And early LH surge?! A valid LH surge? (post HSG)

Good morning! I asked my Dr if and HSG would affect ovulation in any way--she clearly said no. Not at all. Ok, great, I had an HSG done on Thursday (CD 12). I normally ovulate CD21 or 22.

I KNOW there are no sure things in this TTC World, but this morning (CD16) I got a positive OPK?! WTH!? I'm excited, if its real, but I don't know what to believe. I have no CM to support the claims of the OPK. I normally have Creamy, then Watery, then EWCM. Since Thursday, I've had some pretty decent spotting as a result of the HSG. In full disclosure, I'm not drinking green tea this cycle but only because I have this horrible chest congestion, and I'm taking mucinex. Like many, I don't believe in taking meds for reasons they aren't intended, but pre HSG the creamy CM was in SUCH abundance, I didn't want to make more with green tea (more CM would = panyliners, if that makes sense)

I've googled like a champ. All medical info says HSG doesn't affect ovulation, or the LH surge in any way.  There are MULTIPLE posts from people saying that they believe the HSG delayed ovulation, or halted ovulation for a month. There is no medical evidence to support that claim that I've found. BUT--I couldn't find anything that an HSG would speed it up. Hmmm...any thoughts?

I know TB will say, "wait three days and see what your temp does" as well as "you can have a long lead up to O, this is only indicating that your body is gearing up, not that you've O'd", I've been long enough to know that much. I'm just not going to trust my CM right now because I used a TON of preseed for BDing this AM (HSG Thursday= still sore on monday), and I'm not good at telling EWCM/semen/preseed apart.

OK Bumpies, let's hear it. What the heck is going on with my chart/opk/confusion status?  Also--sorry this is so very long.

No experience with an HSG, but I'd keep having sex until you see a sustained thermal shift so you don't miss any chances this month. TTC can really throw us for a loop sometimes!

I didn't read your whole post because it was long (and it's early on a Monday) but my personal experience is that I ovulated on CD 11 my HSG cycle. Hope that helps.

I normally don't O at all. It's the only time I've O'd in the past 18 months since getting off BCP.
