I am a good mom because I am my lo advocate. It has been a complete pain to call people to get early interventions started , she was born at a time when our states ei ( first steps) was changing over and under a new contract with a different company. I have spent hrs on the phone trying to get everything straightened out so she can receive services, got a phone call the other day that said after our evaluation we were supposed to go toa different county 1st steps, which was over 2 hrs away compared to the one that is less than 20 min away. So that was definitely a mix up. Hoping after 2 months after our initial referral we can start in the next few weeks.
I'm a good mom because LO's GI issues now have me on an elimination diet to find the problem food (s). I am on day 4 of eating only rice, lamb, sweet potato and zucchini/squash. It's pretty awful, especially at breakfast, but it's the last option to keep breastfeeding and hopefully stop the painful gas/pooping incidents. I feel like things are improving, but she still screams before passing gas.
You are a superhero @Sammy K I applaud you! Best wishes to you and your LO. I've read a few of your recent posts and it sounds like such a trial. I wish I could help.
We had what we thought were maybe GI issues a few weeks ago. It was the most helpless feeling I've ever had, see babe in pain, feeling responsible and unable to help. But I cut out a few of the common diet culprits and started taking probiotics and eventually things improved. I'm unsure if it was one if the two changes we made or if he would have went through the same phase anyways, but my heart goes out to you. You are a great mom! She's lucky to have you. You will both be in our prayers.
