  • Wow, way to go all of you ladies making so much progress... I think I had everything done at this point with my DD and I was kicking myself at the end because I had nothing to do for weeks, just watching the clock tick waiting on baby. This time we are taking things very slow. I got a dresser/changing table combo from a yard sale, and that has been holding all the little outfits I pick out for new baby. That's about it... Don't plan on doing much else until maybe Jan.

  • @skschnake I did a glitter accent wall in our dining room. Sounds obnoxious, but promise it isn't lol the walls are all the same color (brownish taupe), just have glitter on one wall that is mostly covered by a huge China hutch. It looks beautiful when the light from the chandelier catches the glitter and it's very subtle. I know there are lots of ways to do glitter walls, some will be more subtle than others. I bought the valspar paint glitter packets at lowes or Home Depot and just mixed it into the paint before I painted that wall. It's smooth, can't feel it at all so it will be easily painted over if I ever tire of it. Love it!
  • I wish we had more space to do something for these babies. Our "nursery" is going to end up being a corner in our room because we just don't have any space. It won't be until we move that I have the chance to do a little more and we're not sure when that will be yet.

Love the nesting dolls!!! I may have to steal that idea. ;)

  • @g8trkim I'm obsessed with nesting dolls! I have a half sleeve on my left arm of them too. My family is from Russia so I have fond memories of them as a little girl. I just got a nesting doll Tula too... It's getting out of control. :)
  • I just found out 2 days ago we are having another boy. I am picking up a handmade crib this week that my cousin who is a woodworker built ^_^ and a chsngimgntsblr from a friend. We have picked a theme...superheroes (mostly batman) and I have found the crib bedding set that I want. Have to schedule my crafting ladies night with my friends to get to work on all the handmade decor for the nursery and to finish clearing out what needs to be cleared out from the spare bedroom that will become the nursery (it has been used as a playroom for the past 2 years)
  • Changing table*
  • yikes....we are really behind.  We won't actually have a room for DS until summer.  We moved to New York City recently and are in a 2 bedroom apt with a 2 year old.  We found out we were pregnant the day after we moved.  So, DS will share our room for now until we move into a house next summer.  All I know is that DS room will be gray and bright blue and green.  You all have beautiful nurseries!

  • Two walls green. Two walls blue. Safari theme. Making progress!
  • Just finished the changing table! Still waiting on the knobs from etsy but I'm so excited about my $50 craigslist dresser score!

So cute! Did I miss what color paint you used?

    I'm such a slacker.

I finally got the room cleared. And we picked up a couple of samples of paint yesterday to test on the walls.

Also I think we decided on a Dr. Seuss theme. We'll paint the walls light gray and have pops of bright primary colors obviously for that theme.

  • We moved in our new house about a month ago and painted the nursery livable green by sherwin Williams. Our theme is Scandinavian/Viking/dragons :) we started out gender neutral since we had a gender reveal party. But we knew we weren't going to have an incredibly girly room if it ended up being a girl. We got what we wished for and a boys room it is!!! I got the pattern for the mobile off of etsy (Tiny Luck) and made it myself. So it's not the greatest looking thing ever... But it's cute.lol

I got the rocking chair off of craigslist for 80 bucks! Crib from ikea for 80 bucks. The dresser I've had for years, the book shelf my grandpa had made for me when I was a kid... I just painted it. :) a bunch or random furniture. But it turned out alright I think

We still have a few things to move around, put away, and more decor on the walls. (And a few things need to be safety-tized) my sister gave me her mama roo and a few other things I've just put in the nursery for now. All in all its a tiny room and we have a ton of furniture in it. Lol

This is as far as I've gotten. Spent all day Saturday serging and ironing all the pieces of fabric I've picked out, and yesterday after watching my football game I spent the rest of the day cutting out animal shapes for elephants and monkeys for the crib bumpers. I still have to cut out lion shapes, but when copying the original pattern of it for the tiny details (so I wasn't cutting up the original pattern) was having computer difficulties so will have to do that another day.

