Nanny rates?

We are looking at a part time nanny to care for our infant. It will be just the one child the nanny is caring for in our home. Anyone know a good average for the metro area? We are thinking $10-13/hr, since it is for a single infant. Thanks for any advice.

Re: Nanny rates?

  • My sister in law just hired a part time nanny for $13 from care.com for an infant and a toddler.  All of the others that they interviewed were asking for $15.  This is about a 40 minute drive north from downtown Minneapolis, too, so I would be prepared to pay on the higher end if you're closer to the city.

  • Our nanny is $9.50 an hour. She is a profesional childcare provider who works part time at a private day care in the morning and part time for us in the afternoon. The catch is that we drop our baby off at her home and she only watches her for 4 hours Monday through Thursday.

  • I'm in search of a nanny to watch our newborn starting next July for two days a week. We live in St Louis Park. Does anyone have any contacts?
