  • Shortness of breath? Whenever I go up the stairs I feel like when I had altitude sickness in Colorado...
  • Loading the player...
  • Not really a symptom per say, and it could just be the chillier weather, but the kitties just won't get off of me at night! One of them likes to sleep right on the baby! It's not uncomfortable for me yet... But I can't help but wondering if she will continue to want to sleep there when the genuine bump grows... Or if she will move up to my face and sore ladies.
Anyone else experiencing over affectionate kitties?

Normal. As you get further along you will have to sleep on your side so kitty won't be able to lay directly on your stomach like that.

  • Lol... She also likes to sleep balanced on my side. I think the belly might give her a bigger surface area to sleep on.
  • First time posting about symptoms because I know SO many things are normal and SO many people are different - did a quick scan of the board but didn't really see anything about sex drive... Mine has decrease so much! I told DH that if he wants to have sex he needs to let me know because it is the last thing on my mind but I don't want him to feel neglected... Also with everything growing and changing down there, a lot of things I used to enjoy hurt now, so there is no winning! One of the weekly bump videos a while back (maybe week 6 or 7) said a decreased sex drive is normal and that "cuddles or gentle caresses" are just as good... but I can't help but WANT to want to have sex... does that make sense?!
I'm right there with ya. My other pregnancies were the opposite and my sex drive actually increased, not this time. DH tells me he feels cheated out lol since the last times were so great. I've told him the same, initiate it or let me know you need it and I'm game, I just don't really want it or think about it myself so I could go months and be ok right now. Sigh.

  • Someone tell me why my left butt cheek has this random pain ha (0__o)
    Wow- same here!
Me too! This is so weird.
I call it my husband. LOL Just kidding, my OB says that it is because of the nerve in your back and everything shifting around. I still prefer my explanation. :-)
  • @korpatch my cat a nb d dig have been the same way! It's like the always have to be on me now!

I have that too and my heart feels like it's going to beat out of my chest! Dr said it's because my body is working overtime to grow two little humans.

Anyone experienced a very sharp pain in the uterus when sneezing? I'm 13+3 and I don't know if I should be worried. I was laying down when I sneezed and I had to crawl into fetal position from the pain afterwards :(

Same thing happens to me! Mine is specifically on the left side - also where I get pains which I assumed were due to moving/stretching/growing...

Hahahah! I actually LOL'd at your explanation
  • I've had a migraine for three days now and just popping regular strength tylenols and drinking coffee is not working! I'm drinking soooo much water too. Ugh.
  • @jtyler226 @KDHB13 always best to ask one's own doc, but mine said Benadryl is one of the safest drugs to take while pregnant. I use it every night.

  • I've started getting migraines too. For me, sitting somewhere quiet and dark has helped some. I've also had a soda for the caffeine when I feel one starting and that helped as well.
  • @Pinguinageddon I had migraines before pregnancy and took either fioricet or maxalt, but I really don't want to take anything stronger than Tylenol being pregnant. I over exerted myself this weekend and was out for the count on Sunday - threw up everything but water and had to lie with a pillow over my face most of the day. A cool compress over your eyes can help, and I find that drinking a small cup of coffee helps control them. I was a big caffeine drinker before, but just a minimal amount now controls the migraines for the most part. Also, DON'T let yourself get dehydrated like I did - I couldn't sit up until 7PM the following day. Sometimes I forget that I'm pregnant and not supposed to go as hard, but then I get winded going up a flight of stairs despite being relatively fit before the pregnancy

Question for any moms who've used compression socks in the past - what kind did you use and when did you start? I have a family history of vericose veins and have had spider veins on my legs and shoulders for about 10 years. Anything I can do to slow the progression of the dreaded varicose veins will be done!

    Edit: words are hard
  • I had a three day migraine that just went away. The only thing that helped was making sure I was hydrated. I drank 60+ ounces yesterday and I finally kicked it. It was so bad I threw up twice on two separate days. A heating pad and popping two 500mg Tylenol helped also.

