Hello ladies,
Yesterday I went for my 2nd NSt and well baby was super active.everything was going well, when all of the sudden machine started beeping like crazy. Nurses came in and couldnt figure out what was wrong. So they ended up staying in the room to monitor. Minutes later samething happen. They realise LO heartbeat was dropping. It would be in the 140s and then drop to 70s for about 2secounds and then back up. At this point they didn't know if it was the machine or the baby.
They had other nurses come in n the Dr, they reset the machine change cables etc. They connected me again and samenthing happen. DRsaid he wasnt sure why it was happening but that he was gonna sent me to the hospital to make sure everything was fine. Still not sure machine was working properly. I called DH and he met me at the hospital. They immediately connected me and everything was fine. And then samw thing happen. Heat beat would drop for about 2 seconds then go up. Nurses seem concern so at this point I was freaking out, DH was trying to be calm but i could see how worried he was.Nurse told me that it seems like my uterus was contracting. DR. order an u/s and blood work. After the u/s Dr. Came in and said everything looks great with baby, so to be honest they have no idea whats happening. He said he is not too xoncern because again heatbeat only drops for about 2sec. If it would drop for longer then he said he would do an emergency c-section. But for now wverthing looked fineand he has no reason to keep me at the hospital. So they sent me back home and have to go on Sun for another Nst. I have make an appt with high risk specialist to get an u/s where they only focus on her lil heart.
I was wondering have any of you ladies had anything similar happen????
Sorry ladies I know this was a little too long, but thanks for taking the time to read and sorry about my grammar.
Re: NST not going so well
With DS I had 2 weekly appointments and ultrasounds for high blood pressure, if things did not looks good then I headed to the hosipital for a NST. My dr seems to always do an US first then a NST if she is still concerned. Reading other posts on here I feel like that it not the norm.
They 'think' that the baby either got tangled in the cord or was laying on it and then he moved. They monitored me for an hour after that, then did a scan to check the dopplers and did the same next day and it's been fine.
I'm so sorry you had to go through that, I swear I aged 10 years. But now I know how much I care about this baby, I was ready to cut myself open and pull him out to save him.
