I'm 3 days late for my period and haven't tested positive could I still be prego my last period was 9/7/2015 and I've take 5 or 6 and negative I've been cramping on and off lower bachaches breasts don't hurt just feel heavy anyone else test negative to later get a BFP

Do you know when you ovulated (chart your BBT?). How do you know you are really late? Because if you ovulated later then that would make your period later and therefore you are not really "late".

I got a strong positive ovulation test on September 21and a negative on 23rd
I've read some people get a late positive and I got a super faint positive like 8-9 dpo and now can't get positive

I tested up to the day of my expected periods now I'm just scared it will be negative so waiting till exactly a wk late to test again

OPK (ovulation test) does not tell you if you ovulated. It simple tells you that you have a hormone surge. That may or may not result in egg release (ovulation). You can have multiple LH surges in a cycle, but only one ovulation event. If you ovulated later (possible) you may not have been testing for it (assuming that you already did). Again, you are assuming you are pregnant and until you get an HPT that is confirmation of that then you are not.

BBT temping and ultrasound are the only reliable methods to confirm ovulation. OPK's just guess.

Wait wait, you got a positive HPT? What test did you use? The new FRER's are prone to indent lines and evaps. What brand? I had the same thing happen to me and I'm currently spotting going towards my period. Your positive at 9dpo may have been simply an evaporation line or indent line. I'm sorry.

Positive OPKs don't mean you ovulated, it just means u had an lh surge. You could have positive OPKs with annovulatory cycle, or all negative OPKs with ovulation. If u had negative tests u are probably not pregnant.

Correct on the chemical pregnancy. I had this happen as well. Got a couple positives and when the lines got lighter I bought a digital and it was negative. Got my period about a week later. Of course I could be wrong but it sound like a chemical pregnancy to me.

either take a digital test that will straight out tell you "yes" or "no", or go into tour doctor so you can get urine/blood work done. that's what i would do anyways..

If you have a short luteal phase this is very possible and a viable pg could yet be in the future. Otherwise not so much. **mention pg loss** I have a shorter LP and initially got BFNs... "AF" came but when it was brief or spotting continued afterwards I tested again and got BFPs. So, yes, a person can be pg and get BFNs. If you need to, ask the dr for a quantitative test.

Like PPs have said, negative test means not pregnant. If dye tests are not clear to you try the digitals. Temping is the only way to confirm ovulation. Positive then negative OPKs does not confirm ovulation. Keep testing every week or every few days. If you get to 60 days from your last LMP without a BFP or period, call your doc.

I don't test positive until a week after my missed period...so yes it is possible to get negative tests and still be pregnant. It's super frustrating having to wait when the tests say they should work. This is my 4th pregnancy (3rd baby) and it was the same with all of them.

The date you take a pregnancy test has nothing to do with your chances of miscarrying. Congrats and good luck.

I'm going to very kindly suggest you do some reading on pregnancy, OP. I'm not saying this to be rude, but you seem a little confused on how the process works. When you take the test has no bearing on whether or not you have a miscarriage; those are caused by things outside of your control, usually genetics that cause an incompatibility with life. If you are seeing a faint line on a pregnancy test, assuming you read the test within the designated time frame, you are pregnant. Congratulations and good luck.

What gave u the impression that there's a correlation between miscarriage and when you test positive? Miscarriages are caused by chromosomal abnormalities.

When you test has absolutely no effect on if you will miscarry. I'm not trying to be rude to you, because I understand the worry very well. However, logically-- the date on which you test (earlier or later positive) doesn't mean anything for your pregnancy. You can test early and get a faint positive-- happy pregnancy. You can test late and have a glaring positive-- miscarriage. Its completely luck of the draw once your get a +HPT.

Test using FMU (first morning urine), it is the least diluted. Generally HPTs are qualitative, not quantitative, meaning they only detect the presence of the pregnancy hormone, not the amount. That being said, there are cases of women having chemical pregnancies who will get a darker initial test result and then lighter lines following. I didn't see the picture before it was removed (it's against the TOU to post pregnancy test pictures other than the thread comparing positives, but I'm guessing you see that now), but if you are seeing a line, I would assume you're pregnant and stop peeing on things. Call your doctor and set up an appointment.

I took probably around 20 tests before I got a positive result. I was 5 days late when I went to the gyno who told me I wasn't pregnant and took another test a week after that so I was about 12 days after my expected period was due when I finally got a very faint positive. You could have ovulated late (which is what I did). I wouldn't test everyday, it's expensive and emotionally draining but give it a couple days and test again if you still haven't gotten your period.
