Deleted threads?

  Threads can be closed (and there is a closed one who's name has been changed to "." that is on page two at this moment) but as far as I am aware they can't be fully removed unless maybe an admin does so but they seem to only close them.

  Thanks for that. I suspect its been fully removed because i went into my history and it wont open at all. Probably for the best.

  I saw the "." thread. So if people disagree and the topic of a thread "changes", admin shuts it down? What are we, children??

  The crazy thing is I don't think the OP are at fault. I think the rude posters flood their topic with negativity to purposely cause problems. Their comments should be deleted, not the thread. That's like burning down a house because there was a spider in it.

  BG will delete threads occasionally but I have noticed that doesn't happen super frequently. Usually they just get closed down. If something violates the TOU, they will delete that particular comment but not the whole thread.

  That poster dirty deleted their thread and then admin closed it from further comments. They definitely treat us like children and there are a lot of people who only want you to tell them what they want to hear, and throw a tantrum/get report happy when you don't.

  Yes. I've lurked a bit here...and I feel like a lot of people just don't know any better about a lot of things. I want my old bmb back where people told it like it was.

  You cannot tell tone through writing. I will only speak for myself but I am never outright rude. Snarky and sarcastic? Hell yeah. I also tell it like it is and will call people out in an instant. I'm the same way in person, I don't like coddling, and I don't like when people come into established communities with an established tone and want things their way. People are going to disagree, and that's fine! When you start using a forum you should take some time to read through (as suggested by the waiting period), use the search function (as suggested in the first few posts of the page), read the rules (also right on the top) before you hit "start discussion". If you choose not to do any of those things and post, you should expect to be flamed, and quite honestly people need a thicker skin.
  
  Bump Admin tends to cater to the newbies who don't follow board etiquette, which is ridiculous. Deleting threads and closing them personally makes me feel like I'm in high school. Newbies also tend to use the report button like a dislike button...also not cool. All around things would be better for everyone if people just lurked and got a thicker skin.

  I'm all for everyone playing nice together but I do think we (as a whole) need to have thicker skin and encourage people to lurk and get a feel for the community. And reporting things that only violate TOU, not just because you are upset that someone disagrees with you.

  I also agree. My previous BMB a few years back was fun! People disagreed, got flamed but moved the heck on with life. It seems like if you disagree here, or call someone out, the panties get in a bunch a lot quicker. Hoping the community here starts to gel better.

  My old bmb was slightly rainbows and unicorns but we had our share of crazies. I was actually the MOD for the board and I would laugh at the people who insisted on reporting everything or the ones who said the "mean girls" ruined the board..  My thought, you make this place how you want it to be.   Let's be honest... a crazy here and there makes for good entertainment.  My last BMB had waaay more crazies drive by.  This board is pretty tame.

  I got a "you're about to be a mother" the other day.
  
  DH and I got a good laugh about it. My kid will be the one on the playground saying "you tripped, stop whining and suck it up". )

  On my old board we played bingo. When the "I feel bad for your children/husband/dog," "you call yourself a MOTHER?!" etc. got whipped out. We had so many bingo winners.

  I personally would be really bummed if the bump was more rainbows and unicorns. There are SO many other sites to go to for that, let the bump stay it's awesome, snarky self!

  My issue is that now I don't know what's considered snarky and what's consisted "harassment". Something I said in snark, that a few weeks ago would have been ok, resulted in a warning. So now I am scared to say anything in fear of another warning! Gotta figure out how to walk the fine line I guess and be more rainbow sparkles if I want to be able to stick around. Because I need you ladies and would be totally bummed out not to share in this journey with you all!! ********Just to add, since I'm now afraid this post will anger the bump gawds and get me banned... I'm just saying that i personally am trying to be less snarky as I feel the tone might be shifting. It doesn't mean I won't side eye in the privacy of my own home though! I do wish that people wouldn't get so defensive over Internet strangers not agreeing with them, or not liking a post.
