We're getting the Chicco Keyfit 30 and the Baby Jogger City Mini GT with adapter. I actually just want the convertible carseat (Chicco NextFit) because I plan on babywearing more than strollering, but my husband is insisting on an infant seat.
We're doing the Chicco Kefit 30 because of the amazing crash test reviews from Consumer Reports (https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2014/04/5-best-car-seats-for-your-baby/index.htm) and the Baby Jogger City Elite w/ adapter. I plan on baby wearing too, but when walking the dog on some kind of wonky sidewalks in our neighborhood I figured a stroller would be used quite a bit.
Side Note: Honestly, it's just a good thing that I'm due in January, because currently the squirrels are just far too tempting for my fur baby (who has yet to catch one, but always tries. lol).
I've got a BOB revolution flex with a Britax B safe car seat. FTM but we go for a lot of walks on gravel so we wanted some good all terrain tires. I am also impressed with how easy it is to fold and how light the car seat is.
With our first we got the Britax bsafe car seat and Bagile stroller. Loved the car seat, hate the stroller. So this time we are splurging and going for the Bugaboo stroller.
@karenelizabeth102 My dog going after squirrels while I'm walking the baby is a fear of mine! Our little pup is super well behaved... except in the presence of squirrels. He turns into a maniac! That's why I think I'll be baby wearing more than stroller-ing when the little one is very tiny, I'm too scared of the dog accidentally knocking over the stroller or something!
@maureenmce I share this fear! Our dog is also super well behaved 90% of the time. She just can't handle the squirrels. But I also worry about her tugging me while babywearing. We live in a historic old neighborhood where things like sidewalks are sometimes ridiculously slow at being repaired. I've tripped just walking the dog by myself. I'm sure there's no right or wrong option. I know for the first few weeks my DH will be walking the dog. We live in a cold weather climate, so taking out a newborn in the dead of winter is not high on my preferred list.
That cybex carseat looks pretty cool, but I'm confused as to what the benefit of having it lay flat is? I was always told never to let my baby nap in the carseat (out of the car) as there have been a shocking amount of deaths associated with this. Does laying flat make it safe?
We got the Peg Perego infant seat and a Bob Revolution.
I'm nervous about walking the dog with the baby too. If a St Bernard decides to run off, she's gone. I thought about forgoing the stroller but someone pointed out that bending over to pick up dog poo could be difficult with a baby in a carrier.
Bend at the knees! It's what I have to do now anyway with this damn belly in the way!
I'm getting the Graco FastAction Jogger Click Connect XT travel system. I live in the country and the gravel is more like sand than rock in my area, so I needed something that I'd be able to use on walks on our gravel.
We have the graco click connect 35, and the frame stroller that goes with it. I also got a bob dualie because DS will only be about 21 months when DD arrives so I bit the bullet on a double.
I am also getting the uppababy vista stroller with the bassinet and the car seat! I am very surprised I only read of one more person buying this stroller. I think it is great if you are planning of having another in the future since it can have a second seat attached to it. I love the stroller and super easy to use! We got the Samantha color is kind of purple...I am so excited to start using it!
I'm between the Uppababy Vista and the Orbit systems. They have some key differences but I love that they both convert to a double stroller and grow with the child and family. I am in love with the way Orbit looks, but both are very nice and super functional.
@gissehlt - that's an awesome stroller! The basket is huge, you can add more kids to it, and it has a great push and easy fold. When we were looking at strollers, it was a toss up between the Vista and the Xplory. In the end though, I decided to just get a frame
And purple?! LOVE!!
fmanocchio - I contacted Cybex and they said that the seats have to meet different safety specifications for each country so a European or Asian model will not be the same as a US model and that the US is especially strict so don't get one from anywhere but here.

It's just bad for their spines to be in that position for very long. I wanted to get the bassinet option with the Cybex Priam...but that would require to much moving and pieces. As the bassinet never folds down. So with this car seat option I can save on space and still stroll with her in the lay down position...as if she were in a bassinet.

@gissehlt i seriously looked at the vista as well. It's great. But this is my last child so I don't need the double stroller option for the future. Also once the Cybex Priam came out...I was in love. I wanted a bugaboo...but I don't like how the chair will never fold up with the stroller. I need something that saves on space. Also loved the orbit bc of the rotating car seat....but the lay back of the cloud beat that for me!
@gissehlt I was looking at the UppaBaby Vista too! But I think it's a little too much stroller for me - I tend to be a minimalist, and wanted something smaller and lighter.
I'm in love with the UppaBaby Cruz, and just doing some extra research and comparison to a few similar models with my main wants/needs (relatively small, agile, parent-facing, big tires, big basket). The Cruz has smaller wheels, but they're foam-filled and feel like they could handle all of the terrain we typically are on. I just love the sleekness and simplicity of the Cruz!
Other ones I'm considering: Stokke Scoot 2, the discontinued Baby Jogger City Versa (available on Amazon and Albee Baby), Bugaboo Chameleon, and Phil and Ted's Smart Lux. Oh! And the Nuna Mixx!! (edited to add)
Car Seat? Compatibility will depend on the stroller choice. But damn, that new Cybex is amazing! The lay-flat option is incredible!
My DH's grandma just purchased us the uppababy vista. Like PP I like that it can grow with us when we hopefully have a second child in the near future. I also really like the ease of use and rotation of seats. Will be getting the Mesa car seat as well to go with it.
We've got the old style vista (2014) as we got it new for our little girl who is 16 months (will be 19 when baby arrives), I'm gutted it's not quite as awesome as the newer model with the full size second seat, BUT we love it! It is the best stroller we've had (this baby will be our 4th so we've been through a lot of strollers over the years). We've got the rumble seat for it though and will be using it with car seat adapters for the first little while. The bassinet is lovely and we will be using that at home as baby's first bed for the first little while We will be using our maxi cosi pebble car seat for our 4th baby as we already have it from our perious baby. We are in the UK though so I think it's called something else in USA.
For those doing the uppababy vista and using the bassinet, what are you using for sheets/mattress pad? I'm not sure how compatible other brands are with it, and haven't had a ton of luck figuring it out.
Mainly because we plan to have kids back to back. Chicco keyfit 30 because of the amazing crash test reviews
At buy buy baby you can use the 20% off coupon on the chicco keyfit 30 but not uppababy. However you can use their 10% completion code /coupon on the uppababy which they give you 4-6 weeks before your due date.
We tried a bunch out in store, and decided thr chicco bravo trio was our favorite hands down. Easiest for me to handle (im 5ft 85lbs pre pregnancy) the canopy for the stroller and car seat overlapped the easiest and good storage. Only things i dont like is theres no peak a boo window, and well have to buy a toddler tray when the time comes.

This is actually the same set I have except both of mine are grey. I love the green stroller though!
@babybluu awesome you got the car seat for free. I live in Canada and they took away my sweet sweet Target I think we paid 245.00 plus tax for that car seat so great deal!

I never thought about looking into shopping online. We only had target for about a year before they all left weekly target visits were my source of fun.

We are huge runners and knew we were going to go with a Bob. It took a bit longer to decide on the car seat.