DH spent his day off yesterday cleaning out the spare bedroom! Thank goodness I didn't have to do that! However, this is all we have so far!

With DD's room, we definitely waited a little too late (8ish months-oops) but I would love to paint early November. DD's room is a bright baby blue and I did pinks and white/ivory decor. Love how it came out! This time, we are Team Green and I would like a gender neutral room and then we will add pops of color after birth. Not to hijack this post (didn't want to make another thread on the same topic), but do you think I could do a navy blue wall (the wall on the left) and then do the rest of the walls a light gray? There are two windows where I'm standing and then the closet is to the right, next to the door. The crib would go on the navy blue wall and then the dresser would go on the wall with the vacuum. (Great photo prop lol) If it's a girl, I was thinking pinks (similar to DD's room but a navy instead of light blue) and if it's a boy, was thinking pops of orange. I toyed with the idea of black and white... grays and tans... whites... but with that ugly ugly oak trim, I'm just at a stand still with paint/ideas! I found that aqua, navy blue, and gray thing at Target the other day and like it but not sure if it's neutral enough to base an entire room from! What do you ladies think?

@twindling - she said the paint was silver screen by behr :) - I definitely would love to use that color too but again, not sure how it would look with oak trim since it looks so good with the white!

ETA: I'm so indecisive because we might be moving in 2 to 3 years so I'm trying to make sure this room semi goes with DD's room. We will be painting the rest of the house a neutral greige, rather than this yellow/tan! TIA

  • This is about as far as we have gotten. My dad is also painting a crib and dresser for us that he had gotten for free from someone. The crib is the same gray as the trim and accent wall and the dresser is going to be yellow and gray.

I had a pin that would have been perfect for you, but I deleted it. Grr. It was navy, white, gray, and pink. That's what I was going to do if I were having a girl. My walls are gray and the trim is white. I painted the dresser navy and the accent color is parakeet by Sherwin-Williams. If I was having a girl, the dresser would be painted pink and the accents would be navy. I think your idea of a navy wall with accents in either pink or orange will be gorgeous.

  • We have managed to paint our daughters room blue (it was supposed to be gray) and order a crib. Other then that she has tons of handed down clothes I need to wash and a bouncer... Tons of progress to be made but we will get there!
  • We painted grey and stenciled space ships and stars on the smaller wall with the window. Haven't put together the crib or dresser yet.....which we got from babies r us and will never order from them again took 3 weeks for them to find our order for delivery and they never set up our dresser like they were suppose too! Still waiting on the glider chair...have a friend who's making canvases to hang....cant wait to finish it!!!!
  • Well from now thru the holidays we basically have something going on everyweekend. Bachelor party, wedding, Halloween, baby shower, birthday party, wedding, thanksgiving. Plus DH is going on a hunting trip the beginning of November. So I have no idea when we'll get our nursery done. But I'm super jealous of how great all of yours look!
  • Literally not a thing done. It makes me want to cry seeing everybody's nurseries coming together they look great. And I have only bought 1 outfit. We still have to finish our kitchen before we can even start the nursery and the nursery has to get new walls and a whole new floor :( oh jeez I just got real sad lol

I feel ya on this one. Our basement just flooded so we had to take out all the drywall, insulation and carpet and all the stuff from the basement got put in our two bedrooms up stairs (one which is going to be the nursery). So everything with that is on hold till we can get that done. And my husband travels every other week for work so he is rarely home for us to work on anything. I feel overwhelmed with the holidays approaching knowing how fast it's going to go and the fact nothing is done!

I loooove seeing all the nursery pictures on here though. Makes me so excited to get started on mine some day. You ladies are doing great with them!

I saw this antler idea on Pinterest and I thought it was so cute to hang headbands on! I got them off Etsy. My dad tried to give me real antlers to spray paint lol.
I honestly thought this is what the antlers were! Did you get plastic ones?
  • @achae they are made of polyresin so a little heavy!
