I promise you will love them when your child learns how to take off their diaper and the only thing keeping that diaper on is the onesie.
If they get that diaper off and start running get ready for the poop parade!
Yep. We ran out of Onesies that are big enough to fit Dd. We've been on the poop parade. Duct tape works wonders if it is colored or has characters
We kept DD in onsies until she was 18 months because 1) She doesn't like clothes 2) the biggest size we found were 18 months
Carters carries them through 24 months and depending on the style 2T. We did find a 3T onesie but I couldn't bring my self too buy it because I thought it was too redic for a 2.5 yo.
They were my bread and butter for about the first *year* of my kid's life. And since we live in Florida, if we were at home, she'd be wearing a onesie and nothing else, most of the time.
I absolutely hate it when parents start posting daily status updates with pictures of their kids on Facebook with: "Emelies first trip to Starbucks", "Emelies first spaghetti", "Emelies first trip to Paris", "Emelies first ride in the car" and I'm like oh dear lord, your child is adorable and all but I don't need to see pictures of him/her every single day all over Facebook.
I think the only time leggings should be considered pants is when your shirt is long enough to cover your butt and crotch.
THIS. I dont get it when women wear semi-see through ones with super tight underwear and a tshirt that doesnt cover their butt. Or worse, when they're commando! I get shocked when my eyes find these people's butts or fronts by chance in the subway.
Ugh, there was a girl on my college that always rode the same bus as me and wore straight up tights as pants. Not even thin leggings. Tights. Oh honey.
Also, i think nude leggings should NEVER have been created!
Did you know, onesies were made to pull down in the case of a poop blowout? So you don't get poop all over their heads. I had no clue about this until my last BMB when someone brought it up, which is unfortunate for my first two babies.
@kimey1 the costumes are a little wack and I still find it crazy that they blur out cigarettes on their American channels, but the pizza. OH MY LANTA were the crazy pizzas on point! You just don't find pizza that's like a German festival in your mouth here in the states. And the authentic bulgogi and bar-b-q...now I'm hungry. Thanks poop parade.

Yup, that's why their shoulder sleeves are folded over each other so you can slip their body through.
On the topic of leggings: one of my coworkers wore what was essentially this outfit to work today. I am far from fashionable most days, but this did not seem work-appropriate.
I'm a Rochester gal, adore Wegmans (though I was spoiled by their flagship store).
But I LOATHE Whole Foods. Is it really so hard to sell Diet Coke or Sensodyne alongside organic grassfed whatever? Will the gods of pretentious eating burn down the store in a hail of fireballs?
I hate when people post check ins and photos that identify their kids' school, karate dojo, etc on social media. They are too paranoid about kidnappers to let a 10 year old walk to school, but they tell the whole internet where to find their kid at any given time.
I also hate when people post embarrassing stories or rants about their kids. Damn. Let them be kids in private before they are tossed into the fishbowl of social media public opinion.

This! Im so tired of all the naked baby/toddler pics and all the potty training pics of 3 year olds sitting on their potty completely naked. I mean kudos to you for potty training but i would have been mortified if my parents posted pics all over the internet of me when i was a baby and being potty trained. And really i dont wanna see your little kid like that.

I have a love/ hate relationship with Whole Foods. I hated it today because they were out of apricots...and sugar. How can you run out of sugar?! And don't even get me started on the live band. Just, move your stupid double bass out of the way so I can my weird ass disgusting toothpaste, thank you very much.

My daycare kiddos mom dressed him up as a little sailor for his 1st birthday: just him in a cloth diaper, suspenders, bow tie and sailor hat for the smash cake. Could not look more like the next member of the Village People. All I can think is that middle school is gonna be rough when they get found.
@BrittnyS10 my sister texts me inappropriate pictures of her girls that we can laugh at - for example, one day they were all wearing tutus and trying to do head stands. The youngest was potty training, so no undies. Cutest little moon ever! But definitely not appropriate for social media.
I am 100% that tomatoes/grapes person. When I was 2-3, I would grab a tomato from the fridge, take a bite out of it like an apple, and then put it back.
Tomatoes do NOT belong in the refrigerator.

Getting reeeeeeeeal tired of the people on Facebook posting (and reposting) stories about how their child almost got abducted by a child sex trafficking ring at a big box store. Your child didn't almost get abducted. You saw a couple strangers whose only crime seems to be (a) not having enough stuff in their cart to satisfy you, (b) allowing their child to get out of their eyesight, and (c) shopping in the same aisles you're shopping, and you jumped to the worst possible conclusion. There is ZERO evidence that your child (or any child!) was in any danger from a crazy Walmart sex trafficking ring, aside from your own paranoia (which is likely fueled mostly by the sorts of posts you're making now). If you all stopped with the whipping each other up into a frenzy, not only would people stop having these "suspicious" encounters, but everyone's children would still be as safe as they've ever been from supermarket abductions and child sex trafficking.
NO. Just... no. Every time I see it I want to say nasty things to the person posting (and to all of the other folks congratulating the original poster for avoiding danger). I've settled for de-friending people instead.

I hate it when people use their pregnant friends/fam as a place to unload entire trash bags full of clothes their kids have outgrown.
I don't want it.
Then donate? Plenty of people would love to have free clothes for their children. You sound way ungrateful.
I had someone give me a ton of clothes before my son was born. Admittedly, there were many things that weren't my style, so I donated them... no big deal. Some of the items I loved! I'm never going to react with anger or annoyance at someone's generosity when they are trying to help me.