I get out of breath so easily now too! I went for a few laps in the pool today and felt like my lungs were about to explode!

I wore them my last pregnancy from 20 weeks until the end. It helped with my low blood pressure. As far as the veins go, I ended up with some minor spider veins behind my knees. But nothing too bad.
  • I'm having the most horrible stomach pain. I think it's probably gas but it's so bad! :( There seems to be nothing I can do.

@RoseShadow873 I had the same problem until I started taking colase regularly. Milk of mag made the problem WAY worse but there was a point when I couldn't sit upright in a chair because I was so bloated and uncomfortable. It's worth asking your OB the start you on colase - I'm not even sure if it comes over the counter or not.

ETA: I didn't start taking meds until I had exhausted natural options like prunes, extra fiber and water, etc.

Hi guys! I'm at 12 weeks tomorrow and I'm having the most difficult time with this so far. I'm nauseated ALL the time to the point that, if I don't lay down after I eat, I throw up. My back is killing me and I have no energy. The worst has to be the constant mild cramping though! When did all this let up for you guys?? Best of luck to you all! <3
  • @celise889 sorry to be a Debbie downer but I'm 13+2 and my ms has gotten WAY worse this week. Some women throw up through the whole pregnancy, some never do. Just talk to your OB if you start losing a bunch of weight.

@celise889 Acid reflux also be a factor once the all-day nausea passes. A friend of mine who used to have really bad morning sickness till 15weeks told me she threw up in her sleep last week. She is currently 38weeks.
  • Finally at 11 weeks and having more good days the bad ones. Should I expect morning sickness to come back before I hit 14 weeks?

Sorry, no one can tell you that. It varies from person to person and pregnancy to pregnancy.

  • I am 12 weeks and 2days I woke up this morning feeling back to my normal self I even felt like my belly was not as big . this is making me nervous I have read that in your 12th week that your morning sickness goes away but that feeling let me know everything was OK. I haven't had any cramping or bleeding .
  • Anyone else having the really bad neck pains?
  • Have others been snoring a lot since they got pregnant? I'm driving my husband crazy apparently.
  • Is anyone experiencing vision changes? I don't remember this happening with my first, but it seems like my depth perception is kinda weak today.
  • 3:17A.. and randomly awake, insomnia is the devil! Baby you are not here yet, please let me sleep while I have the chance!
  • I'm a FTM, and 14w2d today. I've been having short pulses of discomfort at my vaginal opening. It almost feels like I'm stretching or something. Has anyone else experienced this?
  • @elasticheart13 Yes. Not quite to the level of curling into the fetal position - but it is seriously uncomfortable and takes a few moments for the pain to subside.

  • @shellyschuster I have been experiencing something similar. I'm a FTM too, 15w4days, and it has been happening intermittently for about a week. It's not painful, but I feel a pulsating sensation every few seconds for about a minute and it usually stops if I change positions. I have it every few days or so. No clue what it is...anyone else?

  • Anyone else's legs super itchy?! I'm dying!! They get way worse after I shave so I've cut back and lather them with coconut oil multiple times a day but they are still splotchy with red bumps and itch so freaking bad!

Also had eczema spots show up on my back and belly. Never had eczema in my life. This pregnancy is jacking up my skin! :/

  • Half way through 13 weeks.. And I'm just a nervous wreck. I'm constantly googling things that could go wrong! And then thinking "I bet I have a missed mc... I bet they will say the baby isn't growing.." Ugh it's like a disorder!
Anyone else having the overwhelming freak outs?! And this is my second one! Although my first was ten years ago.. :| doing the whole "woo-sah" just isn't cutting it.
  • Just noticed that I am spotting again! I am 14 weeks today and I am very nervous! Trying not to freak out but it's almost impossible right now.
  • Terrible neck pain causing headaches, and to the lady experiencing the vaginal spasms... I find kegel exercises really help.
