at all black and blue. Ive still got a small egg on my ankle but i may just get a brace for now.
I just hope this isnt a foreshadowing of a clumsy pregnancy lol. I think ill mention this to my doc oct 30. Thanks ladies! (Sorry for the bad grammar, my phone doesnt care about looking uneducated)

I was not easy on my body with my first pregnancy during the first trimester... Running summer camp will do that. I fell really hard on my back from a few feet off the ground, rode a motorcycle around camp, etc. I was worried, but had a totally healthy pregnancy. At this far along the baby is still buried pretty far in your pelvic area and is protected really well. I'm so sorry you had a clumsy fall and i hope your ankle heals up quickly.

As a radiographer, pops usually mean a break. Lack of swelling actually points to a break too. Go see your dr about your ankle. And make sure they use lead if they xray you. Ankle xrays don't use much radiation and are well away from LO so not a major worry.

I hope that its nothing though!

I fell at 7.5 weeks on a wet tile floor at work when I was pg with my DD. I called my doctor and the nurse asked a few questions about bleeding and cramping. I was fine and the next time I saw my doctor he reassured me that they are very protected in there, especially that early on. Take care of that ankle, though!

Silly question i know but would i be able to walk on it if it were broken? Its now red with a little raspberry looking rash in the middle. It doesnt really hurt unless i turn it a certain way or put pressure on it like with my hand (not standing). Its still a little swollen