I just got a bag full of hand me down maternity clothes and I couldn't be more grateful.
I don't think people use friends/family to unload clothes, they could just as easily donate them to a thrift store or goodwill and get a tax break themselves.
I'm all for saving money, couponing, etc. but hand me down clothes skeeve me out. I know it's an unpopular opinion. I have anxiety issues with ppl touching my stuff so I think it comes from there.
I am ok with some hand me downs. I get frustrated when it's obvious the close didn't make it past consignment or a garage sale so now they are being off loaded onto me. We got 5 full totes from a friend and I think we kept maybe a tote total. The rest I donated or was able to consign. If it's obvious your child had a blow out...I don't want it.
Ugh on my towns fb page someone asked for opinions on if they should get the flu shot. She's 35 weeks pregnants. A majority of the reasons posted on why she shouldn't get the flu shot, have no actual medical research to support their opinions. I just wish people would do actual research before spouting off "definitely don't get the flu shot, so many nasty chemicals for your baby." It's fear mongering.
Catching the flu while pregnant can cause severe illness, even death. Fact.
The flu shot can protect you and your unborn baby. Fact.
@akb1125 ugh. Vaccine issues are one of my biggest passions. Skeptical raptor has a great breakdown of how the chemicals in the flu shit can't really affect you. In case you want to post an informative response.
Here is an excerpt:
"The normal blood level of formaldehyde is 2.74 +/- 0.14 mg/L. A normal child has a blood volume of 2-3 L, so a normal child has 5-9 mg of formaldehyde floating in her blood, about 1,000,000X more than found in a dose of vaccine. Is that math clear? It would take probably 10-20 million doses of vaccines to just slightly increase the formaldehyde level in your child."
@mayrae4 I'm also going to have to disagree. Free is free. DH says I'm cheap, but I'm creatively cheap - therefore I am thrifty.
Sure. But babies and toddlers only wear so much clothing, so how much free stuff do you need? Enough for them to wear 6 different shirts every day? When you hit the point that you are drowning in laundry and someone offers you yet another giant bag of clothes, are you now a jerk for politely declining? No.
I'm going to clarify here, for the other responses. Some people are we'll meaning and bring a small amount of things to their friends that they've sorted through, and that's normal. But others collect their kids clothes in bags, without sorting through them, or taking things out that are torn beyond being usable (or perhaps are a size that will no longer fit the baby they are giving them too). They don't want to bother with finding a place to donate them, so they bring them over to a friends, without asking if they are needed, and leave them there.
It has zero to do with being ungrateful. It's not appropriate to bring new or expecting parents HUGE amounts of things they can't use or may not need. If you want to be thoughtful, sort through the stuff yourself, and narrow it down to one small bag of USEABLE items.

Oh anti-vaxers always get my blood boiling! Has she ever had influenza? Cuz its pretty darn miserable, especially while pregnant, and dangerous to you and baby. I am a firm believer in herd immunity. If you have the ability to get vaccines you have the responsibility to get them, some people dont have that choice. It makes me so made that diseases are coming back that were almost entirely eliminated because some people wont vaccinate.
UO#1: bikers shouldn't ride on the street. I know they don't belong on the pavement either but come on, when it's a relatively Main Street, nobody in Vegas is walking on it! I mean they should still follow the law but it bothers me. And what bothers me the most is they never stop at stop signs!!!! If you're gonna act like a driver and use the street then follow traffic laws.
For a split second I though you were talking about motorcycles (people tend to refer us as bikers) and I thought to myself this woman is crazy! But I soon realized you were talking about bicyclists )
@mayrae4 that I understand. I wouldn't take hand-me-downs from people I'm not very close to. Since newborns grow so fast, most hand-me-downs in those sizes still look new - so I'm all for those. But if they're 2T and the knees are worn out, no. And giving a new mom trash bags full of clothes is just making more work for her that she won't have the time or energy for. That's rude.
@akb1125 I keep my trap shut about most touchy issues, and can usually respect opposing opinions, but this one really sets me off. People avoiding vaccines based on how safe it "feels," or some shoddy fake science on some blog really boil my blood. They put not only themselves and their kids, but everyone else at risk to avoid nonexistent dangers, and they reject all legitimate evidence as tainted by corporate or government greed.
Tomatoes are so gross. Unless it's ketchup or tomato sauce, no thank you!!!! My mom and husband can eat them like apples - sick.
Similarly, cilantro tastes like poison. I do not understand how some people love it so much. I will not eat anything with even the slightest bit of cilantro in it. BLEH.

This makes my skin crawl. I don't get the anti-vac movement at all. Oh, you don't think measles is a problem because no one gets it anymore? THAT'S BECAUSE PEOPLE WERE VACCINATED! I work in public health and specialize in immunization and infectious diseases and I just can't understand how people trust Jenny McCarthy over science.
Edited to add: By the way, diseases like measles and pertussis (whooping cough) are making a come back because of people refusing vaccines for their kids or delaying their children's vaccines. Some kids can't be vaccinated because of underlying health conditions or allergies and they rely on everyone else to get vaccinated so their kid is protected by herd immunity. I highly recommended this documentary done by a group of high school kids in California: "The Invisible Threat". Very informative and lets the anti-vaxxers do all the work to make themselves look nuts.

My hubby and son love cilantro. Meanwhile, I can't even handle one single tiny spec of it on my food. Yuck.
There was another confirmed case of measles about 15 minutes from me yesterday (a year and a half after my daughter was exposed to it at our gym). Do not even get me started on vaccines. I can feel my blood pressure rising just thinking about it.
