Super Thirsty

Hi guys,

Just wondered whether anyone else is finding they're super thirsty all the time. I'm peeing like fifty thousand times a day too, and I'm not dehydrated, but as soon as I drink one glass of water I'm desperate for another. Slightly worried it's something to worry about, and not seeing my OB/GYN for another week and a half. Is it worth calling and asking about?

Thanks so much!

Re: Super Thirsty

  • This was my 1st symptom, and a common one around here. Nothing to worry about. How far along are you? Mine subsided at about 6 weeks.

  • Nothing to worry about. Normal symptom. Just keep drinking water. It's good for your kidneys.

  • I've just made it to 7 weeks. Thanks for the reassurance!
  • Me too! Yesterday afternoon and evening I was drinking glass after glass of water and was still dying of thirst. What sometimes helps me is to add a small pinch of salt to my water- it is supposed to help your body absorb it better. Sometimes I'll also do a 50/50 mix of water and Gatorade when I'm feeling really dehydrated.
  • This was one of my earliest symptoms, but it didn't last (I'm almost 11 weeks now) In a way I almost miss it, because it really helped me stay hydrated! Definitely have to pee less, though.

  • I have to take a glass of water to bed at night now because I wake up so thirsty. This, of course, does not help the number of trips I make to the bathroom now though. I think it's normal. There's a lot going on right now.
  • I was super thirsty until 6 or 7 weeks but now it's subsided.
  • My 1st symptom as well! I'm not quite as bad as you but waaaaaaaay more thirsty than before and definitely peeing so much more.

I always thought having to pee so much was more of a third tri thing, when baby is pressing on your bladder--not so much! I'm ready losing sleep due to waking up every hour or so to chug water and pee. :(
